Sigh.

I never did anything remotely close to that.

It was last year or so when you accused me of saying Snow is the best Protoss ever (I didn't), after which I had to clarify and link you the post where I said he has the best PvT peak.

How come after such incident that now can go even more over the top. At this point I have to seriously consider you are mentally challenged.

Only you, not people. It's not like I go around throwing insults at whoever saying Protoss is not weak.

You can't just say flat out false stuff with a bad connotation about another poster like that. Imagine if I said you're adopted without source, you then pointed out I was wrong, but then I went on again to say you're a bastard, without ever acknowledging I made not once but two mistakes.

And I'm willing to take a ban for that, because people like you deserve to be called out.

You have a rich history of acting hostile against me or saying false stuff (like above), but when pointed out, you keep shamelessly glossing over your faults. No acknowledgement, no apologies. I have no respect for you as a human being.

Lmao. You're the one talking about being civil?

Can go through my entire post history and see I always act civil when the other poster also acts civil. Yes it is the case.

Whenever it gets escalated, it's the other poster acting in bad manners first. You are the prime exhibit.

I'm not exactly saying it does, I'm saying the game has been understood as finely balanced for that entire period. You're free to challenge that but I hope you have something better than what you have so far to argue that understanding. My patience to entertain zero substance ideas dwindles fast.

The biggest factor in this game, and I feel I have explained this to you before, is individual skill. We do not expect every race to be fairly represented because the races people play are not forced upon them or randomized. Better players win more games. Second to that is the map being played and maps can be wildly imbalanced. Nothing you're saying takes either into account. I've seen all these stats too, you're working backwards from your conclusion. The fact that people aren't winning championships with Protoss or Terran does not mean the cause is from race imbalance, that is totally unreasonable.

And you people keep dodging this, so I will make it plain again, tell me that these Protoss players who lost their ASL games not for any other reason than race imbalance. Tell me you believe that. Or tell me you have game(s) to show us where a worse player won because of race imbalance, no other reason. Let's start there.

Every time I challenge you people this way, you suddenly don't believe what you said before.

The methodology you are asking for is fundamentally unachievable. Starcraft is a game where hundreds if not thousands of micro mistakes snowball into a binary outcome. This analysis is complicated even more by the fact that even the winner can make these micro mistakes. I would go as far to say as even with computer analysis you won't be able to find the information you're looking for at least not with our current technology. At the very least no one has done it with our current technology.

So that means we have to look elsewhere. I think there's a different conclusion to your critique of tournament statistics than the one you're arriving at. I think you're drawing the conclusion that because there's room for interpretation in tournament results that it tells you nothing. This is inherently flawed thinking. You don't need to have 100% accuracy to extrapolate meaningful data. Weather prediction apps don't have 100% accuracy but we still use them to achieve a probability model that gives us better results than just guessing.

My final rebuttal for the use of tournament statistics would be, sample size is King. Both in regards to number of games played and the amount of different players involved. If we can agree on this then my next question would be, what would be a sufficient sample size to enter the realm of being statistically significant for you? I think we're already deep within that number unless you want to start putting an asterisk on things like KSL and kespa era (I would argue along the lines of my second paragraph that while nthe data may not be weighted as heavily it still should be included nonetheless). Weak data is still data.

Anyone hijacking this thread with debating whether the game is balanced, please don't. This wasn't about balance, it was about whether we care about balance, and if so, why, and to what extent. It's nice that so many people have taken this in the spirit intended, and I really really don't want this to be a fucking "is the game balanced" debate thread. Those suck.

Clearly the non stop debate about balance on every unrelated thread proves we actually do care
The thread could be a single reply: "Yes" and end of discussion

The why is obvious, it's a game to test your skill, you want it to be a fair contest, also everyone hates mirrors and less diversity = more mirrors

I don’t really care about balance at all... I don’t really do. In a game like Brood War there’ll always be imbalance - thats part of the beauty.

That said - it does affect me indirectly.

