And he gets outthinked always when playing against top foreigners. Nobody is telling he is a bad player, but there are a lot of foreigners better then him. I am glad that idra lost.

wow, you are a dipshit. Outthinked? He plays fucking terran. Terran isnt about thinking. Its about execution and mechanics more than the other races. Decision making isnt nearly as important most games. If you think there are a lot of non koreans better than him you are on drugs.

He lost. It happens to everyone. IMO the outsider game he got his siege way too late. But those are the breaks.

I think that was just one ranking tourney. So probably not always, although it shows his ability to do well in the professional environment.

edit: I believe Artosis mentioned that he placed second in an in-house B-team tourney or league. But I'm not positive

EPIC SERIES

(just watched idra-nony VODs with my roommate)

wow, that was earth-shattering in so many ways. So much credit to nony for the balls and the builds, but I have to feel for Idra. This tournament seemed handed to him on a silver platter: right before SC2 beta, when he's been trouncing foreigners for months and is finally starting to look like a Korean-made gosu (my jaw nearly hit the floor at his micro against NonY's gates in game 3, also in game 5 his defense was brilliant and left a glimmer of hope for fans when he was in a virtually unwinnable position). His attitude and competitiveness will really be missed in the later stages of the TSL, also if I read anything about his CJ teammates getting on him I will feel worse—they need to recognize that mistakes happen and Idra was up against some fantastic competition here.

Nony…what can we say? The pressure is now on him to win this tournament, after eliminating the favorite (also his countryman) and seeing Ret fall in the opposite side of the bracket. Last year Nony was my favorite non-Korean SC player but in his absence I'd become a big Idra fan…I hope Nony can roll through the rest of this tourney just to prove that USA has what it takes to win the TSL, and that he's still a force to be reckoned with.

I could just feel the emotions of the players in this series…so many great moments where it wasn't just units being microed around but REPUTATIONS and PRIDE. The hype for this match and the drama (game 2 and all the proxies) made it an intense experience to watch and the most nailbiting series I've seen in a long time. Artosis and Tasteless probably had great commentary but I was too busy yelling at the screen to hear it.

wowwwwwwwww just WOW. Thank you TSL.

watching game 5 was painful as hell, I saw him lift the CC and bring it to his ridge and clear his main of all but one goon and I waited for him to just drop the Command Center and finish his wall and just defend his ramp as best as possible. NonY cut so many probes that he was pretty much all-in this circumstance. BUT, the RO4 will be amazing. I'm Glad JF is playing amazing and showed he can play out of his element in PvP vs White-ra and Sen showed awesome Ling usage in his ZvZ. Glad to see Mondragon in the RO4 as well. I'm pretty new to the foreign scene and NonY really isn't one of the players I've watched too much about but congrats on getting this far and gl vs JF.

What an epic fail for Idra. Terran lovers and idra fanboys can whine all the want but the fact is this. Idra lives in korea for 2years now, he does nothing els then play starcraft all day in and outwith great people and coaches to make him better.

He is cocky as a little shit, predicts 3-0, talk about cheeses etc etc. And then he get beaten....again. WCG 2-0 to koll, TSL 3-2 to Nony, a player who have been very inactive for a while and just recently started to pick up his game. A bo5 serie Idra should not lose, sure 1 game but not a best of 5.

Maybe time for him to leave korea and focus on something els, SC clearly is not his thing.

On a side note. Here we have the biggest tourney in foreign SC. All the best is here and what happend. The top guys, the korean guys get beaten by some old school inactive players. Nony, JF and Mondi just decided to pick up the game, practice some more and then rape all.

Epic fail to Idra, Ret, White-Ra and all the other top guys.

I hope Nony or Mondi takes this, but what if JF just walks in from being inactive and just wins his second TSL in a row. That would be impressive.

At him.
Idra is still really good at SC, and he's been dominating the foreign scene this year.
Nony was just better than him today.

at him, IdrA is clearly a great player and has shown excellent results (winning almost every tournament outside of Korea) over the past year. SC is clearly his thing, he's devoted years of his life to it and continues to practice hard in conditions that have driven every other foreigner away.

and while I'm at it, a message to everyone who is getting on IdrA for being overconfident and predicting a 3-0: the public confidence of IdrA and NonY is what made this series enjoyable for you to watch. The fact that both players insisted they would win meant that reputation, dignity, pride, bragging rights, GLORY were all on the line.

Modesty is boring—in your average SC series all that's at stake is some money and maybe a few hours' worth of subdued congratulations on internet forums. IdrA and NonY risked their BALLS in this series, and that's why it's worth getting worked up about talking about.

It takes more stones to predict a win and lose than it does to hedge your bets, predict an "even series," and then win. IdrA fighting, he made this series the most gut-wrenching Bo5 I've ever watched.
