so here is my problem.. i have a new computer but i can't find my starcraft cd anywhere. so i just went to blizzardshop and downloaded starcraft, which worked. now i am trying to get my chaoslauncher going, but it gives me a weird message: "Starcraft was unable to open a required file. If this problem persists, try uninastalling and reinstalling Starcraft using the program "SETUP.EXE" on the Starcraft CD-ROM. The problem occured while trying to load a file cursor\arrow.grp Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden." the last sentence is german and means "system can't find the specified file" i tried reinstalling (not with my CD-ROM because apparently i only have my blizzard dl filfe) but it didn't change anything please help me^^

1. Starcraft runs fine by itself. 2. I can run Chaoslauncher, all of the plugins that came with it load, and so does BWAPI. 3. I can run Starcraft through Chaoslauncher. Some plugins (like the chaosplugin) work (I haven't tested *all* of the functionality, but at least the autoreplays work), while others (like APMAlert) don't. Some reading here suggests that at least in the APMAlert case, this may be an issue with version compatibility. As far as I can tell, BWAPI does not work at all. Finally, when I run Starcraft through Chaoslauncher, I get an error message that says "Sc startup timeout" after a bit. Before getting that message chaosplugin works, but afterwards, it doesn't (I'm just using the presence of autoreplays to test "works"). Google doesn't have anything on that error, although running "strings" on Chaoslauncher.exe shows me that it's being produced from within Chaoslauncher. There are obviously a bunch of issues here, and I'm not asking for help with all of them (since many are pretty difficult and hairy). What I'd like to know is the meaning of the "Sc startup timeout" error. Does it indicate that for whatever reason, Chaoslauncher doesn't think that Starcraft has started? What's the expected behavior of Chaoslauncher after this error (i.e. does it unload the plugins, assuming that Starcraft didn't start up?). Oh, and by the way: thanks for making such a great tool. For what it does, and for being free software, Chaoslauncher is extremely professional and easy to use.

Afterwards the SC process is resumed and starts executing. Then the WaitForInputIdle function is called with a timeout of 60s. This function causes the timeout observed by you. If an error occurs it aborts the startup process on the assumption that starcraft didn't start correctly. After this function returns successfully(which it doesn't in your case) the second callback is called. Plugins like APM-Alert and probably BW-Api use it since they require SC to be initialized correctly. btw the sourcecode is available at my homepage(probably a bit outdated), so there is no need to use strings ![]() I've replaced WaitForInputIdle with FindWindow, so it should work now. Updated version (0.5.3.1) available at http://winner.cspsx.de/Starcraft/Tool/Chaoslauncher.exe . If there are still problems related to Chaoslauncher please post them here. Afaik the BWApi only injects a dll into the Starcraft process, so you can use any other injector to do that too. For example when developing I usually don't use Chaoslauncher as injector, but a patched starcraftversion http://www.bwprogrammers.com/bwp/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=6814#6814

I was wondering if there is a way to autodelete games that are autosaved but that are under x amount of time, I hate to have dozens of reps of under 3 minutes of game... can that function be added to the chaosplugin or something similar?

But that doesn't mean that I don't support adding such a feature to autoreplay ![]()
