I'd definitely like to see some vulture harass Fantasy style. He's looked pretty average so far this season, so hopefully he can start turning things around.
Honestly, I do not see how Samsung KHAN can win this. I'm hoping for it, of course, if only because of the screaming Bisu fan boys who will be upset then. Also, it would make for a more even proleague if every team can beat another. This is better for the fans and for BW.

Samsung KHAN is looking good, fresh off a win from the lesser of the KTs. They’re now on a 2-win streak, with their 2nd generation players looking strong. JangBi is the only player who isn’t playing as well as he should, but that’s readily canceled out by Grape and Brave both ready to fill the spot on the roster. Stork has looked really good, even in his loss to Flash, it was close enough to look terrifying. If he meets anyone other than the SKT protoss duo I’m going to have to favor the commander. The KHAN terrans aren’t looking too shabby either, with TurN and Reality losing games to better players (or in TurN’s case not at all), if they meet Hyuk/Canata/soO I’d give them 50% chance AT WORST. Sharp is the only KHAN terran I don’t think has a shot. The KHAN zergs, on the other hand… great has been dropping games to players I’d put on the same level as him, which isn’t encouraging. Chavi and Juni are just terrible (I HATE YOU JUNI FOR STEALING MY 4K POST T_T). All in all, KHAN is looking like a mid-tier team again.
SK Telecom T1, on the other hand, is on a 4-win streak and looks nothing like a mid-tier team. The toss duo is neigh invincible, and with a zerg line 4 players deep and not totally horrible the worst that could happen in my eyes would be an ACE match, where Kim Taek Yong would be able to play on the map with his name. Last time that happened HyuN was demolished by the sheer terror that is Kim Taek Yong. Bisu is a definite favorite against anyone in the KHAN line with the exception of Stork. The other half of the duo, our Monster Toss BeSt, has almost nothing to worry about, since the KHAN zergs are now suffering a period of mediocrity. He would be a clear favorite above anyone but Stork or possibly great. Fantasy, the 3rd big name in SKT, has sadly entered a JangBi-esque slump. Oh well. We don’t actually need him to demolish KHAN. Nor do we really need Canata. But even if either of them ends up playing, they have a VERY good shot at taking down any of January’s players, with the obvious exception of Stork. I’m very confident in all of s2’s matchups, soO’s ZvT, and Kwanro to do what he does best. So unless Kwanro decides to go hive for some inexplicable reason, SKT should take this before it even reaches ACE. Oh well, let’s hope for some Taek-Byung Rok anyways
I clicked on this without looking, thinking it was one of the matches played today, and mmm almost fell out of my chair. AWESOME OP, takes me back to the 2008-09 days.
I love prototype for doing all the OP/banners up till now, but this is so nostalgic, great job disciple!
Here's hoping for
Bisu vs Stork Fantasy vs Jangbi
... but I don't think KHAN will be able to take SKT1, as great as their rookies are doing at the moment.
I also probably won't be able to watch this live
PS - hope you're back starting PL LR threads for good! Don't want another KT vs KHAN repeat, where there wasn't any LR up till the 2nd game. Appreciate it ^^
sexy banner, stork makes me think of Matt Damon on this pic lol. I hope to see Fantasy vs Stork, Jangbi vs Kwanro, and Bisu raping any zergs scrub haha.
If only KHAN could crush both KT and SKT in one week, it would be a major power blast for Stork's team... who know, maybe even Jangbi will score i hope for: Stork v Fanta, JangBi v Bisu, Great v BeSt and Brave v Kwanro KHAN 4:0 gogo!!!!!
I hope all the computers are working fine and there are no long as hell tvts, so I don't have to end up falling asleep watching Go. Also best needs to rebound from being eliminated in both leagues... Still can't decide who I want to win more between Stork and Bisu, so I just hope they don't play each other and both can win!
Lets keep up the excellent playing SKT Protosses. Hopefuly FanTaSy can get out of his early season slump by taking on a mediocre Khan Protoss like Brave.

That mediocre KHAN protoss has a 5 game winning streak at the moment with over 75% in PvP. Brave can certainly bring out the hurt if Fantasy isn't careful with his micro.

