A female friend of one of the users over at netwars.pl posted a picture of her hugging Suncow, taken during her holidays she spent in Egypt, at nasza-klasa.pl (something like facebook). She obviously didn't know who he was, she just met him there and hooked up with him. Imagine her shock when hundreds of netwars geeks flooded her profile with comments about "Suncow" and "ZerG". He's probably still working there.

I'm not sure how I missed that. edit: just checked again and it's right there on page three; I must have somehow missed clicking that page. I feel like a fool. Why didn't you click the "All" button first, then proceed with using "Find" ? ![]() Another small bit I could contribute: When I was playing WoW, in my guild there was a character named Asmodey, who was from Ukraine. And his English was unbearably horrible (fits perfectly to the BW player as well iirc, I played with him a few games on WGT or smth. when he was still active). He always dodged the question when I asked if he was the same Asmodey who played BW (or maybe he didnt' understand me lol ![]()

GreatZyneck is playing poker. sYs is playing poker, I heard he went to USA and got into debt (no idea if it's true tough) The singe player I miss the most is H_PauL_WII and all the guys from GameNet, mentioned HERE. Seriously, when we were in top shape it felt like being in a korean pro team ![]() http://netwars.pl/modules.php?name=news&id=12989&dzial=3 Sweet memories ![]() Ah, thanks. Wasnt Fizban fairly young when he won the WCG 2002 prelim ? I seem to remember something about him only being 16 years old or something. Kinda early to stop bw @ 18 then anyways. I think he would have adjusted to the current play pretty good as his mechanics were very good, and he had the korean approach to the game IE one BO for each position, in each matchup, on each map. I remember his games on Korhal TvP were identical. Very tidy building placement like supply depots at one place, and his factory very tightly fit together NTT/Slayer-style. Ah well, you know what he was studying in Korea ?

I paid so much attention to him when he first debuted, (which was not long ago), and his hilarious playstyle was very entertaining to watch. Has he just fallen away lately? More of a gimmick player than anyone with promise? Are you kidding me? He's playing at least once a week in Proleague and is through to the OSL Ro16 and the MSL Ro32.

Ah well, you know what he was studying in Korea ? Yeah, he was very young. He kept on switching races, so he became something of a mu picker. And he played *identically* on every map, in every match-up. His building placement was *always* the same on a given position, he even rebuilt each one in the same exact position after he lost it. He started playing like that around WCG2k3. He stopped playing and concentrated on his education soon after, he probably comes back from time to time (the last time I saw him playing was in 2k6).

Well, I'm writing a lengthy post on old school starcraft and random research i've done (it was supposed to be my 1000th post but i fucked up and i'm nowhere near done because i post too fast anyway... Zileas went to MIT. Zileas got hired by Blizzard. He was in charge of balance patches for Warcraft 3, ran a site that's no longer up (zileas.com), wrote a few wc3 strategy guides that are now out of date. I believe he worked on World of Warcraft early in development, not 100% sure on this. That would be ironic though considering "Zileas hopes to one day design or discover the perfect game, one that is so addictive that legislation has to be passed to curb its societal effects. " on the ethermoon/shadowstrife website. He quit blizzard for unknown reasons, stopped working on his site Zileas.com and that site moved to shambler.net and he handed over control to other people. eventually that fell apart too and wasn't used any longer. He was hired by Red 5 Studios, one of these "dream-team" type companies that is imo likely going to fail just like others that came before it did (ex. Ion Storm). They work on MMOs. see here: http://www.red5studios.com/en/news/2007/07/03/we8217-re-going-to-need-a-bigger-tiki-bar/ "Tom Cadwell is our newest producer, and a former Blizzard Entertainment employee. Having worked on such titles as Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, World of Warcraft, and Strifeshadow, the self-described beer and wine aficionado has an impressive array of games under his belt, and is also armed with an MBA from Kellogg. Oh, and never question his Starcraft skills." I assume that is where he still is now.

mostly school stuff nowadays (at USC for grad school). harvey mudd kinda forced me to quit since it was such an insanely hard school. also, my carpal/cubital/radial tunnel + tendonitis played a major factor in forcing me to quit. it's all better now, but i haven't really picked it back up
