There's a total of 27 matchups, so each event features 9 live bo3s which is between 18 and 27 games. We don't know how long that's going to take to broadcast. I am guessing over 7 hours and maybe longer for TvP day. Sometimes a single game can last 20 minutes or more, especially on standard maps which we use and particularly when more money is on the line.
Bo3 was pushing it, I think, and that was based on my insistence because of the 1) relatively generous prize pool; 2) the fact that the series is only three days long; and 3) each player is only responsible for playing six live bo3s. So let's see how this format goes. There is also the risk of broken live games, which we will most likely address by simply spoiling the result and moving onto the next games. I don't think we will have time to show the replays of any broken live games.
Also, there was no way to mix up race matchups on each event day, to avoid the same ones over and over again. For example, the players' time zones and schedules would not allow us to do on each day: 3 pvz 3 tvp 3 zvt. So I gave the events race match up names using the titles of various missions in the SC campaign. The Big Push, however, involved Terrans only and not Aiur, if I'm not mistaken. But I thought the name was still relevant to this particular event so I used it
While the Swarm represented by Eonzerg, Koget and Sziky may seem to be the underdogs of this series as compared to the other two teams, particularly because of the relative absence of Eonzerg and Koget lately, both of them have agreed to come out of retirement or inactivity to train for this tournament. Otherwise they would have rejected the invitations and their places would have gone to others who are more active/committed.
Hey other organizers out there, do people realize just how much time and energy we spend hosting free stuff for their viewing pleasure?
(The campaign mission title sounds like Protoss is invading and destroying Zerg but it's actually the reverse :D The Invasion Upon Aiur is more accurate. Love this title though)
I couldn't find a good mission title of a TvP campaign so had to use this But sounded like what the Terrans in this event will have to do (big push to kill Protosses) https://starcraft.fandom.com/wiki/The_Big_Push
I was definitely confused to see the race logos next to people who main that race because I misread the title and thought this was an off-race event lmao, excited to see what comes through, this sounds super dope!!

Yeah the name is kinda stuipid xD
Race-off is a play off the words Face-Off. The players also come from different countries (i.e., belong to different races) so it was supposed to play into that as well. Let's just go with it folks :D
Oh boyyy I almost forgot this was coming up! Really really looking forward to this event in the new year!!! I hope Koget and Eon can surprise us this event

It seems we will most likely need to delay each event by one week. I will confirm that soon and update my announcements.
Basically, new PvZ day would fall on Saturday January 22, new TvP day would be on Saturday January 29 and new ZvT finale would be on Saturday February 5.
"I am the Swarm. Armies will be shattered. Worlds will burn. Now at last, on this world, vengeance shall be mine. For I am the Queen of Blades" - Kerrigan
"My friends, this is our final hour. Not all of us may survive the coming conflict. Yet, death may be a blessing should we fail here. We seek now to destroy a foe that has ravaged its way across the universe consuming all in its path. And now it has reached the end of its long journey. The Overmind has come to destroy all that we hold dear and assimilate us into itself. And I say to thee, this shall not come to pass! Aiur shall not fall! Executor, I stand ready!" - Tassadar

We are servants of Xel'naga, and report the conflicts between the Terran, Protoss, and Zerg in order to bring about our Master's return.
"Described as 'the most powerful species the universe has ever known', the xel'naga have been referred to as 'wanderers from afar'... The protoss referred to the xel'naga as the 'Ihan-rii',the 'Great Teachers', the 'Makers', and the 'Guardians'... and prior to it, worshipped them as gods. Some protoss still refer to them as such.
According to protoss tradition, the Xel'naga were peaceful, benevolent and utterly consumed with studying and propagating sentient evolution within the universe."
"Protoss Commander, this is General Edmund Duke of the Terran Dominion Armada. You are in violation of our air-space and have endangered human lives in your reckless attack against the Zerg. I order you to withdraw your ships immediately. If you fail to comply, I will not hesitate to open fire upon your vessels"
"General Duke, I am Tassadar, and you are well known to me. Whatever leniency I extended to you and your comrades before, may have been in error. If you persist in halting our course, we will burn your pathetic fleet down to the last man"
"All right. All squadrons close formation and scan for hostiles...There's Zerg out here, so it's our job to flush 'em out! I don't want any slip-ups this time! We'll show these critters that they can't run from the Terran Dominion!" - Edmund Duke briefs his forces on Char
"I am Kerrigan. The Zerg you've killed here and the Overmind which you've come to collect... are mine...Every living thing in the universe will bow before the Queen of Blades, or else they will die. Obedience or oblivion. That is why we fight"
Pebble many thanks for your generous donation to the casters Seri & Machine. You are awesome man! Big thanks to des for his donation as well. Feels good to be able to compensate casters who never ask for anything and always volunteer their time for the love of the game and community.