It seems that it's the first one to make the thread. If you need some time to work on it, you can create the thread and write something like work in progress, but don't reserve the thread too early, I've already seen some threads closed for this reason. But if you're motivated to create live report threads, you're welcome, recently there wasn't even a thread for KT vs Khan, and there was a beautiful Flash vs Stork on going.

haha i've made a grand total of 5 OPs but someone always steals them before i post
Who is this Turn? Seems to be doing well - I watched his match against Hoejja and despite some sloppy moments it was quite impressive. It was particularly enjoyable to see his use of firebats against lings and lurkers under swarm, not enough of that around.

Yes...precisely what happened in the KT vs. Khan match was what prompted me to think about this. I have like zero (well, maybe one) experience of making live-report threads, so I don't think I'll be able to handle the responsability of making a live-report thread GUIDE.
But to some other veterans: please, if you have time, can you think about it? Normally this wouldn't be necessary but with the advent of SC2, we'll soon be getting a lot of loss of know-how with regards to BW on Teamliquid.
It would be nice to keep some of that know-how in data format so that the next generation has an easier learning curve.

In all honesty, all you have to do to make an OP is find an old format that you like and add what personal touches you like to it. I'm probably gonna try to make some more OP's from now on.
would you rather me make a whole thread for this, or is this enough?
I'm sure it looks simple to people who have done it a hundred times. It doesn't to me, who's only done it once. I understand the TLPD-ize option, but what about little details like TLPD-izing players who are not in the database? Also...when I tried it looks like you can't bold and italicize at the same time something that's inside a TLPD quote. Also...where is the button to center text? All of these little questions add up...
Another thing are the publicly-hosted images...it would be a pain to remember where they all are without finding the original thread that contained them. Or there maybe multiple OPs that I really liked but can't remember which was what match, and contained which pictures, etc.
Just my two-cent, like I said if they are enough OPers out there there wouldn't be a need for this discussion.

D: but thats just general BB-Code... i'd have to teach you everything about BB-Code then...
there is no center button. we just type the tags. [center]. that's it. the only times the buttons are actually helpful imo is for pictures, links, and tlpd.
to bold or italicize something that's tlpd-'d, do it like
to tlpd players that are difficult, a good rule of thumb is to just capitalize the player name. some players have AKAs that are used instead. BeSt needs two letters capitalized. soo must be tlpd'd as Soo_SKT (unless you actually want soo of stx). baby is now Ty.
for publicly hosted images, just learn to use the search function. notice how LR threads have had their titles standardized? its for ease of searching.
Thanks in advance! hoping tonight's games are good and not too many zvz's...
This bo7 format has really forced teams to send out relatively mediocre players, even comparatively "deep" teams in PL still really have at most 3/4 strong players.
new jackets for the T1 players - I thought the striped grey ones were non-sanctioned, but they have the SK patch on the shoulder - the bench sure looks inconsistent with most of the players and the race coaches in the "older" (still pretty new) white jacket.
2 goons still scared of the bunker and staying out of range one tank out for fantasy on the way - fantasy microing his vulture vs the goons, mines done!
long line of vultures heading out again, both red reavers at the nat destroyed - mine terrorism killing 4 goons now taking out a few probes, reinforcing goons clear things out
reminded me of flash vs effort on judgment day, one player starts off with a huge advantage and the other one defends against all odds way longer than he should

I agree with Zona though that Fantasy made a lot of mistakes. At this point tho I'm sure he'll just be happy with the win.
well I do think Jangbi conceded a bit early, his back was definitely against the wall he just lost most of his army, including both reavers, and even his 3rd was behind Fantasy's 3rd...terrible for toss
I guess he figured he wouldn't be able to reinforce his army quickly enough to save his 3rd and that would have been it
especially with fantasy constantly bringing more and more reinforcements that earlier jangbi was holding off with his reaver and own forces

He's been playing pretty much up to his usual form since the start of the season but makes more ridiculous errors and doesn't seem to be able to gameplan as well as he used to.
edit: although that might just be because of the new map pool.

Yeah the big question is whether it's a map pool thing, a lack of Boxer's guidance, a bit of both, or something else entirely. Hard to know, but at the end of last season I thought Fantasy was clearly the 3rd best player on the planet, and he's nowhere near that sort of form atm.

Jangbi has turned into BackHo. That's seriously my theory right now. BackHo's the only other player whose play oscillates so wildly within a single game. Jangbi was alternating amazing shuttle/reaver micro with walking into tanks. I don't know whether his head's not in the game, or Stork's a bad influence, or what.

