Too many Hollywood movies, man. Sounds like good american movie moral. Ok. Let's try another one:
"It's better to grow up, respect your opponent and yourself than to keep up being a rude immature douch."
There is a big difference between being mondane and going for nerd rage every two weeks in front of 10 000 people. MistrZZZ used to be quite bm, but it was humoristic and done in purpose. IdrA just can't control himself.

Ever since Korea took SC to the professional level, the BM and GM shit has gone way too far. It's amazing how Starcraft has become so "serious" nowadays. "OMG he said GG before the game ended!!" This is obviously a big thing if some professional gamer did that in Korea. But wtf LOL ... What happened to the old days when video games were just games. Imho, everyone who went crazy over the bm really needs to lighten up. Don't let the social norms of Korea eat you up. I'm not saying it's bad, but come on just think about it ... who cares LOL!! It's not like he explicitly told Fenix that he sucks ass and that he lost a chance to go to Korea. That would be a different story ... Little things like the early GG make me giggle.

In the other hand, IdrA is totally serious in his bm. He is not trying to be funny, and, in a certain extand, he doesn't even do it in purpose.

That's the entertaining and funny thing about him. Many people here on TL seem to be against him as well as most foreigners that play SC. Ofc, he's going to have this bottled-up emotion and let it out. Just imagine your alone in a house where you're the only American and you're far away from home. Plus, you got gosu koreans owning you everywhere and ppl on TL and GG.net attacking and expecting a lot from you. Damn, gotta give him props for not giving up and keepin' the flow. That's kinda manly in a way

I personnaly care that a player insult another one and act like a dick in a public match. Same way that if I go to a chess tornament and one of the players refuse to shake hand, I would be disturbed (and btw, he would be disqualified imediately). And when soccer players simulate, insult each others or act like dicks, I am disturbed too (that's why I don't like soccer, btw).

It happens in all sports and competition. Bm will always be existent and you just gotta deal with it. What I'm saying is that the levels of BM and how people define it in SC is so funny. Like I said, "OMG he said GG before the gamed ended!!" LOL ...... big deal? In American culture, this would be funny. But I have to keep in mind that different cultures (Europe, Asia, etc) might perceive this differently and the degree of seriousness would be different. So I apologize, you're right. Anyways, we all have our opinions on when things really start going too far or start becoming too offensive ...

If you are saying that Idra is not entertaining, I beg to differ
If you look at dictionary.com
one of the definitions of "entertain" is - to hold the attention of pleasantly or agreeably; divert; amuse.
And to that end, if you see the reaction of people to Idra's games, he definitely accomplish the goal of being entertaining ( consciously or unconsciously ). During his games, there are always a lot of discussion going on, there's the haters who wish he'd lose and there are also the more light hearted people watching out for his BM moments and frankly, its amusing as heck. If you watch the casts of these games, Idra's BM even creates interesting/entertaining responses from the Artosis/Tasteless, which is... entertaining. Even when the games are over, his BM-ness evokes response from the community from famous figures like Rek ( who always makes entertaining posts ).
And to characterize his BM-ness as totally serious would be false too. As a lot of people have said, its simply nerd-rage. If you look at previous instances of his BM-ness ( such as to strelok ), Idra admits afterwards that he's been acting like an ass. The guy is obviously caught up in the spur-of-the-moment nerd-rage, which makes it very...... ENTERTAINING! just look at how many views the nerd-rage videos on youtube has, many people are entertained by it.
As any polarizing figure, there will be always lovers/haters to Idra, but to say that he is not entertaining is just wrong.
I stand behind my statement about the dancing part....

nerd-rage is totally serious nerds don't rage for no reason

I cant belive fenix kept his cool while being under a constant barrage of insults from idra. Grow up idra stop calling people gosus or typing gg you child. I'm not surprised fenix said he will kill you because if you did this to me I would probably devote my life to destroying you. One day you might learn that if you say nothing everyone will love you. What's wrong with you crazy child?
such unbelievable behavior.

We could put him on a pro team in Korea and see if that helps... oh wait...

Haha I like how there can't be a post about Idra without there being a BM/GM topic in it.

How about a plugin that automatically sends "gg" when you quit the game.

One of the rules for ESWC qualifiers was
"- All players must maintain good manner and fair play."
Which Idra clearly didn't do, so imo he should be removed from the competition for rule breaking.

Good manner is such a sliding scale that it would be bullshit to remove someone for that. Beyond that he played fair. Idra plays like a goddamn asshole, but he shouldn't be removed.
