I think the disconnect is that turn rate and latency are two different things. You can try to make comparisons between different combinations of the two, but they will all feel different depending on your experience and micro capabilities.

I think most people agree that Soma (박상현) is the #1 amateur player right now and another zerg, Zelot (서문지훈), is maybe #2. Who do koreans consider to be the best amateur Protoss and Terran players in korea?

Zerg = #1 Soma (박상현) , #2 Zelot (서문지훈) , #3 Pitbullterrier (김대한)
Protoss = #1 Mighty (이광용)
Terran = #1 Shinee (샤이니) , #2 Bishop (정민기) , #3 Byul (강태완)

The best as an amateur.

I suppose I'm underrated for the list.

Here is my perspective of top best amateurs.

Zerg: Soma, yoon, ZeLoT
Terran: Shinee, others are hard to put in a list due to the same level
Protoss: KEH, Mighty(aka vmqkf), [FOX]Fresh

"Yoon" had an early exit from the amateur competition organized by "Bisu," losing to "Song Jung-woo."

But "Pitbulterrier" won by capturing "ssinz," "No Ji-ho" and "Yoon Soo-woong."

"Yoon" is not in the upper rank of "Zelot."

He has shown too little compared to "Zelot"

Terran totally agrees with you.

But if I were to rank it,

Shinee, Bishop, and Byul.

In fact, Shinee and the other two have wide gaps.

Protoss's "KEH" shows the wrong personality and is being slaughtered on Starcraft 1.

On the other hand, "Mighty" has grown in a great way, showing a good side in the "Starcraft end-of-life war"

"KEH" is only playing king in the dark.
That's why I decided that 'Mighty' is a better player.

Yeah, I know about KEH's issue. vmqkf also has been doing well recently, but he told me he's planning to switch to teamplay fastest someday.

yoon also performed badly on bisu's tourney just like me. However people who are playing competitive, they know what's hidden in the back. ZeLoT also admits yoon is 한수위(one step) ahead of him.

For example, soma vs best on KSL4 map Overwatch, main base 3rd hatchery was extraordinary build opening and that is taught by yoon.

Overall, career and what's showing on competition, Soma, ZeLoT, Shinee are the truth strong players. rest of them are still working on it or not interested to play competitive scene.

Btw why do pro koreans play fastest team games so much but almost never plain 2v2 games? I've seen them play some weird Python version that spawns random stuff as well but no regular 2v2s

Thanks,

Are you allowed to look into flash's eyes, when he would see it? Ok let me explain, I know it's bold to look at someone too long time in korea society, especially at someone of higher status, age, perhaps gender. I am seeing flash as "higher status".

Which game do "new" players prefer, sc2 or bw? Young? I am not interested in other games information.

= Unfortunately, young Korean gamers are not interested in StarCraft 1 and StarCraft 2.

StarCraft 2 is not famous and StaCraft 1 is the entry barrier is too high.

How do you describe "the best" player? (like flash) Gosu not (it's general for all very good player), page 1 word (i dont want to name it) not.

= Korean StarCraft fans have the words "Flsah" and "Bisu." It's "GOD."

"Unfortunately, young Korean gamers are not interested in StarCraft 1 and StarCraft 2."

Yeah the entry barrier to StarCraft 1 is a problem for everyone I believe. It's very difficult to introduce it to someone who isn't already familiar with it or some RTS games at least.

"Korean StarCraft fans have the words "Flsah" and "Bisu." It's "GOD."

That's interesting, I didn't know that. I thought only Flash had the title of "GOD".

Gamers have many nicknames.

"Shine" is called a typhoon.
"Jaedong" is nicknamed a tyrant.
"Zero" is nicknamed Queen.
"Stork" is nicknamed Commander-in-Chief.
"Best" is nicknamed a monster.
"Flash" is the final weapon.
"Bisu" is nicknamed a revolutionary.

But among them, "Flash" and "Bisu" are given the title "God."

I see, I'm not arguing with you or saying that you are wrong. I just I didn't know "Flash" and "Bisu" were considered "equals". I thought that "Flash" was one level above "Bisu" (since "Flash" won so many more tournaments). It's nice to know since I'm a fan of both players

Thanks for your replies!

do koreans in general not know what Turn Rate is for?