Yes...that's exactly why I'm so disappointed with his play.
Especially since I'm a SKT T1 fan because of Boxer-Oov-Fantasy (not primarily because of Bisu)

LOL turn just decides to attack and kills kwanro. It was nice timing, but part of me thinks he just randomly attacked to try to do some damage as his main was dying to mutas.
Don't mind the SKT uniform, looks alot better than most of the older uniforms of most teams which made them look like F1 drivers, covered in random shit. The orange one is better though :D
and this is why i was like "lolwut" when SKT got Kwanro because he has consistently shown me that he can suck at levels i thought impossible "my opponent has 20 scvs and only one base mining? sounds hard."
Turn won because he insisted on making tanks even though his scvs were getting raped. Mutas aren't a threat with 4 vessels and Kwanro droned a bit too much.
this wasn't about whether or not kwanro went hive it's whether or not kwanro added units/sniped vessels
he relied on his mass muta pump which was really cut down by MANY irradiates
and the 6 lurkers he did morph, 4 were placed in a very vulnerable position - zerg players regularly do this but often aren't punished, but kwanro was punished today
interesting strategy from turn to tech straight to fast vessels -- am I right that he built a factory before CC? He skipped marines to get vessels that fast, I guess it paid off...
poor kwanro over committed to kill turn's economy while turn massed vessels and went all-in with his timing attack. =[ Go feed soO or hyuk to the birdtoss and let it be an SKT comeback!
On November 03 2010 13:49 KTF_CloaK wrote: Kwanro: 'What do you mean I must expand when mutas are out?'
He did expand, he just didn't build enough units/tech fast enough
he expanded too late, far too late and morped his lurkers in a very vulnerable position, I still don't like the guy because it seems that if a game lasts longer than 10 minutes he auto-dies lol.
Correct me if I'm wrong but when he had 2 control groups of zerglings and TurN had 3 vults + 1 wraith out, couldn't kwanro just mass lings to win it? He seemed to dodge a couple mines and I thought oh god here comes kwanro's trademark. (His spire wasn't done yet)
He seemed indecisive as to whether wait for mutas, or mass ling and when he did get the mutas he over commited to sniping scvs and didn't expand fast enough =/

Maybe being indecisive was part of it... Kwanro didn't morph mutas right away after the spire finished...so whatever plan he might have had in advance didn't extend that far
Best vs P oh fuck yes! Let's see an army steamroll

SCV wall with ~5 rines is quite strong against mass lings. Perhaps he could have won if he kept pumping lings but I doubt it because vult/mines/fbats/scvs/bunks all are strong against lings.
best pulling back from stork's backdoor, preparing to bust forward nat instead. stork knows and prepares to defend with very, very little. pulling goons to help
...and BeSt is back playing PL so now he can play like his usual self. WTF man, how can such a good player consistently struggle in the prelims? /shakes head.
The thing is, the thing that gave Best a big advantage was the storm drops and stork unable to use his early army advantage to attack up to best's back back nat

I still think stork had a real chance of going into best's third before that zealot blocked the ramp 3 goons v 1 with 1 cannon about to pop... He could have just sniped the goon and ran past the cannon to snipe some probes...

Man...remember when KHAN was T1's biggest threat in Proleague? Times have changed... what happened to Samsung. JangBi and Stork seemed to completely lose their drive and the team has had no good newcomers after great and TurN. Honestly KHAN looks like it's just waiting around to die, to me
bisu attacking great's nat and 3rd - attack doesn't work out? hydralurker drop in bisu's main - doing some damage zealots with observer finish things off
fascinating game, great sacrifices air dominance to mass hydralisks... bisu has to use those corsairs to cut down great's overlords that now have speed and drop ... bisu's sexy micro is keeping him in the game at least for that drop, also he has a third which he has to defend with a shuttle...
storm drop! only gets 2-3 kills 2 overlords drop 1 hydra 4 lurker in bisu's main, simultaneously a lurker drop at his 3rd both get cleaned up without much damage done

Yeah they completely dropped the ball a while ago. Nowadays they just stand there with a vaguely dumbfounded expression until the games are over. No wonder they got rolled by T1.
bisu somehow breaking great's 3rd? I guess he has no units that aren't dropping Bisu meanwhile bisu's main getting hammered by some lurkers, he's losing his gateways wtf is this game so crazy
great with another 3 ol's dropping at bisu's 3rd defending archon dies the lurker is stormed bisu moving into great's nat the drones run great has no defense
Great (teehee) play by the zerg, all those drops would've beaten just about any other protoss. But Bisu, in the midst of drops at his natural, main and third decides to do of all things ATTACK. I didn't think that would work at all, but out of desperation or just sheer brilliance... BISSSSUUUUU
Bisu made a few key mistakes but on the whole his decision making and multitasking was solid. Not many Protoss could have dealt with those drop attacks that well.