I’m at a stage where I don’t play much but do try to catch the odd game or two.

I’m a little less keen on seeing just TvZ, TvT or ZvZ in the later stages of a tournament. For example, this ASL season I only watched the finals. I just feel that a bit of balance tinkering (there are many ways to do it of course - mainly through maps) might make it more entertaining.

Weak data is still data.

There's so much wrong with what everyone is saying to me, I have to go at it directly instead of lumping you all in together like I wanted.

The methodology is absolutely achievable, it's just not immediately available. We would all love to pull up, whatever that Korean hosted website was that compiled game stats and me especially would love to start playing with different data sets like skill level, map, builds, you name it. Instead it requires watching and understanding the game being played, and we can all judge for ourselves regardless of whether or not we play at the highest levels. Absolutely true that no one plays this game perfectly, even Flash, but that in no way means we cannot see when a mistake is costly versus when it's not. I know I can, I know a lot of other people can as well. For myself, my ability to watch analyze the games exceeds my ability to actually play it. And besides that, we can see the results of those mistake(s) because we're not playing in real time. We have the time and the tools available to us. No one arguing FOR this position takes a look at anything more than tournament outcomes, apparently, if they even play the game at all (or ever have). That has been made abundantly clear to me.

The heart of the matter with the FOR position is that it's clearly a knee-jerk reaction, a totally vibes based position that people are struggling to justify with their misunderstanding of statistics now. It's clearly just a feeling you have, there's no evidence or reason involved to convince anyone. That's precisely why I keep asking what do you people believe and much more importantly, why do you believe it? It's not lost on me that I can't even get an answer from all you most of the time. It reeks of close-mindedness.

As I said there's a lot of emphasis on stats but there is a constant stream of rookie mistakes being made. You're trying to talk about data collection, and while it may look impossible to you, it's simply not. People do this every day with far less reliable data than we have available to us and they still extrapolate meaningful results. You're contradicting yourself as well when you talk about not needing accurate data but using an outcome as a data point. Obviously, you've never done any data collection but we mustn't get the two confused. And you misunderstand sample size because what you're looking at ignores the people involved because the sample size is actually tiny. This is a sample size of ~15 people. The same ~15 people who have been playing for decades. Unless the people playing don't actually matter to you. Then the tournament sample size is only slightly less than double that at ~30. How could anyone look at tournament championships alone to form any kind of opinion from? It's so goddamned lazy.

Now that comment was for maks because he was looking at overall tournament wins and using that to conclude that not only is Protoss disfavored, that the entire game is imbalanced. He still needs to make the case that the game itself is inherently imbalanced. I think the rest of us are in agreement that it is finely balanced and I was entertaining that notion to see where he was coming from. Happy to drop it, he has nothing and ran away toot sweet. If you're arguing his point(s) or not I'd like to know whether you agree with him. I don't see people disagreeing with him when they comment on it so I assume you do.

He would have to believe that any player any where is expected to take a championship because individual skill doesn't matter and the maps being played doesn't matter either. Only the result matters, that's how he interprets balance. Apparently we're supposed to have 1 Zerg winner, then 1 Terran winner and finally it's 1 Protoss players turn to win before the cycle repeats itself (~33%). The participation trophy generation could not be better personified...
If you agree with that, there are so many factors he and you are just flat out ignoring, and, that is a fundamentally flawed way of thinking about anything let alone this game.
Paralyze has never won a championship, not because he plays Protoss, but because he simply isn't good enough. Otherwise why look at tournament results alone and try to draw conclusions from it?

So the questions on the table for you now are:
Do you believe in individual skill in SCBW? Then how important is it?
Do you believe everyone has the same chance of winning?
Do you believe that in the last season of ASL Protoss players lost their games because of race imbalance? You can pick any single match or any single game to talk about. I was trying, from the getgo, to make it easy for you people and still am. I still think this makes it much more manageable.
If you want to expand the scope beyond ASL22 that's fine, we can talk about a singular game that you think demonstrates this game has a fundamental imbalance for Protoss players. But the question will be the same, first I want you to tell us that you believe that those Protoss players played better and still lost in that/those game(s). Do you believe that Protoss players are losing games where they're playing better than their opponents due to race imbalance (that this cannot be explained very simply by individual skill or map design); they deserved to win?

