I think movie has a good shot against Light. HBR is a very PvT favored map, and the new maps looks at least balanced in the MU. And Light's TvP isn't exactly amazing.
But I think it'll be Light > hero or hero > Movie in the 2nd match though.

Did the author forget that Movie eliminated Hero from the Avalon MSL? Yes Heros zvp is his strongest mu, but Movies pvz is his strongest mu. Movie SHOULD win this group.

The thing about movie is that he can play dumber than a goon or look like prime much with upgrades. I really hope he shows us the good side, because he can be a really interesting fit for a group of death.

If Light can beat Movie (even though Light's TvP isn't all that great), he will probably beat Hero. But if Movie wins, he will probably get crushed by Hero's ZvP. Either way, I don't really care who wins. Go go, strongest player!

I think that this group is totally open - anyone can win this. Both Light and Movie are the least impressive at TvP, so I'll say it's balanced (though I think Movie's creativity may give him a slight edge), and Hero has impressed me quite a few times, so I have no idea how this is going to unfold.

Light took out Movie's recalled troops easily when his tanks arrived, but Movie's at 5 bases to 2 now. Smells like... inevitability!

Cross map PvT on huge maps like this is a pain in the ass for T T__T, attack somewhere, you get recalled/backstabbed and by the time you kill the P main he has a 2nd main ready.

Meh, after the unanswered 12 nex I don't think Light really had much of a chance. If Movie hadn't gone arbiters so early, he would have been able to do something else, up to and including just running Light over with units, or containing him and taking the map.
Also, Light REALLY failed to take advantage of his ability to counter that last recall into his main. He trashed everything Movie had on defense and neglected to actually push another screen's width forward to trash Movie's gates and nat.

I don't get why people are praising movie. Light's only (albeit huge) mistake was not being able to emp the arbitors, which he saw with vultures, etc. Only thing I saw that was noteworthy was dual-arbitor recall which Light didn't emp. Maybe he just didn't have it researched it yet.

Movie fails at blocking his ramp and Light gets an SCV in to spot, but Movie is fast and starts up his Cybernetics Core and the goon kills the SCV before it gets near the templar tech.
EDIT: yeah. Seems that Light actually saw the core starting to spin. Dead give-away.

Now a robo, DT out, light getting to scout, Movie not breaking in. Not looking too excellent for our hero. Scan is done.
Scan barely brings down the first DT, but Light has two of them (one at the CC he already has to fast expand with, but still has in his base) cuz he's sexy. Robo support warping in. Second DT down. Movie tries some bullshit to delay the expo, doesn't do too well.

Three stargate carriers moving out towards Light's nearest base, ground army moving out in the meantime. Light saw the carriers too soon though, he's putting up tons of cannons, and no gas for storm is making Light do a lot better in the ground battle. Still got overwhelmed by zealgoon, but did more damage. A lot more damage.

Thats cos people like bisu don't stay on 1 base while suiciding dt's continuously. Harass is fine, but if you are going to do nothing BUT harass, then you'd better hope it's as effective as that every time. Kal used to suffer from the same problem. Good shuttle based harass, but his multitask/macro was terrible when he did it.

He harassed a lot, but generally awfully badly. He kept suiciding DT's without doing any damage, and if you want to see proper reaver harassment go watch a game with Jangbi. Bisu would've done better harassment while multitasking (how long did Movie stay on 2 bases?).

lol movie had to let light take equal bases for a long time because he went for fast DTs (that didnt work) with a shuttle to help the DT harass (that didnt work) THEN with a reaver followup (that got 6 SCV kills, but not enough). this is why it got to the point where it was 3 base v 3 base

no, don't get me wrong, I'm not stupid, he did really well to attack right there, but he had SO many zealots and barely killed any hydras. I meant "bad" as in "could have accomplished a lot more but didn't really seem to do anything". The reaver got more hydra kills than like 18 zealots did.

Yep. The count is now 3 Protoss (Pusan, Stork and Movie), 1 Terran (Fantasy), 6 Zerg (Yarnc, type-b, JD, Shine, Kwanro and Calm). 6 spots left, out of them EffOrt, Flash and ZerO seem to be clear favorites... but then again, so was Bisu.

Seeing those names makes me fear for another zergfest come the ro8 or something... I mean I love Movie, Pusan and Stork but I dont give them much of a chance against Zero/JD/Effort or even Calm tbh, and I'm not sure if the Terrans can wade trough enough zergs to make a difference ^^

The only reccomended games are Game 2 MOvie vs Light and Game 3 Movie vs hero, the rest of the games are okay but really not that good, bad play by the losers in the other games and they pretty much got steamrolled, the 5 games were pretty good,but if you had to pick watch those 2.

It seems from recent PvZ matches, that protoss are definitely aiming for specific timings and take advantage of greedy play by zerg. Movie vs hero first game is a perfect example of zerg simply droning so much he can't even stop a simple 3 sair/dt play.
That said, if the protoss can't do big damage with harass/pressure(game 2), it's still the same old templar snipe + a-move hydras for the win.

I think it has more do with Heros successful harass, dropping Hydras into Movies main. Movie wasn't just outmacroed, his economy was way behind because of the harass. If Movie had a better defense or scouted what Hero was doing, Movie could of won.

The third game in the movie vs by.hero set is one of the best pvzs in the past year.
|
movie is a starleague type player. he has the "I can beat you" face. he doesnt get riled up enough in proleague but his starleague appearances are always dramatic and engaging. he is definitely one of the rising stars in pro starcraft as far as i can see. today he put his all into the light match and dominated with a collected confidence. his only problem is that he has nothing left for hero. the mst is such a difficult format.

No. He doesnt. And I remember when I said Movie was top 3 PvZ like 3-4 months ago everyone called me a moron. I still wouldnt put him over Free and Bisu at this point, despite free barely pvzing, and bisu losing to zergs. Stork is Stork hell go beat Jaedong then lose to like some random zerg, so its hard to call him the best, but hes been playing somewhat good PvZ.
My next person to watch out for in PvZ is Iron[kal] ive mentioned him before, but well see.
edit: beating Light is a big deal, but is it me or were all these maps pretty damn terran unfriendly.

Again hes barely had any vs Zerg matches, however he plays modesty tonight and has luxury and hogil in msl groups. He still managed to beat jaedong last season, and finally the game against y.ch shows he still has it. You cant rule him out on the basis of him not having played games vs zergs.
