Jaedong is in an interesting position for this match. On the one hand he isn't playing at his usual level. But on the other hand, he has more time to dedicate solely to PL.
Though on a good day both Bisu and Fantasy are on par with/better than an in-form JD.

Killer sacrified his spire in order to get fast overlord speed and drop, but didnt really accomplished anything with that horrible timed drop, as templar tech was already ready for bisu.

I've learned that CJ players are never to be underestimated when they're well prepared.
Effort and Snow both beat Flash in the same proleague game when no one would dare send a protoss against Flash. Effort came back from an 0-2 deficit to beat Flash 3-2 in a period where Flash was pretty much unstoppable. Yea I think he stayed mutas a bit too long even though he took out alot of Bisu's sairs and delayed the ground attacks for a bit. Still think he shoulda gone hydra/lurk alot sooner instead of the mass sunkens

Jaedong had everything going for him in the early game... Bisu loses a Zealot for only 2 lings, Bisu gets no overlord snipes, loses a sair to scourge and lost a Zealot due to Jaedong's insane micro..
But despite all that, Bisu held on and kept up with his attacks at Jaedong's nat, somehow prevailing in the end. Too good..

Jaedong then had to keep making lings and mutas, which further delayed his lurkers. Bisu just needed to stream zealots (pure mineral) into Jaedong's nat while massing up his HTs. Tho I gotta say that one clutch storm which took out more than half of Jaedong's mutas was crucial

So that's what happened. I'm not sure what's with Jaedong's decision making lately: his ZvPs don't have that decisiveness/calculating feeling that they used to have. I hope he recovers his real ZvP skill soon. This is getting really, really painful to watch.

He beat Snow, who's insanely good and he played pretty well for the most part in his game vs Bisu. Jaedong still has his insane micro, he's just facing a mini decision-making crisis, similar to Bisu last season. He'll bounce back sooner or later.

Not really. He's pretty much playing the same calibre that flash did back in 09 -- playing well but coming up short against every top tier opponent. It's nothing to get worried about, burn outs happen.

Yea this is pretty much what I'm thinking right now. Bisu was under performing last season mainly because of his decision-making and look how he has bounced back. I still see glimpses of the old JD so I'm pretty sure he will bounce back from this "slump", as he's done so many times before

Bisu lost because he doesn't get PvT. He could've gone templars, carriers, or anything, he was on basically even bases with Hiya and got off only 1 choice stasis at a time when he couldn't even push in and use it.

Maybe, but I think Hiya put up turrets and sieged up tanks in his mineral lines as early on as was humanly possible, and left a tank or two there all game long.
I think he was paranoid of reaver harrass.

Amazing game, wish I watched the rest of the series. Hiya looked so great early on but tapered out. Losing the 2 oclock main pretty much sealed it.

Bisu's PvT is the direct opposite of his PvZ. Way too passive and uninspired. Basically he just macros up and brute force his way through the siege line with goons, lots and arbiters. It only worked in times when he landed good statis or the Terran was simply mediocre. As stupid as it might sound, but it seems to be that Bisu doesn't understand the match-up. He just makes units and hope they win him the game. I know progamers aren't meant to be perfect (Flash is not a progamer, he's a machine), but it pains me so much watching Bisu's PvT. Even in games where he won, I just felt like most of the times it was due to his opponents fucking up.
They should make a PvT summer camp where they put Kal, Bisu, Stork, Jangbi, Snow, Best together and study how to beat Flash 10 games in a row.

Just about any recent stork game i remember where he gets to them aside from that one in the osl finals. And then it wasn't really the carriers, more the fact that his nat had become his opponents base by the time they did anything.

Bisu just didn't have enough gateway units. He had excellent storms, but not enough templar.
He threw away some gas on DTs and he always seems to have trouble with mines and observers. He loses way more observers than, for example, Stork. He also has poorer Arbiter/Carrier control.
Honestly though, I don't think he lost because of the carrier switch. I think he lost because he didn't use enough gateway units.
Also, does anyone know why Protoss players don't reaver harass Terrans more? I feel like Bisu could win a lot if he treats his PvT more like the way he plays PvP. Lately he hasn't been excelling in either matchup, but his harass in PvP is excellent. His reaver and shuttle control are also phenomenal, so I dunno why he doesn't incorporate that instead of the perpetually boring 2/3 base arbiter/carrier builds.

That's probably because Reavers are hit and miss. If you are a good player, you can dodge it most of the time. Storm drops are safer, more or less.
but I agree, Bisu shouldn't use Carriers live. He NEVER does well with them. Don't throw away an obvious AK by being over-confident.

Right, but he didn't storm drop either.
Plus, reavers are a pretty good addition to your normal army that takes minimal micro in PvT (compared to storms or arbiters). I'm sure you can whittle down vulture numbers pretty handily just by having a reaver around.

Bisu had like equal bases with Hiya, did nothing to Hiya's economy, and only got off one good stasis and at a time when he couldn't use it.
He played the game far too passive, and that's what's always been wrong with his PvT you ask me. I will admit that carriers played into this by giving him a window where he couldn't do jack, but I would seriously claim that if he doesn't go carriers there he loses even quicker.

I didn't say he shouldn't have gone carriers. He should have just made more gateway units.
When you go carriers you're forced into passivity for a while. He wasn't even on bases because Hiya was constantly fighting on his side of the map, constantly disrupting mining in at least one of his bases at a time.

lol that's ironic actually. Before, Bisu's PvT was bad because he throws away his units vs Siege lines. Now, he is too passive and he's losing.
Honestly when he was winning all of his PvT early this year, he was smart AND aggressive. He sort of needs to stay that way in my opinion. His style has always been timed attack, and making openings for himself. If he keeps playing smart, sticks to his style of play, Bisu will be just fine.