Then the question to you is very simple instead.
Why do you believe it? Why do you believe that Protoss is imbalanced?
You don't have any games in mind that helped you reach the conclusion? Not a single one after playing for 25+ years?
You've never played a game where you lost to a Zerg where you felt that you played better than them and deserved to win?

Is the only reason you believe Protoss is imbalanced because they haven't won as many championships as other races?

You are looking at this completely wrong and missing the point.
Skill expression relies on opportunity, to be able to "play better" you need the opportunity to do so.
Let's go back to a simple example: BBS vs 12 hatch

Almost every play is a losing play, the best options are bad ones
So either you lose unless the other guy micros very very badly, or you play out a game you're likely to lose on 1 base muta or whatever. So because of imbalance, if you win you feel you played better, if you lose you simply had no opportunity to play better.

So if you lost, of course you will not say you played better. You couldn't do anything but sit on 1 base defending.

This is because there was an imbalance (build order loss) PREVENTING you from playing better by denying you the opportunity

Let's say lots of Bonyth's options could be limited due to imbalance
Therefore, he might be forced to play a disadvantageous game, when the only other option is to lose, therefore both options seem "bad" so you won't feel like you played well in either case

This is why you can't point to individual games as players might be making plays which don't work out (and seem bad then) because there wasn't any good opportunities

Statistics are used instead because they make a lot more sense because they explore many many paths and metagames

It's very easy to point a loss to bad play, when another path might have also led to a loss, statistics allow you to explore many paths and if they all lead, on average, to a losing record, either the players haven't found the right solution, don't have the skills (even professionals?), or there is an imbalance.

Or here's simple game theory, this is for example purposes only, not claiming this is true
PvZ let's say you can't scout zergs main base until corsair, zerg has 2 builds only
1. Hydra bust
2. Mutas
You can choose to blind counter one and be at 55:45 advantage, if you play safe against both its 40:60 disadvantage, if you guess wrong and blind counter 1 its auto loss

Then, game theory you will always lose on average even though you could always choose a strategy that can be at an advantage, and you can blame the players for choosing wrong every time, but this is an imbalanced game state

Note, in this example, we assume players of equal skill each time, so in no case did anyone outplay the other, yet imbalance still exists!

There are many reasons what you are asking is basically incoherent, but the simplest once is build order roulette. In any ZvZ series, you will see one player playing from behind, because they went 12pool vs 12hatch or 9pool vs overpool or whatever. There is a skill component in choosing a good distribution of strategies, but it makes no sense to take one individual game and say that player A made a mistake by opening 12pool.

PvZ also has build order roulette, and Protosses bleed "expected wins" at the start of every game, either by playing overly safely with too many cannons and automatically being behind in the middle game, or by sailing too close to the wind and losing 1 in N games to zergling runbys or hydra busts.

You can't look at any individual game and say the Protoss played better and deserved to win but still lost, because it doesn't make any sense in the context of build order roulette. You similarly can't really look at someone playing literal roulette at a casino and say he "deserved to win that spin", despite betting on black and the ball landing on red. It's incoherent. But roulette bleeds the player's bank. It's built right into the game, and there's no system of betting that gets around it, over time.

You can argue that the second paragraph doesn't correctly describe StarCraft. Nobody can really prove it, after all. But at least you should be able to see that, if true, it's a kind of imbalance that cannot be seen in a single game in isolation, so your burden of proof cannot be met.

Before I start finding games I want you to lay down specific parameters for me. Because I do believe someone has already found a game in this thread so I don't want the goal posts to move. How many games would suffice before you were convinced?

