It's a website and Mondragon basically talks about how to play ZvP but one thing that was weird was going 9 hatch, does anybody do this strat? And if so (and even if you don't) do you all know how you would execute this? This bo is for a rush but he says it works well for most of the time and thats what he usually does.

So I'm guessing you go 9 hatch, you have one larvae left, would that be for an overlord or a drone? And getting 200 more minerals after making an overlord would take a while considering you have 8 or 9 drones. Help?

It's a good build for ladders though, since there's a lot of cheese on them.

careful, the p can go 1gate reav if your not careful, if the positions are far away i like to drop a 8pylon 10gate 12pylon build and go straight to reavs and just destroy lings or drones, and then up to double gate and run the zerg over. Been working well for me lately against 12 hatch 11 pool builds

Mondi likes it because it's not as vunerable to rushes and doesn't delay your expo.

I don't really like it because at a lower level, it doesn't help you that much against 2 gate. Whenever i lose to 2 gate, my micro was usually poor.

ZvP i usually 12 hatch 11 pool, or slow 9 pool. (meaning i get ovie first)

have you ever played against that build, the 12 pylon allows you to get massive amounts of minerals and non stop zealots.
sorry forgot to mention that this build only works on maps with ramps, if its got an open route to your main i just double gate hah

it may get u a few wins but its a pretty weak strat, 10gate 12 pylon going straight for reavers makes u so vulnerable to mutaling. however since D ranks on iccup usually just avoid builds that require a brain and good micro. also D ranks expect dt every game

i'd usually scout out the mutaling early on its a easily detectable build, and if i did see that you can use the robo for obs and cannon/goon or temp, the money saved from the reav's gas adds up if you dont use it, i dunno it gets me by on b.net all the time against 12 hatches

You saw pros using it back in like 2003 or something too? I remember a Mumyung FPVOD on Nostalgia using this build (or was it 11 pool instead of 9 pool a the end...pretty much same thing, 9 hatch ov pool).

This build isn't so great against FE or 1 gate tech, although it handles 2 gate very well. Don't bother unless you know your opponent really likes 2 gate and you're playing on a 2 gate kind of map. And even then, 12 pool or 9 ov 9 pool is much much more common these days for anti-rush.

Ok thanks guys, so the 9 hatch, 9 overlord, 9 pool is only used for 2 gate. Btw you all ever hear about the 6 gate? It does some good harassing if zerg doesnt 4 pool or do something crazy.

And about that 12 pylon, does it work well against 12 pool 11 hatch, or 12 pool 12 hatch (sometimes what I do but gets owned by 2 gate)?

And for your third hatchery, is it at 14 usually? After I make the hatch, the pool is just finished and I make 4-6 lings but then again, 2 gate comes and > it.

How many games have you played so far, if it's more then 10 that's surprising. Ladders attract cheesers who just want fast wins and points, i don't really do good on ladders beceuase i prefer playing strait up games. Getting proxi/bbsed sucks when you 12h.

Yea just make 8 lings and send 3-4 drones to fight off 2gate rushes, just dont over-micro like every shitty player who thinks hes good does.

6pyl6gate is basically a lower-econ 1gate tech that gets its advantage depending upon how many workers you kill with it. It's never usually a gg'ing move, after the first two zeals or so, you stop attacking and block up your ramp. You can always turn it into a 2gate, but I've found 9/10gate is better for that.

When do people usually scout with this build? Every drone seems crucial when you have such a low drone count as you do when using this build.

I guess finding him early or using the 2nd ovie and catching it, or just have an overlord in front of ur base but I dont think that would give you enough time to stop it. So yeah, just find him early
