I can't wait to go to this. It's finally in a place where I can realistically go

Just gotta renew my visa for the mainland and I'm good to go!

Looks like the window for a possible non korean winning it all is closing rapidly. Some of the past ones had some good outcomes with non koreans placing.

what's the best chance like idra/ra/chinese? Yeah it doesn't look good at all with those koreans players.

Oh goodness me, FOX tv where do you get your sight? Can't you keep track, the puck is black. That's why the ice is white.

As I said the second was probably going to happen and it did, Guatemala WCG 2009 got cancelled... but a week ago I got a mail asking for my help with WCG but sadly Starcraft is not going to get a ticker, it will be only a FIFA tournament. not my game but I support any kind of E-Sports on my country so I am willing to help, hopefully my work will help to get a ticket next year for a Starcraft (or Starcraft II maybe)

So you can remove Guatemala from the list...sadly.... oh, it will be probably played on October 17-18.

Well, the years where non-Koreans placed usually had one or both things happen:
1. Bad seeding pit Koreans against each other early
2. Upsets in WCG Korea caused less than stellar players to get in

Usually, when Korea sends 3 really good players, they place 1-2 and sometimes even 3.

just so everyone is aware, there will be less competitors than in previous years because of the bad economy. It is likely that the tournament will be 4 groups of 7 or 8 players with 8 players (top two from each group) advancing to a single elimination tournament).

WCG seeds countries so that they won't end up in the same group unless they are the final country to be drawn. They begin the drawing with the winning country and then proceed alphabetically. So the final countries drawn will likely be Germany and Italy.

I really want to thank everyone for providing the information of the various WCGs. I'm sorry for not updating quickly.

Any additional information you can provide will be greatly appreciated

Also, sorry Kawoq that WCG Guatemala Starcraft got cancelled, that sucks

i really dont see any foreigner beat 2 players of the bisu/jd/stork lineup, not even with all the foreigner powers combined. and this is already assuming that there is a korean-only matchup in the first k.o.-round.

bisu jaedong stork, wtf, there is not the slightest hope for foreigners this year...

let's be fair here, even if ret was there it would probably be 1/2/3 sweep for the Koreans

Make this a liquidbet for WCG: Over/Under .5 games lost by Bisu/Stork/Jaedong to Non-Korean players.

there is always something good with bad news, I am helping the organizers with the FIFA tournament so I think I have a good chance to get more involved for next year so maybe SC will be there (SC II???)

I can imagine Stork dropping a PvZ to someone like Rafa or Sen. Probably due to some all-in play, but then again Rafa has some really good macro.

Who was it last year that Maix took to some 45 minute game?