And on the flip side I want a different set of parameters because I think you're being disingenuous about tournament statistics. Let's say I had 10,000 ASLs to look back at from the future and these tournaments had tens of thousands of players that were all the same caliber. Would you say this is a sufficient sample size to demonstrate race balance? What about 5,000 ASLs? If you think that data is insufficient due to sample size then that's fine. I'd like to hear what number would be sufficient for you. If you truly think that there is no number large enough to provide a proper sample size to be able to tell race balance due to tournament statistics then you're out of your mind.

I hope you realize that "bad players always pick protoss" is a statistic in and of itself and the probability is not in your favor

Kinda hard to separate the two don't you think?

Your answer is "I don't care whether the game is balanced or not". Fine.

But if my answer is "I care if the game is not balanced" then I have to find out if the game is balanced or not to find out if I should care...

Is that really up for debate, after 25+ years of this game being played? It's been well understood that it's finely balanced and it seems a hell of a lot easier to attack 1 race supposedly being imbalanced rather than juggling all 3.

Still, go ahead, I don't think the rest of us have to go back to the 2000's. You can make that case if you like, I'll entertain it, but your methodology is already showing flawed here. Each race winning 33% of the titles does not indicate balance at all.

But that is the foundational problem with the FOR position here, you expect the outcomes to be balanced. In a competitive environment that is just simply not how that works or has ever worked. And in a larger picture this is not at all how people work. You will have outliers, low performers and high performers along with the average.

Since when does a game's longevity equate to balance? Longevity is evidence of popularity and depth, not balance. Competitive balance should be assessed using hard data: title distribution in premier individual tournaments, matchup win rates, and race-war formats like KCM Race Survival or Proleague. Longevity means little if the available data consistently points to significant racial disparities.

You look at statistics then say "show me one game where protoss lost due to race imbalance"
that's not how statistics works
it's like old arguments of like "show me one case where smoking definitely caused lung cancer"
Yes, technically you can't prove it for one individual case but the statistics usually are helpful, if not always definitive

We could suggest that only worse players play protoss for the history of the game, sure

How well someone played is highly subjective and tainted by our preceptions of good or bad play
Someone losing like an idiot could be because they are cutting corners to deal with standard play, and would look bad if they didn't cut those corners in a standard game

Here is another example
"Find me one game where a chess player won because he had the white pieces"
Well every human makes lots of mistakes so we can't definitely prove ANY player won just because he had the white pieces
I really think your argument is completely garbage

lol - great! Show me a statistically significant number of games where that happens instead of just a single, solitary example.

If you take off where maks left it, you now have to go back to the drawing board and describe how the game is totally imbalanced, not just because of one race, but apparently all of the races in the game. And you have to collect and analyze a statistically significant number of games where a Protoss player, who plays better and deserves to win, losses instead because the race just can't win. Are you people masochists or what?
I don't disagree that maybe protoss doesn't have the most talented players (one of them Rain is simply not active) but saying we can't prove a loss is due to imbalance is a ridiculous argument

I can't wait for you to try.

But to be honest, I'd settle for just one of you to answer the question instead. Did these Protoss players who lost in those games, pick a game as you like, play better than their opponents and deserve to win? Do you know why not a single one of you can't do that, why you won't even try to address it?

Again I don't understand your post
You are asking for statistics instead of examples and then ask for singular examples that we can definitively say a better player lost

The statistics for the entire history of the game of BW clearly show protoss winning the least everything, overall statistics seems to show T>Z and Z>P, T=P, someone else posted the stats, I think Crimson)Shadow, however, top zergs have no problem winning championships so the T>Z stat is somewhat overlooked.

The problem is that the skill expression is enough to overcome imbalance in BW, the obvious example is winning on disfavoured maps. This means for any individual player, similar to the chess example, it's very hard to definitively state out who played better in any game that was lost, the idea of balance must come from a combination of statistics and analysis (similar to chess, we know white is stronger from logic and analysis. If someone wins with white we don't know they played better, as they had an advantage from the start.)

