As a rather neutral observer with no clear bias for either player, I have to say these finals were both hugely disappointing and epic in different ways. Disappointing because the games themselves weren't very good, but epic because of the surprises, twists, turns, and the ugliness and messiness.

These finals were sort of like watching a no-brainer action flick with lots of BOOM BOOM and the underdog developing a super power and turning the tables with more boom, 'awww', flying arms and Pocari Sweat drenched ruins. That's cool in and of itself, but maybe not so much if you'd been expecting something more sophisticated.

One thing though: mega props to Effort for his mental strength. I don't think anyone believed that he still stood a chance when the score was 0-2 - props to this guy for pushing through. I think you can tell he has the determination of a beast.

I hope Flash recovers from this and doesn't end up free lunch for JD for MSL. I'd say right now, JD is probably the favorite to win. Flash is gonna practice his ass off next week.

Game 3 scouting wasn't luck. You don't send your Ovie to the middle for any reason for to check for a proxy. The star-sense pulling back to the hydras in the nick of time to block the double drop wasn't luck, either.

14 CC is not a safe nor standard build and Flash paid for opening so greedily. It's his own fault for putting himself in such a vulnerable position.

this is so funny how effort almost got eliminated in the round of 16 in that rerererererererer games and now the man who had lost so many games in a row then comes back to win the whole thing.. this is the best movie you will ever watch. Have faith!

It's kind of depressing because that was probably the worst OSL finals I've watched that wasn't a sweep. I wasn't crazy about JD vs fantasy (reverse kill was nice, but game quality was reallly... low...), but this series is in a sub-class of its own. And shame on all of you for mentioning the GGplay-Iris series in the same breath with this one. That series was highly competitive and actually had more than one game go to hive-tech (and game 5's epicness has to be in the top 5 games of all time). This series? More like material for an SC fan's stand-up bit.

There can only be one winner that is all. They both deserve it as much. bo5 isn't representative enough. i'd be curious to know the win rates in bests of 1000+ . Pretty much 50% for sure.