It's just that Bisu played out of his mind, made wonderful decisions, and just barely won.
Takes him just 2 more seconds to drop in the mineral line instead of away from the nexus.
better lurker positioning and a couple more sunkens would have done wonders for great. I don't think I saw a single dragoon from bisu, just lots of zealots/archons, a few reavers, and storms.

And a lone dark templar slicing up some hydras buying time for Bisu right after Great's second drop.
Bisu seemed behind almost all game and on the verge of losing. Don't know how he managed to attempt so many zealot breaks with his mining being disrupted all the time. That last one just did the trick.
I'm guessing Great's bases weren't saturated that well because he eventually ran out of units while disrupting Bisu's mining so often. Looks like the failed zealot break attempts did more damage than I thought.

the first one on great's nat killed around 5 or 6 drones, reaver harass in the main killed 4
before that reaver got 2 or 3 kills. so great's saturation wasn't that great
Man, that was tense! I was worried there at times that Bisu was going to lose on his birthday (unacceptable clearly).
Great played really well IMO. His constant drops, and in particular his lurker harass was brilliant.
Even with all the pressure Great put him under Bisu still managed to harass fairly consistently with his reaver drops in particular. He was doing that regularly enough to keep the drone count down, and always chipping away at the OLs.
I was particularly impressed with Bisu's decision to just commit when his main was saturated with Great's forces.

i think this is the second interview for fantasy already. forgot his first win though. but can't wait for this interview esp. it's bisu-best-fantasy again... oh wait, plus soo also... and of course gotta love bisu's bday <3
oh ok fine.
and bisu/best/fantasy again isnt that strong of an argument since it was a dominating 4-1 victory. if it were a 4-3 victory then maybe. but not now.

I hope the lack of Goons was fanservice as has been suggested. Just seemed weird not seeing them on the field, and with a control group parked at his main he could've (largely) shut down those doom drops.
Bah, who am I to question KTY. Goons are clearly overrated
FanTaSy and Bisu just can't be in ownage mode in the same season can they?
Glad to see Bisu back in form in a manner of speaking, but what happened to the clutch FanTaSy that was just playing a few months ago? The one that managed to force FlaSh to a fifth set despite choking multiple times?
T1 has an amazing line-up, it's just that everyone else needs to be able to carry their own weight more effeciently.

He shut down the drops without losing too many probes. And he didn't really have such a big army, just he used his reavers well.

He was able to keep so many probes alive because Great kept dropping at spots where he couldn't kill probes. (in main)

Moktira's channel is about the quickest to get stuff up nowadays: http://www.youtube.com/moktira . I see sets 1 and 3 are up already. I'd say set 5 - the one you're after - will be up in the next couple of hours.
I'd recommend game 2 over game 3, personally - but then I'm a TurN slappy right now.
I think KHAN really has the pieces to put together a nice season, but once again they're getting a slow start. Their "offseason management", whatever it is, really isn't impressive. I still think they can/will take a low playoff spot, but that's almost more because nobody else looks better than because they look good.

Hey all, apologies for the delay in Set 5, I'm at home at the moment and my internet connection is terrible so set 5 is taking ages to download, hopefully it'll be up in the next hour. The other 4 sets are uploaded, youtube is processing any game that doesn't appear.

whoa whoa, no need to apologize...you're doing US a service, not the other way around.
thanks a bunch, especially since I missed what was apparently a great game from the other series.
Well it's annoying for me too cause I'm a huge Bisu fanboy so I can't wait to see it! Part 1 is uploading there, should be up within half an hour. This series all has Chinese commentary.
Expect hite Entus vs Woongjin to start appearing in a few hours, that should have Korean commentary. OSL Ro36 may come later today depending on how shitty eircom (my broadband provider) is feeling.

where do you download the VODs?
I generally search youku for latest uploads. PLU usually have the VODs within an hour or so of the games being played, they do live streams too (they are the ones with Chinese commentary), so I download it from their youku channel and re-upload it to youtube as youku is really slow to buffer in this part of the world.
Yeah, Kwanro kwanrolled himself by losing so many mutas in the harass, letting TurN build a critical mass of science vessels so quickly, morphing his lurkers so exposed...