For example Snow vs Shine in this seasons ASL, I personally thought Snow played better and deserved to win, but many people disagree with me. My perception was Snow was playing an uphill battle all game and mistakes are game losing while Shine had more leeway. That to me felt like a Black vs White game where the Zerg player was pushing all game for a win while Protoss was just defending despite a standard safe opening, with scouting and holding the 9-7-3

But then many other people here thought Shine played great or Snow made many mistakes so coming up with examples is pointless

In my perception, the matchup (and I think stats agree) is imbalanced toward Terran until late game, then it's imbalanced toward Zerg, which is why although we see plenty of games go either way at any point in the game, typically Zerg is fighting uphill until hive and then Terran is fighting uphill

So the analytical perspective is that from an even start point, if Zerg wins midgame vs terran or Terran wins late vs zerg, they played better, but even that is a huge generalization. But the flipside is not true, if Terran wins in midgame he might not have played better because he had an advantage and Zerg had an advantage late.

We can use the same analysis for BBS vs 12 hatch. If Zerg wins, we deduce that he played better because it's so disfavoured, but if Terran wins, we can't deduce anything since he's expected to win.
If we say just for assumption Z>P, if a Protoss loses, we can't for sure P played better, but we also can't say he played worse, because the disfavoured position automatically means we can't judge skill based purely on the result unless the result is in the opposite way of the imbalance

So, a better example to look for, is a game where protoss beat zerg but we think protoss played worse, if that happens frequently, it would be a better counterexample to imbalance than the opposite; losing from a disfavoured position is an inconclusive skill test

Look, you in particular don't understand statistics and should not rely on it at all as a basis. I let a lot of big mistakes go in your first rebuttal because you wanted to make your position harder but since you doubled down, ignored the questions on the table, buckle up buckaroo bonzai.

The whole position rests upon you believing that the game is imbalanced, against Protoss. This means that you have weaker opponents beating stronger opponents, regularly or consistently. If there's a bias in the game against a race, and it doesn't regularly show up you have a problem with the hypothesis. This means that you have stronger players, playing better than their opponents, losing games. If this didn't cross your mind, it's because you haven't thought this through.

For maks, he believed the game was imbalanced all together because of tournament wins, even though it only shows Protoss lower on the order. He understands balance to be such that you would have equal championships amongst the races. Call it equal representation. So he doesn't look at the individual players, he doesn't look at the maps and he doesn't look at the individual games. Those individual games make up his statistic (your statistic, I guess you believe that you look at tournament results and come to a conclusion about the state of the games balance?). Big, fucking, flaw; if you know anything about statistics.

I asked two questions in response to that obvious horrible hole. Do you believe that Protoss players in ASL22 lost their games for no other reason than race imbalance? And, do you have any examples that demonstrate weaker players beating stronger Protoss players? That is simply to make the point easier to manage. You, personally did nothing with either.
You have no statistic showing anything of value, again, all you have is tournament championships. For that to be relevant you'd have to believe some pretty wild stuff. Do you people believe that any player can just walk in and compete for the top billing? That anyone playing the game is capable of being a champion? What you're both postulating is absolutely absurd. The top Protoss players are not as good as Flash, Light, SK or Soma. Paralyze and Shuttle are not as good as Bisu. Either of you care to tell us otherwise?

Now, if we have a fundamental disagreement about whether or not bad play is actually bad play then we are at an impasse. But we never got that far. Maybe you just don't understand the game to be able to analyze it but I don't think it's that hard, I think we all watched the same games, and if you've played this game competitively you probably have the ability to analyze what worked and what didn't. What was a major mistake, what was a minor mistake, what mattered ultimately to the game state, and what didn't. We can talk about that, we should be able to talk about that, I think, the rest of us are talking about that. If you can't talk about that, or won't, then we are at an impasse because you're obstinate, and, I no longer give a shit about you.

