I guess Shine is on a roll since he has won a couple over a couple of S-rank gamers. Though he did lose to Hwasin twice in the MSL qualifiers. And Hwasin was playing mediocre.

And Hwasin was playing mediocre. Hence, a Flash v.s. Shine final will be only a slight upgrade from a Zerg v.s. Zerg final. If you take a look at Shine's ZvT record, it is quite dismal. Sure, he defeated Fantasy. But Fantasy executed a fail build. He may have 2-1 Really. But Really is no Flash and that was BO3. I will definitely credit him as being a strong ZvP player and a good ZvZ player. I admit he is very good at ZvP. But if the road that he has walked thus far is similar to July's EVER run, which involves fighting against just Protoss and some ZvZ, it still doesn't establish him as an all-round top class player. But to his credit, Shine killed Bisu and Stork, while July killed Backho, Rock and then Best.

He had a BO opening loss vs Up and was behind economically and STILL managed to make a game out of it. Most other Protoss players (see NBS) would have been fucking rolled immediately. Not really...Movie made a game out of it because Upmagic, like always, was pretty sloppy that game. He got back into it because he destroyed one of Upmagic's first massive pushes, which was due to the carelessness of Upmagic who was kind of out of position and had basically no vultures to stop zealots running through his tanks. I don't think Flash is the type of player to massively screw up on positioning and unit composition.

![]() and sure, it's Z favored, but a lot of those wins were because the zerg was better i.e. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() the only losses where you could argue the P was better were Shine vs Stork, hero vs Movie, and hyuk vs pure. and hero and shine are both ZvP snipers EDIT: also, losing to Hwasin isn't bad, hwasin's TvZ is still great. shine's still something like 7-4 in ZvT since the start of the season

I don't know if it was a "massive" screw up but BeSt definitely did something about it.

There's a lot of times that Flash is caught out of position by good protoss players but generally he isn't caught out like Upmagic was. I think in the Fighting Spirit case though, Flash didn't expect high templars from Best, which is extremely stupid in my opinion but it does kind of make sense since Best generally doesn't seem to use them in PvT.

Shine has shown wonderful aggression, micro, and in-game strategy. Movie has shown creativity, atypical changeup play, with solid mechanics. Should be a great series, even though these are newer players!
