Even though I like WeMade, I still have no idea how they managed to do this.

If he'd shown any strategic diversity I'd have been the first in the "HE'S BACK" choir. He didn't though, just macro and arbiters which is simply not enough to beat a top level Terran. It was the same story in his other prelim games too. Maybe Bisu felt he didn't need to use his best builds to beat the prelims and would rather rely on his macro. But unless I see him dismantle a push with storms or transition into carrier, dragoon, high templar at the perfect time I'm not going to be impressed. While his macro was top level his style was outdated and one dimensional. Sorry guys.

not sure why bisu played like best in that game but he has shown his old flair in many of his games though, especially the pvz/pvp department. he plays a little hard-headed in pvt sometimes, instead of doing the more common shuttle/templar tactics and such. probably wanted to win with the "spirit" style

He's been doing this PvT shit for months now though. I honestly don't know if he can play modern PvT anymore. He simply doesn't do it and you can't attack move into 3-3 tanks anymore. I'm ready to write Bisu off as a sniper at this point.

no i definitely know what you mean, but he certainly is capable of playing the more modern style pvt. i have seen him do it. it's puzzling why he chooses to play like that sometimes though. although he can crush many terrans with that macro, it is not the safest way to seal a victory. i still think you are being a little harsh to say that bisu is not "back" though. his flair is back, and so is his confidence. i've been really impressed with him up to this point - carrying a huge weight for his team and delivering each time.

I'm pretty sure he is back, including his shaky vT vs good Terrans.

haha good point. bisu's pvt is pretty inconsistent. sometimes he plays a flawless game, but other times, he plays like a bone-headed macro machine. what a glaring difference from his pvz and pvp, where he displays a dynamic playstyle.

Eh, Bisu focused too much on destroying pushes instead of containing them and expanding. This game will tell whether he's really back or not... he just got spanked after sitting on 4 base to 3 base most of the game, can he make the mental comeback to beat Pure? 'Cause you know Pure will bring the heat.

I feel like Bisu is not expanding aggressively enough in PvT's. He stayed even bases vs Midas for so long (even behind at one point). Compare that to Best's PvT where he ALWAYS gets that 3rd nexus so fast, then adds a 4th soon after, and never stops.

Yeah, definitely - I thought Bisu was going for an attack since he wasn't expanding when Midas took the 3rd earlier than he did, but nothing substantial came out of that...

Although Bisu won a couple of the battles he lost a lot more units than he should have.

Mainly 2 battles. 1) Outside the top left natural where Midas had a tank line reaching down almost to his natural. Bisu simply lost a lot of shit in this fight even though he killed Midas' main unit clump because so many stray units wandered off and died to the tank line. 2) Where Bisu tried to flank just southeast of that battle above with like 8-10 goons. He stasised a bunch of the shit in front(back units are better most of the time), rather than Midas' main clump a little north and that goon flank died almost instantly because there were no zealots in the mix. The tanks > those goons while all Midas' vultures at the bottom raped Bisu's zealots. With a proper flank and good micro Bisu could have had half his army left, rather than like 5-8 units like he did.

That on top of not securing enough expansions(you see how many probes got killed while sitting at a base before the nexus started?) lost him the game IMO.

I agree with this assessment of the game. Bisu was always behind and didn't squeeze every ounce from his units (no Storm before Archon shift); two bad decisions w/ Arbiters.

@ kona

WTF IS THAT GAME? SO KAWAII. :D

Someone hasn't seen maple story.

Hoping that Bisu vs Pure ends up being as epic as it was yesterday!

I hope pure isn't still shaken over the first loss to bisu, he had a huge advantage then threw it all away.

in a really short summary: a popular pvt trend is to rely on arbiter stasis (or recall in some cases) and a large number of high templars to fend off the first terran push. after that you transition to carriers with the freed up population, while buying time in whatever way you can. again, storms are crucial at this point.

Fantasy wouldn't be sent out on that map, it is horrible for TvP, so best/bisu were his best options.