If that's not where you're coming from you seem to be taking me for someone else, I am not using tournament championships as a statistic to justify a race imbalance because there are fewer Protoss champions. You are. Going forward, in order for that to actually work, you better start controlling for the variables like individual skill, which you already acknowledge is more important. Or map design. But there are others, like builds, luck, match length, strategy and personality of the players are all significant factors in determining the outcome. Because just pointing at 'there are less championships for Protoss players' doesn't account for any of that and unless you believe those things are totally unimportant, that any Protoss player can just compete at the championship level, that is not something you can base a conclusion off of, unless of course you know absolutely nothing about statistics. That position is so goddamned lazy it shouldn't have to be mentioned.

A general example, if a Zerg uses defilers well to win a TvZ, is it imbalance that defilers are too strong, or did Terran play not well enough ,late game, or is Zerg getting to defilers safely proof he is more skilled than Terran?

If you're postulating that the defiler is imbalanced, and, still using tournament championships as the metric by which to judge it. Terrans have the same win rate. More, in the modern era, in fact. Makes no sense. Are you arguing maks position that the entire game is inherently imbalanced now? And using tournament statistics to justify it? Go back up to the start and read the horrible holes part.
Defilers turn the match up on its' head, everything Terran has is ranged so the agreed upon strategy is to prevent them from getting to that state, yes, but to your point do you really think those are the only two options on the table? Defilers are imbalanced or getting to them is a clear indication that one is more skillful than the other. Let me throw an easy third option in there, and there are many others, the map design is too safe for Zerg and allows them to easily take or defend a 3rd and 4th.

StarCraft isn't chess, or checkers. You're presenting things too simply, too matter of factly. There's no reason to even make the comparison, everyone here on this forum is familiar with SCBW, used to be that we all played it competitively and therefore are capable of dealing with the nuisances of the game itself. I take your repeated attempts to talk about smoking an chess as a bad sign.
Terran is on the back foot but it is not impossible to win against Zerg late game. If every game ever played ended up in this late game scenario you may have a point about imbalance but it doesn't, does it? If your understanding of imbalance is that there exists game states that are unfavorable to one race for a specific period of time then why are you trying to using tournament championship statistics to justify it? You are acknowledging that there are other, more important factors. Why aren't we examining those factors when we talk about imbalance?
The game is not a scenario, it's a collection of, maybe innumerable, scenarios played out together, in real time. No game is exactly the same. In the TvZ matchup there are points where, depending on the map, and the builds utilized, Zerg is very unlikely to win. There is no set game state, no scenario to play out exactly the same. Even in your other imagined scenarios, you consistently have the same problem. You aren't viewing the big picture, you're trying to simplify it and losing the whole thing as you go. This game isn't checkers, or chess, it will never be that simple so stop trying to boil it down and getting yourself lost in the process.

In that same vein you really need to stop arguing off of someone else's argument/post. Your positions are coming across incoherent because they're intertwined with someone else's. You're interpreting someone else's position as your own and that's always a bad way to discuss something.

For you, the same question is on the table. Do you believe that in the last season of ASL, Protoss players lost their games because of race imbalance? You can pick any single match or any single game to talk about. I was trying, from the getgo, to make it easy for you people and still am. I still think this makes it much more manageable. Do you believe that Protoss players are losing games where they're playing better than their opponents due to race imbalance (that this cannot be explained very simply by individual skill or map design); they deserved to win?

@Xenixx: your way of thinking is fundamentally flawed.

You want us to find a game where P plays better but still loses because of balance, but you have to define "playing better" first. Because "playing well" isn't the same for both races (and that's because of balance).

I'l give you an example, in a mirror matchup even (where the game is supposed to be absolutely balanced): at lower levels in PvP, there's the 2 Gate Zealot opener which is way harder to hold for a player who does a Dragoon opener than to execute. You watch the game falling apart for the Dragoon opener player and you'd think he's playing worse than the 2 Gate player, but you ignore that is he is playing "worse" because he gets the short end of the stick. And if you reverse the build choice of the two players for a second game, suddenly you'll see the 2 Gate player in the first game playing "worse".

