From the very beginning, the goal of the Bombastic StarLeague was to focus on developing the talent of players outside of South Korea. We believe that you can only dedicate yourself when you have a consistent way of testing yourself! That’s why our plan for 2022 is to create THREE Seasons of BSL:
BSL14 with Regional Ladder Seeds
BSL15 with Continental Championships
BSL16 as BSL2022 World Championship.

How do I sign up?
Create a new account using the BSL14- tag on any gateway BSL14-, e.g.: BSL14-Hatchet, BSL14-HaN, BSL14-ZZZero, ..
If a player seeded into Ro24 qualifies for Ro16, their spot is distributed to their region. You can ask any questions regarding region seeds in the #feedback channel on the BSL discord.
The top #5-36 players from the Ladder Stage get seeded into BSL14 GosuLeague Ro32 [Required minimum 25 games]
Players ranked #37 to #68 from the Ladder Stage get seeded into BSL14 HasuLeague [Required minimum 25 games]
All remaining Ladder Stage participants who completed at least 25 ladder games get seeded into BSL14 ChoboLeague.

Ro24 Group Stage – Six groups of four players each, double elimination, first two matches [initial matches] - best-of-one, last three matches - best-of-three. The top 2 players in each group advance to the Ro16.
Ro16 Group Stage – Four groups of four players each, double elimination, best-of-three. The top 2 players in each group advance to the Ro8.
Ro8, Ro4 and 3rd place match – Single elimination bracket, best-of-five.

Bombastic Points will be awarded throughout BSL seasons 14 & 15 based on rankings. These points will then be used to determine the 16 players seeded into the BSL16 2022 Championship.
BSL16 World Championship

Leagues and seeds distribution - Seeds(6): Champion of BSL Season 14, Champion of BSL15 NA, Champion of BSL15 SA, Champion of BSL15 EU, Champion of BSL15 AS Champion of BSL15 Season Finals - BSL Points - 16 seeds - BSL Ladder - 10 seeds Format: Ro32 - 8 groups, 4 players each group, best-of-three, top2 advances Ro16 - 4 groups, 4 players each group, best of three, top2 advances Ro8 - 1 group for 8 players, round robin, best-of-three, top6 advances to stepladder finals -> TOP6 vs TOP5, winner vs TOP4, winner vs TOP3, winner vs TOP2 & Finals.
1. Everyone must join the BSL Official Discord channel
Every player who played in the BSL14 ladder stage, has to confirm their participation in the tournament on BSL Discord: a) ProLeague - within 12 hours after ladder stage ends b) GosuLeague, HasuLeague & ChoboLeague - within one week from ladder stage end
3. Qualification restriction
Players who have previously played in ProLeague (Seasons 5-13) can't qualify for Hasu and Chobo leagues. Players who ever played in GosuLeague (Seasons 6-13) can't qualify for ChoboLeague. Players who weren't able to reach the needed MMR will have to skip this BSL Season.g, his opponent may claim a technical win for one game.
15 minutes after that he can claim a win for the whole series.
4. The tournament is residency locked
The goal of the Bombastic StarLeague is to focus on the development of players outside of Korea. Therefore, only players that are living outside of South Korea can participate in this tournament
5. Smurfs
a) Everyone can add up to FIVE BSL14-accounts on bombasticstarleague.com. Highest placed account will appear on the ranking. Using multiple accounts on the BSL website is not allowed. If you want to merge your accounts, please contact admins on Discord. Penalty for breaking this rule is a BAN for the BSL Season. b) Sharing accounts is not allowed - one battle.net account can be used by one player only.
6. Race Picking
Upon confirming their participation, players need to declare race and matchups they play for the entire season.
7. Regular match rules
Players must be online and available on Battle.net channel Op BSL (Europe) 15 minutes before their scheduled match. Secondary channel of communication is the BSL Open Discord server - players have to be available on Discord during the matches. 15 minutes after scheduled time, if one of the players is not responding, his opponent may claim a technical win for one game. 15 minutes after that he can claim a win for the whole series. It is not allowed to livestream your games or announce the result before they have been officially casted.
8. Playing matches before the schedule
Every match prior to the Elimination Stage can be played ahead of schedule if both players and admins agree. Contact your opponent and set up the date to play. We strongly suggest using BSL Open Discord for this so admins can keep track of things. On the selected day, play your match. Apply the same rules as for a regular match - use Op BSL and Discord to communicate. If both players were unable to play on their selected date/time or weren't able to set one up, the match should be played as it was scheduled.
Winner of the match must upload the replays to the admins.
9. ShieldBattery
Any match can be played using ShieldBattery if both players and admins agree. For more info please visit the ShieldBattery website.
10. Latency
Default Turn Rate setting is DTR. If both players agree, the Turn Rate setting can be changed.
11. Disconnects
If one of the players gets disconnected from the game before the 2-minute mark, the game must be replayed. If one of the players had an advantage after the 2 minute mark, the decision is up to the admin.
12. Casting the game
Everyone should allow ZZZero or any other responsible person to join the game for broadcast.
13. Unsportsmanlike conduct
Any menace, insults, toxicity, bad manners, racism, homophobia, sexism and any kind of behavior which will be treated as offensive as well as unsportsmanlike conduct will be punished in BSL. If no mitigating circumstances are found, the penalty is the BAN from the BSL season.
14. Prize distribution
Winners of cash prizes are required to contact ZZZero on Discord to agree on the desired form of payment of the prize. Default payment form is via Paypal. Winners must also send Name + Surname and address. The cost of sending funds and commissions are covered by the recipient.
15. Personal Data
Anyone who is participating in the tournament agrees to the processing of their personal data, which they made available to the organizer or which are accessible publicly.
16. Additional info
Anyone who is participating in the tournament and is listed in the PEP, SDN or OFAC lists is obligated to contact the organizer.

