Cause of his dominance back then also that fighter forum picture from the angle it was taken at really looks like hail. But then we wouldn't get savior vs nal_ra being a holy war with some great vids.

dear seojihoon,

for years now, i have watched you from afar... i cheer for all your wins... i am sad when you lose... To me in all ways but the physical we are inseperably close... i became your fan when you showed godly play at the great World Cyber Games and again the year after...

i was so happy to see your story... your journey at the greatest competition world cyber games... I was touched by your emotion on stage... you cried and i cried... your mothers story.. your experiences... made you a great champion of world cyber games... at night after sleep you practised with all your might... with your passion you worked at perfecting your craft... birthing your famous nickname... my personal favourite in all professional gaming in korea... oh DDR terran you are so good...

i suffered many critisisms on forums like teamliquid for my fan enthusiasm... much mocking for my devotion and praises of you... you the great world cyber games champion... the perfect terran... i know they just envy... i am your biggest fan... through the television i see.. your emotion your heart makes me flutter and fart... for me seojihoon mighty warrior of the world cyber games... you are perfect...

lovingly yours always, Carlo

Thank you for clarification.

I still wonder about this - I think I do not have to elaborate on Hitler's crimes against humanity.
Using this figure for any kind of jokes attests to deficits in education, immature behaviour, or both.

[...] Trying to hide the past instead of bringing it into the public eye for ridicule will only lead to future incidents. Think about it: who would you rather imitate: the butt of all jokes or a person that is only whispered about and censored? Obviously the censored person would have some draw from impressionable adolescents. By making the figure of Hitler, an evil dictator responsible for deaths of millions, comparable to a Korean Zerg progamer famous for his overwhelming victories, we are making Hitler look like a fool, and thus a few people will laugh and not even deign to imitate him.

Well, IMO, the most probable effect of underlying a video of a popular progamer with a speech of Hitler will not be "making Hitler look like a fool" (why?), but instead of associating Hitler and the Nazi war machine (that also had overwhelming victories) with a well-liked, successful, popular progamer. In context of gosu play, peppy music, this will make the whole thing "cool", I fear.

Censorship for our protection and sensititivity is still censorship.

I am not talking about censorship. It is rather a matter of good taste what to put in context. I.e., helicopter jokes are fun, unless you make them in presence of a guy sitting in a wheel chair due to a heli accident (Silvio Berlusconi, I think, at that time Italian prime minister, did that).

Have you heard of Godwin's law? It's a "natural law" that states that the longer an Internet conversation goes on, a reference to Hitler or the Nazis will be made.
Well good sir, you have proved it right again.

No! Funny :-)
I wonder if that "law" is true for any given subject :-)

I jsut love the way he awaits his opponents play and make his move. Secondly I love the way Effort plays, I have a thought that Savior is teaching him many different things.

Drop the hitler debate, this isn't a thread for discussing world politics and political correctness. Fact: Savior was known as the matler (ma + hitler). End. Go debate hitler elsewhere

The Battle
+ Show Spoiler +
The wind glided along the ocean, filling the air with water. The wind continues along the shimmering surface, embracing a leaping fish before gently returning it back to its watery home. The wind trails upwards, higher until it envelops a kakaru, and following it, heads inland. The mountains grow larger and larger, and finally, jumping from the wings of the kakaru, the wind hurls itself up the face of the mountains, scaling their heights and leaping over the tips, and sails downwards into the valley below, then skimming the surface, jumping over large craters, and weird bugs, it pulses forward, to the highest hill in the valley, and there it envelopes a man, and turns to see what he see’s, a landscape in chaos, men and women running along trenches, with weird instruments making lights, metal monstrosities surging forward, the ever loud cranking of gears filling the area. Gazing past this mechanical yet, beautiful sight, the insects the wind passed earlier are screeching and pouring forward, a seeming less harmonious swarm advancing.
The man watches for a moment, then bringing a strange box to his mouth he begins rapidly talking, and below the metal machines begin to slow their advance, and spreading out they transform, sprouting large barrels from their back, which begin to roar into the night, and where the roar ends, the swarm gets smaller. The men and women rush to the sides of the metal mammoths and begin aiming their instruments at the swarm and as the lights rapidly appear and disappear, the swarm again diminishes.
The swarm is almost upon the men, when multiple metal arrows descend from the heavens, destroying the swarm wherever they land, quickly followed by metal eagles appearing from the clouds, and firing fiery light along the swarm.
The wind watches the man continue to talk into the box, and as he speaks the men and machines move in unity, all with the effort to drive back the insects. For minutes this pattern continues, the man always one step ahead of the hive. Then all is silent.
The wind follows the man as he descends from the hill into the people below, and listens
β€œSeo Ji Hoon!”
β€œSeo Ji Hoon”
β€œSeo Ji Hoon”
Over and over the name is repeated, and the wind gazes at the man, realizing something new, that where it appeared the men and machines were in chaos, and the swarm orderly, it was not the case, it was just chaos in the field, and this man brought order and with the activity done, the wind flows up and out of the valley, continuing its journey.