I play in the morning and it's mostly vs koreans, the game settles at TR20 which is fine but I still get insulted almost every single game, I'm surprised it happens so often considering the game is perfectly playable most of the time

This is a very complicated problem.

You'll be playing on RT 20.

Most of Korea is played on RT 8 to 4.

That is why Koreans seem to be in a bad mood.

I agree with you in general. But I have a question.

As far as I know, the "2Hatchery Mutal" build order at T vs. Z was informed by "Pitbulterrier" to "soma."
It is more accurate because he mentioned it in person.

That "2Hatchery Mutal" changed the paradigm of T vs. Z.

Many of the top players, including "Zero" and "Action," also sought advice on "Soma"dprp "2Hatchery Mutal."

So what is the contribution of "Pitbuller"?

There is another reason why two people call God.

Because "flash" does what you think it does.

"Bisu" is because the paradigm of P vs Z has really changed a lot by "Bisu."

Calm seems to have many fans despite losing a lot of his skill since the kespa era. He has a large stream following and tons of fans showed up to cheer for him in ASL7. Is that because they're fans from when he was on STX? Or are they are newer fans because of his streaming personality? Was he that popular during the kespa days?

What is Kal (goojila) doing now?

How do korean fans feel about the KSL compared to the ASL? Foreign fans here seem to be glad that it exists but wish that it had more interesting maps.

Has jaedong ever talked about his experience on Team 8? His results were never as good once Hwaseung disbanded. Has he ever talked about why he started to lose a lot of ZvZs in his last year of the kespa/team 8 era?

Jaedong seems to be effectively retired? I don't think he's streamed in a while and he didn't even try to qualify for KSL4. Has he announced if he's going to the military soon? Or why he has stopped streaming? For instance wrist health or just lack of motivation?

Was last really harassed a lot online by jaedong fans after the KSL1 finals?

Who do korean fans consider to be the best protoss player ever? It seems like it should be bisu but his lack of starleague success since the Clubday MSL make it hard to say, especially with stork being a lot more consistent and jangbi winning the last 2 OSLs.

= All three are right.
He has been popular since his pro career under the nickname "Brain Zerg."
Also, many people watch his personal broadcast because it is fun.
And there are fans of STX.

What is Kal (goojila) doing now?

= He quit his private broadcast and works for a company.

How do korean fans feel about the KSL compared to the ASL? Foreign fans here seem to be glad that it exists but wish that it had more interesting maps.

= The KSL is a competition where many top gamers do not participate.

The reason is because I broadcast in Twich.

This is because the KSL's regulation does not allow the replay to be shown to viewers as a personal broadcast.

But that's what makes gamers competitive.

It is a competition called the hope of the minor leagues.

Has jaedong ever talked about his experience on Team 8? His results were never as good once Hwaseung disbanded. Has he ever talked about why he started to lose a lot of ZvZs in his last year of the kespa/team 8 era?

= He foresaw that the pro league would be abolished during the short eight game period.
Also, not all Team 8 were practicing hard.
They were all said to have been motivated and not practiced properly because they thought the professional league would be abolished.

Jaedong seems to be effectively retired? I don't think he's streamed in a while and he didn't even try to qualify for KSL4. Has he announced if he's going to the military soon? Or why he has stopped streaming? For instance wrist health or just lack of motivation?

= He did a private broadcast yesterday.

Was last really harassed a lot online by jaedong fans after the KSL1 finals?

= Fans of "Jaedong" are highly conscious.

So it seems that their fans didn't curse "Last."

Who do korean fans consider to be the best protoss player ever? It seems like it should be bisu but his lack of starleague success since the Clubday MSL make it hard to say, especially with stork being a lot more consistent and jangbi winning the last 2 OSLs.

= I agree with you.

"Stork," "jangbi," and "Bisu" are all always considered the best protoss players.

But personally, I think Bisu, the pioneer of "P vs. Z," is a better gamer.

Both "Last" and "Flash" have been told that their wrists are pretty bad.
Because they have to join the army soon I will be cautious about participating in the contest.
