Dunno about the rest of you, but I enjoyed this series greatly. Then again, I am a biased Movie fan and somewhat of a Shine hater. But I personally enjoyed this series more than any other series in recent history. I was smiling all the way through with my fists raised up. The only two other games that I remember when I did that was during Stork v.s. Flash and also the ancient Bisu v.s. Flash game.
same here 1. TY Jon747 2. A crapload of us are Shine haters dont worry. 3. Finals should be decently good.
FUCK YEAH MOVIE! Flash 3-1 finals? maybe 3-2.

Due to his clubby fingers, Shine's Facepalms are wonderful. You really feal the pain.

Very successful scouting while keeping his build hidden, showing only +1 in the forge. Looked exactly like a mass +1 zealot opening but actually had a fast robo and dragoon range coming. Reaver + sair harass while pumping mass zealot, dragoon and reavers. This is your vod. hero does the standard 3 hat scourge 5 hat hydra opening and prepares for the +1 zealots he believes are coming. The rush he's wasting potential powerdroning time defending against never comes, instead 5 corsairs (the critical mass vs scourge) appear along with a speed upgraded shuttle. Zerg is caught unprepared and has no real air defence (relying on scourge that no longer work) and loses mining time + drones. Any counter will fail because of a solid wall + units + reavers. This harass is immediately followed by the toss breaking out his full army, still on 2 base, with reaver support and pushing into the zerg nat. No ht tech yet but a decent dragoon count to ward off potential mutalisks. Movie actually lost his first reaver but if you didn't you could potentially have 4 reavers with your army which would be devastating. Protoss stayed on 2 bases while attacking (although taking a 3rd here would certainly be an option) and masses a huge amount of dragoons + ht. Then in pure macro mode he overwhelms the zerg. The zerg never got a break this game. He was defending against a represented zealot rush and from then on it was reaver harassment into a big army in his nat into storm drops into a big army into his nat into protoss rally pointed at his nat. Typical opening by zerg but very innovative response by protoss. It's worth noting though that Movie couldn't have been so ambitious with his build if he hadn't had excellent probe scouting micro. http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/games/30678_hero_vs_Movie/vod On November 04 2009 01:21 KwarK wrote:Show nested quote +On November 03 2009 21:57 Aesop wrote: KwarK, which one would you rather have?
I just followed a recommendation there, and we have all the time to change it still.
I would prefer having a fairly standard game where Protoss does the things right that are usually done wrong - so Movie, e.g., wouldnt qualify with his awesome timing push, since we cannot expect it to be the overall solution. Movie vs hero wasn't really standard but nor was it a one hit wonder timing attack. It adds something new to the protoss arsenal that wasn't there before and which, as we saw, is potentially very dangerous. I believe it's a viable build which brings something fresh and dangerous to a matchup that has gotten pretty stale. On November 04 2009 07:47 KwarK wrote: I really liked the movie vs hero game because movie's build was not reliant on luck or the mistake of his opponent. It was an aggressive build in which the Protoss seizes the initiative and forces the zerg to play it his way with a succession of smoothly flowing attacks. Evidently movie knew from the start exactly how he intended to play it out. Because if his lings had scouted the lots like they were supposed to, the game would've turned out a lot differently. Watch movie vs hero. Hopefully that isn't too long. I cut it down a bit but I really like Movie right now and Savior is Savior so there was no way to reduce it further. With Bisu and Stork I know what I'm getting, top quality standard PvZ. But Jaedong worked out how to play against them and every good zerg can emulate it. Movie shows innovation, he stays on 2 bases when everyone else takes 3 and then throws out an unstoppable timing attack and wins. He messes around with reavers, shuttle openings, macro backed up with constant harass. In many ways he's a throwback to Bisu in the months directly after the MSL win when zergs just didn't know what to do. He has such a variety of openings which allow him to dominate the game flow and transition into massive, game ending, attacks. He is really unpolished right now and has been fortunate that his opponents treat him like just another Protoss but it's working for him. Still, I feel if players started suiciding overlords in his main more often early game he'd lose to the superior mechanics of zergs.

- Game 2 clearly shows how useful a DA would have been against a pure muta army for Stork. Too bad Stork thought pure lots and HT is more effective against pure muta for 10 minutes.
- There a few things more satisfying in SC than a reaver popping 5-6 hydras at once, creating a nice pile of mush
- Shine is still fun to watch, not just when he's crying, looking forward to seeing more of him
- same for movie, 'cos he always looks like he's taking a dump

Shine hate is so retarded it hurts. Yeah I sure am upset that a guy who plays like a modern Julyzerg and produces incredibly entertaining games and series' is winning a lot, yep that sure does burn my biscuits. I hate players that have a distinct style, especially if it calls to mind one of the all-time greats and is very aggressive and entertaining to watch, producing fast-paced, exciting games, win-or-lose.
Also the fact that he's so respectful and a genuinely nice guy really makes me want to punch Shine in the face. I hate manner players like Shine and Nal_rA almost as much as I hate flamboyant entertainers like FBH!

Awesome awesome, I haven't watched the series yet but this is definitely awesome news. Nothing personal against Shine but honestly, he needs more experience and refinement before he has what it takes to win an OSL.

HOLY SHIT FUCK YAER MOVIEEEEEE

I think Shine's raping of Stork and Bisu show that Shine has learned the lessons JaeDong taught about modern ZvP and is exploiting the vulnerable styles of the modern Protoss. Movie is a throwback. His corsair with dt/reaver openings into massive 2 base macro were first seen in games 2 and 3 of the famous MSL series vs savior. Protoss started playing for the late game and zerg responded by a mixture of midgame attacks and lategame dominance. Movie has reminded us that Protoss still has the midgame of Bisu.

Same for me during the live games man, I thought I really liked Flash but in those games vs Best I was near emotionless. Today I was like jumping up and down, especially during game 2 and then when that little pressure move in game 4 finished the series for movie.

Lol, this is a great post. You are right, the hate is unreasonable but after today I kinda started understanding it, it's absolutely wrong I know, but it is just really frustrating when you feel like your favourite player deserves to win but still doesn't (not saying that bisu or stork should have won vs shine but obviously there's a lot of people who think so)

Shine is the shittest player ever and if I wanted to watch someone go hydra all in or muta all in 5 games in a row I can probably make an AI to do that. I don't care about him knocking out stork or bisu but MAKE MUTAS isn't an entertaining playstyle.
Go movie!

Wow, so glad that Movie won Set 1 with Shine doing that cannon break -_-

Shine is a punk, end of discussion. I'm gladly Movie beat him today. But seriously, he is a top 5 zerg player.

Go Movie! Up and coming newbie against unbeatable monster in the finals. I think this is the next best thing aside from a final between 2 top players. If Movie loses (as expected), oh well, no shame in losing to Flash. But if Movie somehow wins, OMFG!!!!!JizzInMyPants!!!!! =D

Rooting for Flash, but Legend of the Fall lives on.

Holy cow YES MOVIE, SO GOOD! :D
Even in the game he lost he played great. What a guy =D
