Except Hiya, being the genius he is - did exactly that...his stimmed marines attacked the evo chamber and destroyed it instead of walking past it and attacking the sunkens... | ||

If they ignore the evo chamber, the marines wouldnt be able to get a proper arc around the sunkens (they would have to go around the evo chamber to get a proper arc which takes an extra 2 seconds, which would be enough time for Calm) | ||