I think most will still be happy they have something they wrote out that they can really be proud of. And plus, it couldn't hurt to show our passion and support for CJ or progaming in general. This sort of effort in writing is never bad or a waste of time.

Here is mine , at least I can say ' I tried '
+ Show Spoiler +
Well , where to start ? Hmm... Yeah , found it.
I'm studying in Middle East Tech in Turkey . My dorm mate is a fan of StarCraft too. Before he taught me this undisputable No.1 game of the universe I have no idea about this game... But after that .. My life is full of SC , VODs and old essays related to game changed my way of life. I'm not exaggereting here , this is so true. Anyway , I'm also fan of Bisu , he is the 1st when I interested in the game but it was not the reason for me to enter this new world. It is really odd for me to want sAviOr's shirt but since Bisu and Savior are rivals this is exciting too. I have known TL for over 8 months but unfortunately I signed up in july and couldn't enter to poll. Therefore , this is my last chance to win this shirt.

What are we waiting for?
I've been a big fan of CJ since the beginning, starting with Xellos and Team GO. The Team GO era of CJ Entus was truly an amazing time. Various players from that team were truly amazing. XellOs, my favorite Terran (besides BoxeR, but that's a given) was truly a Perfect Terran. The rising player IPXZerg or sAviOr had a style of Zerg more entertaining than some of the best Zergs at the time.

These two players, XellOs and sAviOr became some of the best players going into the CJ Entus era. Xellos was already an accomplished player, with an OSL under his belt and winning the Korea WCG Selection. On the other hand, sAviOr was still fairly new, yet he already took an MSL. CJ would become a top-tier Proleague team because of these 2 players.

sAviOr unexpectedly took two MSLs and an OSL in about the same year, and I became more attached to CJ as I witnessed it all. CJ Entus as a whole also established a reputation in Proleague, making top spots in each Proleague in the year 2006. CJ fans everywhere rejoiced during these times, watching each game expecting to be entertained, and they were.

No one thought that the dominance would end. Suddenly in 2007, sAviOr fell into his infamous slump, and CJ became a lower-tier team in Proleague. The big slump was simply depressing for all CJ fans out there. Most watched these games and expected lackluster results from the declining team. However, the rest continued watching with a optimistic view ready to be entertained. I was one of those few who continued watching as a fan.

We were all waiting for something. We wanted CJ to make a shining comeback in Proleague. We wanted sAviOr to dominate every Starleague there was. As the months went by, nothing would happen. But most continued watching as true fans. Those who stopped following CJ couldn't stop thinking, "What am I waiting for?" Maybe it is futile to continue hoping for another period of dominance by CJ, but I'm still here. I'm waiting for it.
<Wolfpox> i remember when MVP beat that one guy, and everyone was like 'whoa' except that penguin dude.

Happy Anniversary

In 2003, I was working as a senior beauty advisor for Walgreens. Basically, my job was to tell old women which lipstick would make them look pretty, and convince them that even at 60 years old, blue eye shadow still looked good on them. One of the photo techs was a tall, skinny, blonde kid named Justin. I talked to him a bit, and thought he was funny. I even had a small crush on him, but nothing I ever thought about pursuing.

The only game I’d ever played was Everquest. I’d never heard of Starcraft, or Warcraft 3, or any other RTS. A friend of mine actually bought me Starcraft while he was visiting from California. I really tried to learn how to play it, but even the single player missions would take me hours to complete. It was a terrible game, and I hated it. But for some reason, I kept playing it.

One day, I came in to work super tired. I was in the office whining to my manager about how I had stayed up too late playing video games and needed to go home and sleep. Justin came in and overheard me complaining, and asked which game I had been up playing. I told him he probably didn’t know the game, but he bugged me until I finally gave in and told him. He didn’t believe me; girls aren’t interested in Starcraft, after all.

Somehow I convinced him that I had indeed been playing it. We started talking on aim, and he linked me some video feed of Starcraft TV, and an article talking about Starcraft Doritos, and tennis shoes. I thought it was a joke. I mean, people playing video games on TV? That’s crazy talk. He introduced me to players like Savior, Xellos, Boxer, Nada, July, and Nal_Ra. And even though I was awful at the game, and my APM will probably never get above 60, I loved Starcraft.

In 2006, we went to WCG USA finals or something in Las Vegas. I met Tasteless, and he told me about TeamLiquid.net. After that, Justin and I started watching Pro Starcraft religiously. I always play Liquibet, and never rank higher than 100. I am still terribly clueless about the mechanics of the game. I just cheer for my favorite players and teams, and always feel bad for the player who loses. They seem to take losing so hard!

This month, Justin (Disarray on these forums) and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary. CJ Entus is our favorite team, and we watch every OSL, GSI, MSL, and Proleague game. I know this is my first post; I am way too shy to post in any of the topics because I am so clueless, but it would really mean a lot to me if I could give this CJ Entus shirt to my boyfriend as an anniversary present. Without Starcraft, we probably wouldn’t have started dating. <3