Now extrapolate that to non-mirror matchups. You can analyse a game and point out this player should do better here and there, therefore he's not playing better. But him making mistakes and "playing worse" are already governed by the limitations of his race/the matchup. Take PvZ for example: 25+ years have already shown us that getting Ling runby, Hydra bust, surprised attack from Mutas,... are parts of the matchup and can't be avoided 100%. Just like T dying to DT rush for 25 years, albeit at a much lower frequency. If you went to an alternate timeline where Soma and Soulkey play Protoss, you would still see them getting hydra busted by Mini. Maybe they are indeed better players, and P would get 6-8 ASLs instead of 3, but P would still be the worst race.

Another example I often raise: imagine the game but P starts with only 3 workers. That is as blatantly imbalanced as it gets. Yet Snow can still beat the Chinese players comfortably (I've seen that before), thus you can point to that and say "See? Player's skills matter most. Protoss just need to up their game". But Snow for sure can't do the same against Soulkey. At peak level when skill gap is almost non-existent, overcoming imbalance becomes impossible. Now imagine the game but the imbalance is very subtle, very small, which is the reality we have. And there you have it: Protoss is the worst race.

I know you and I have already had this conversation. You dodged it all then, as you will now, so the part about finding an example is particularly well suited for you in particular.

You most of all need to not remember that your statistic about game, match or tournament outcomes come solely and directly from the individual games being played. What happened in those games is paramount. They cannot be ignored. And when examined, yes, we are capable of finding mistakes, bad decisions, we are capable of analyzing the game. I don't understand how you people are so stupidly stubborn that you have shifted, not to acknowledging that your position isn't good or well thought out and full of holes, but to that we don't have the tools or the ability to analyze and talk about the games. If you think this, it only demonstrates that you don't have the ability to do so. I trust most people on this forum do, it clearly isn't like this anymore but back when I lurked & joined this place was entirely made up of people who actually competed in this game.

Tell me how my way of taking into account individual skill in a game where no one plays perfectly and is probably the hardest game to master ever made is fundamentally flawed. Or map design, or analysis of the game to account for a myriad of factors of how that game was played. Tell me how it's these things don't matter it's just Protoss that is uniquely incapable of playing the game.

But him making mistakes and "playing worse" are already governed by the limitations of his race/the matchup. Take PvZ for example: 25+ years have already shown us that getting Ling runby, Hydra bust, surprised attack from Mutas

Wrong. Map design or map balance. It's that easy and you didn't even think of it.
Now imagine the game but the imbalance is very subtle, very small, which is the reality we have. And there you have it: Protoss is the worst race.

I've never seen this but just because two players are not remotely matched in skill does not even remotely indicate that the game is balanced. I totally reject the assertion that I would ever hold or defend that position. That's your insane nonsense that you concocted out of thin air. The worst strawman argument one could make.
I think you make these mistakes because you've never actually competed in this game or played it at all. You, I think, are a legit newb.

So do the easy thing and find an example, or some example(s) of games that demonstrate this Protoss imbalance. Or Protoss players playing better than their opponents and losing. Find anything, any real world evidence that we can through, that demonstrates any part of your position. I know you can't answer the question(s) already, do that instead, it's better evidence anyway.

You won't because this is a vibes based position, you weren't convinced by any evidence or reason. You started at the games imbalanced for Protoss because they haven't won as much, recently*, and worked backwards from that conclusion. What's worse is that you haven't thought any of it through and that's why you don't have any answers. Don't come back with your strawmen to knock down, you can fuck right off with that idiocy, kiddo.

See the guy above @eonzerg?

I made a civilized response to him, where I talk about the game and not him, but his response to me is in a condescending tone (you won't, you can't, you haven't thought it through....) and includes some not-very-friendly keywords ("stupidly stubborn", "insane nonsense", "legit newb" (most classic fallacy in game forums)). And if those are not enough of an indication for you, he literally ends the post with "fuck off kiddo".

It goes on like that for a few more posts don't blame me for insulting him. These people always instigate first.
