$40-$50k? Sad? Ask him what his team salary is and compare it to SC2.
Ironically, there is actually one SC2 player who can't even make it into code A, but has a higher salary than flash (not including flash's bonus incentives for winning).
Anyway, while BW prize money is low, team salaries are much higher than SC2 teams on average. After all, BW teams are sponsored by large conglomerates and they have the cash to spare.
What? Who would that be?
Would be interested to that know that as well...
BoxeR obviously.
Boxer is in code A -.-
I am talking about moon. His contract is ~200k USD a year.
His contract was $475k for 3 years with WeMade for 3 years in 2009. That comes out to $160k a year. Nowhere near the $200k figure you're giving out, and they wouldn't change the contract in the middle.

But Flash's base salary is higher than that.
Flash said in the shindonga interview that he got 300000000won in 2009, so subtracting prize money, his base salary should be slightly lower than 200k USD.

That proves he doesn't follow SC2. MLG Columbus was the epitome of what E-sport could be.
If MLG can beat this then ..
Hmm what match was this again? :O
Are you serious?
you all seriously underestiamate the money side of all this. It is no wonder that a good game being properly funded, events, prizes etc. sooner or later will conquer such attention. This would never be possible if there was no funding.
This isn't about funding .. This is about Acceptance ..
If all people, old, young, teens, tweens, or what ever their age, their outlooks in life, their lifestyle Accept E-sport, then that can be a reality. If there is still social stigma towards gamers outside korea or china, then this MLG of yours will not be the "Epitome" of E-sport.

Anyway why are we sidetracking haha.
You realize 2009 was before 2010, do you? As in 2010 where Flash appeared in 6/6 finals and won 4 of them. And won Winner's League. And Proleague. And stuff...

You are talking about 2009, before he won all but 1 of his titles. iirc his stated base salary last year was ~285k, before titles and bonuses.
