Yea seriously.
F that, random is fine.

The only reason someone dislikes random is they want to have a basic opener to go with. Just scout on 8 or earlier and play from there. The other player is at a disadvantage himself by choosing random.

It's not easy and it's even made worse by trying to practice as random. For every 2 games I play, I get banned from another 10!

I dislike random because it means I can't forge FFE in PvZ, which is completely obnoxious. I despise one base PvZ.

Random can be downright abusive, especially ZvP, ZvT and TvP. RandomZvP have been discussed many times. In RandomZvT, you can go for a blind hydra rush that is very hard to deal with with a mech build. You could also do a defensive sunken/hydra build for a economic lead. In RandomTvP, terran can wall-in and take a easy economic and tech lead, if he goes 2 gate zeal that is, but it's quite risky not to.

I get it if someone is laddering as random because he doesn't want to commit to a specific race, but sticking to one race, or race/map picking should maximize your level of play, so it doesn't make sense to play random in a tournament, unless you admit that there are advantages.

Meh I only played one random in this tourney, and apparently he cheesed every game. I managed to beat him but it was a very frustrating game for me. I countered by playing Random myself, because I hadn't picked XvR.

It still was more or less a coin-flip where I 2-gated in my main against his 9 pool 1 hatch lurker. If he had gone for a macro opening I would have lost easily, but I had the metagame advantage.

I'm more or less a random player, I've played every race with roughly equal distribution, but I choose my matchups (eg was TvZ TvP ZvT) depending on the layout of the tournament just to be fair. Ill probably stick with Terran for a while now though see how I go.

Because at D/D- level, it's difficult enough to play even when you know the opponent's race, let alone playing against random.

It's not like we D/D- guys do practice as/against random in a regular basis and playing random is never a handicap when each of your 3 races is worse than 2 others.
