Atrioc said he would send me one if he makes one, so sit tight. In the meantime, enjoy this silly picture of Jaedong. He didn't send me one. Enjoy silly Jaedong.
Why is Oz intent on sending Killer out. I suppose they might be trying to rebuild his confidence after he lost the last series for them.
I'm rooting for Oz, but I honestly don't see how these MUs are good for Oz in anyway. I'm not liking killers chances against kwanro at all (after seeing what he did against modesty), free will be a big favorite over perfectman and lomo is hit and miss.

I believe that, espeically if he's not sent for ace today.
oh my, this could be why Hiya wasnt sent out today o.O
I wouldnt worry about that, HiyA is doing fine maybe Hwaseung OZ just wants to develop players like Killer and PerfectMan to have a team with more depth
Killer < Kwanro - even though Kwanro hasn't been playing that well, I think he'll be able to net Stars a win. Jaedong > Zero - Zero has beaten Jaedong once out of like nine encounters. Plus, he is like 0-3 vs Zerg on Hearbreak. Plus he is playing Jaedong. Lomo > MVP - No idea. Random guess. Perfectman < free - I think free's experience will be able to pull him through for a win. Jaedong < free - If this was the old Outsider, I would say Jaedong would be able to beat free, but if free can transition well into late game then I see Stars winning this over Oz 3-2.
Honestly, I'd rather have OZ send out more non-JD players out to ace early on in the season for experience sake than just be stuck as a one-player team. I think it's a really smart move on the coach's part to give the team more depth as others have said.

If that is true (and it may very well be true, considering how much bullshit that Oz got last season for its Jaedong heavy strategy), my Fantasy is screwed and Oz may also get screwed.
Flash got the best shot at the MVP title this season, so it seems.
By the way, awesome OP. I stared at it for a good 3 seconds and had to chuckle.
I just want to see Jaedong in ACE and prove it to me that I did not make the biggest mistake possible when I traded away Flash for Jaedong minutes before Fantasy signup was closed.
Maybe Oz is using R1 (and maybe R2) as their experiment phase. If it does not turn out as they expected, they can always abuse JD's appearance in the last 3 rounds and still make it to the play-offs or even grand finals. I think it's a good idea because boosting young players confidence and experience is exactly what they need right now. Sure they can always send out Jaedong twice in every match, but what will happen if he's overloaded again? Either they should get the like of Killer, or Perfectman to be decent enough to get wins on a more regular basis, or hope that the failband of Backho/Lomo/Hiya to actually contribute something.
Killer < Tornado > Kwanro Whatever hope that Oz coach may see in Killer, I don't share it yet. The MSL Pokemon silver medalist should be able to take this matchup on paper. Upset is very much possible, considering the nature of ZvZ.
Jaedong < Heartbreak Ridge > ZerO It's JvZ, and the "Z" does not stand for Zerg, but Zero who has not been doing all that well with ZvZ. I don't see any potential for upsets here and for the sake of all of us who own Jaedong, please let there be NO upset!
Lomo < Moon Glaive > MVP The only non-Jaedong matchup here that Oz should be able to take on paper. Admittedly, Lomo has not been doing great and MVP may be a match for him. But in Lomo, we believe. His great non-homo friendship with Jaedong shall carry him through.
PerfectMan < Match Point > free[gm] I think that we are long past the Perfectman for Bonjwa stage...or are we? (secretly, I enjoy all the hilarious bonjwa hypes). Free has one of the worst PvP amongst the now fading 6 dragons. But still, on paper, Free should be able to overtake the relatively inexperienced Perfectman. This might be a fun matchup.
OK, so on paper, this should end up with 2-2. Knowing how unpredictable Starcraft has been these couple days (Bisu v.s. Shine cough SKT v.s. Estro cough), I doubt this will happen...But in the end, we may very well come down to Ace!
While Outsider was a relatively balanced map, albeit slightly Zerg favored, we haven't seen enough of Outsider SE to make a definitive judgment on it. What is known, however, is that thus far only Zergs have won any matches on this map. Zerg IMBA? No clue. But that means there will be a very good chance that either Zero or Kwanro will be sent for ACE. Zero is a likely candidate.
So the question is, who will be Oz's ACE?
If this was pre-Modesty v.s. Killer, 96% of us would yell "Lee-Jaedong"!
But today, I am gonna put my foot down and say Hiya.
What the fans REALLY want, however, is Jaedong. Is Coach Cho gonna tell the fans to "screw" and send other players out? It is very likely and I can see his logic behind it. After all, it is not easy being called an "one man team".
You know who would be a really entertaining ACE player? Backho. Fund it!