Revolver should be replaced with vermeer, good night, or polypoid. I understand that people are bored of polypoid at this point but is actually the nicest map to play on still. Revolver is actually the worst 4 player map out of them all? although it's hard to judge vermeer. On revolver protoss just sits there on 4 bases and 4 gas and every acces point is narrow into a high ground....like what?
Yeah, a protoss had to win ASL, but using this map in BSL where protoss already always wins is a bit overkill.
Ascension is also known as a protoss map. Then you look at turbine, any map where protoss gets a 2nd base for free is traditionally good for them, then the 3rd base just outside is a super narrow area where it looks really difficult to engage. Then base 4 and 5 are relatively nearby with high ground also protecting them.
Just looking at turbine once you know it's going to be pvz heaven.
Metaverse looks like it might play like outsider or optimizer and optimizer. Hard to say anything about balance but if anything dewalt's sair reaver there looked promising.
Really couldnt think of a map pool that looks more protoss favored than this one off the top of my head.

I would throw Monopoly the fuck out for sure. Idk what was the thought process behind picking it instead of Sky Bridge but it was a bad one.. Revolver being P favoured should maybe be replaced, too. Either Polypoid or Vermeer would be fine. I mean I like seeing protoss winning, don't get me wrong.. but this time the map bias may be a little bit too big.
There's still a lot of time to apply the changes.. although i doubt it will happen, unfortunately.

I also just had a look, because I had the impression protoss players tend to do really well in BSL. But it's really just Bonyth. Top 4 in the past 8 BSL tourneys (since they began with group stage format) consists of 32 players (dragon counted as both protoss and zerg) - and it's 15 zergs, 7 terrans, 15 protoss (7x Bonyth). And now we've had a terran champ two seasons in a row. It's all fine!
glad to participate this time around. i will likely be at the bottom of the rank, but i am improving everyday
revolver sucks to play and it sucks to watch. it also wastes everyone's time because so many games go long on it without much chance of comeback

still.. I think Sky Bridge would produce MUCH better games, because it looks fairly standard but with some interesting minor quirks to spice things up. Such a shame it was totally dropped.. Monopoly just looks bad :p
All these maps have been tested and tried; you can agree with them or not but they have already been “under the radar” ; Personally I would like to see kick flip in the next bsl; that map has something special, and will have a great deal of games played on it

yeah.. this actually doesn't make very much sense at all and may discourage many top players from further participation.. I think this needs to be scrapped asap and reverted to the old system with two spots availible via "last chance tour".
I assume it had something to do with some persons (mainly artosis?) thinking/claiming that the "Eu-Inflation of mmr" makes things unfair.
Now I am not sure at all this had impact on the change up and Im also not entirely sure I got this right but this is the thing I assume could have played a role .. to make it "more equal"/"fair"
I don't believe we will have situation where 1750 mmr player qualifies for BSL ProLeague. I just wanted to point out clearly that Asia has four spots in BSL14 qualifiers.
For those who complain: Wait till the end of qualifiers.
Personally I'm more afraid of lack of best players in South American representation than Asian representation.
well I hope it'll end up working out well but it is definitely more confusing than ever before. Hopefully no big drama will ensue because of it.
I still like the old system much better but my voice doesn't matter so all I'm waiting for are amazing foreign BW games played by the best there are in the end
If there is some deviation and the number of spots for a region does not reflect an adequate level of mmr then the system has to correct itself in the next qualification season.
The region that fails to have enough players that reach that mmr will have to be penalized in having reduced spots the next go-around. It's a natural weighting scenario.
I've implemented algorithms for this type of stuff in the past and in the average case it works quite well.

Based on historical data, he would likely get into GosuLeague with that ranking. There are plenty of players who don't confirm their participation for various reasons.