Jaedong = 10 points to buy, return = 5 points so far If I picked Flash, I'd have got... a lot more already =( Not to mention Stork's 0 points so far (my team captain), but that's not relevant to this thread.

I have both, and while I'm glad I modified things so I could get Flash as well, Woongjin hasn't worked out so well thus far. Can't say this is looking good either, but I can't exactly give them up!
Yeah, The Dong has been scoring kinda low, but in the end he will come around. Actually I believe long term he is going to earn you as much points as Flash.
Considering the fact that Kwanro has the most impressive record on Outsider, he's (statistically) a favorite against Jaedong with 53.7% chances of winning in an ace match. It would come down to build order, since the map advantage (JD is only average on it) cancels out the mechanics advantage (JD is a beast). Against any other player, JD is a favorite by at least 4:3 odds.
Actually, Kwanro is so good on Outsider that it would be foolish to send anyone other than Jaedong against him. lomo would be the second choice, and Kwanro has well over a 70% chance against him.
Oz should lock Killer in a cage and poke him with sharp sticks for a while after his epic fails. I know putting him in the lineup is supposedly good for his confidence and all, but screw that new age crap, just beat the bastard after every loss and watch him practice harder.

That doesn't work anymore, he'll just join the army.

To be fair to Kwanro he has played two ZvZ's which is a luck matchup and another game against Flash.
I think it has been proved that ZvZ is not a luck macthup. JD Calm and effort ripping them up.
Yep. It is volatile and I would say it has a slightly bigger factor of luck than most MU's, but to just blame losses on luck is plain dumb. Skill is a very big part of if, and the better player wins most of the times. Jaedong has proved that.
On October 19 2009 19:07 Jakalo wrote: To be fair that was bo loss, but Jaedong should have won nevertheless
True but Jaedong had the Drones at his natural and elected not to use them in the deciding fight (or actually he pulled 2 too late and they contributed literally no hits while the lings were fighting). He definitely could have played better.
Doesn't matter though, as a Flash fan I know firsthand that the time to be playing your best is not in some random PL game while you're resting for both leagues but rather during the elimination rounds where it counts. Jaedong just got 200K (I hope) and will step it up when it counts.
Ahh, don't complain about the BO...to be honest, I think that JD should have pulled more drones to hold off that attack...but whatever, this just means that Stars have more chance of getting to the ace match, where JD has a chance to redeem himself.
Unless OZ sends out Backho for ace match or something.

JD wasnt outmicroed, he just attacked when Zero's speed kicked in.

Even worse, so far every single one of Jaedong's matches has been against someone I also have on my fantasy team

That's a good thing
Precisely - guaranteed 6 points - 2x2 for ace match appearances, 2 for one player's win, -1 for one player's loss, and 1 for one player's team win. The outcome of the match doesn't matter!
It really looked like the first game. Zero is not stupid, he knows he cant beat JD straight up with muta micro, so he tried to break JD with lings knowing he optimizes ling count juust enough.
Damn, this is even better than him winning in his previous set. Thinking about it, I hope most of Oz starts sucking so he can win his game and go to ace, get in a streak, and give tons of points.

that's why he almost got forced out by his parents to begin with :O, cuz everyone else was sucking and he was pulling the load
thank you Oz coach for sending the right man to the ace, it delivers! for a second i was afraid that JD is gonna lose twice to Zero, what kind of fanboy am i ;<

it happens to every player when they transfer to a new team. The only player I can think of that ever transferred to a new team and actually did better and not worse was July to STX from SKT1 (and I guess Frozean to STX from KHAN although it's still too early to tell).
