It's a hard game to gain more popularity.

But existing fans still like StarCraft 1.

Is it very common to watch Starcraft on Cable TV for Koreans?

Not really. It's hard to explain because there are various events.

The majority of StarCraft 1 fans watch StarCraft through Internet broadcasting.

I am aware of the misstatement of Cadenzie. But it is a problem with the pronunciation of Korea. It's an unavoidable problem.

streaming themselves eating? -> I don't think it's a question I can answer. I'm sorry.

Hello Cruiser0929 welcome to teamliquid, and thank you for posting here, I hope you have a pleasant experience here in this community;

My question is about Stork, Song Byung Goo, what is he up to lately, anything interesting?

감사합니다 , gam-sa-ham-ni-da

First of all, I am very grateful for your welcome. Thank you.

"Stork" was recently sued by someone else by his wife.
However, he soon won the case and informed the viewers that there was no problem.
He looked very happy.

He has recently been doing well with his wife and one children.

Of course, I continue to do broadcasting activities.

Thanks

What do Koreans think about the current state/future of real time strategy games?

With Brood War being so popular obviously, SC2 and Warcraft 3 to varying degrees.

Do Koreans play a lot of other RTS games and would welcome another popular one, or do they just love Brood War as a game more than just the genre.

Thanks for doing this, it’s hard for us foreigners to get insight due to the language/cultural barriers

to put it plainly The reason why StarCraft 1 is more popular than SC2 and Warcraft in Korea.

This is because it is the game that best suits the sentiments of Koreans

in my own personal opinion. StarCraft 1 is not going to go to hell in Korea.

Better to replace Starcraft 1. If there is an RTS genre game that suits Korean tastes, the story may be different.

But the reason why StarCraft 1 didn't go down in Korea.

This is partly because, at least by Korean standards, there is no RTS game that is superior to StarCraft 1 and suitable for Korean tastes.

Interesting response, thanks.

If I may ask what are the Korean tastes and what kind of games suit that?

What website do korean players get pro replays from? Where can korean players look up and discuss build orders? I’m interested in trying to access the same information as korean players to learn more.

Hello and thank you for doing this!

You said that Korean children are not interested in Starcraft 1. My question is, has there been ANY noticeable amount of new Starcraft fans in Korea who started playing only in the recent years? It seems like Starcraft 1 is still being played a bit in the PC bangs. Or are most of those people old fans?

Do you know what ever happened to SangHo/Killler/Swagger? I really loved him and was curious if anyone knows what he did after Starcraft.

Is ygosu just a general message board, or is it all about Starcraft? Liquipedia is great for some info but some of it is dated or unclear. I got a bunch of replays off bwreplays and it’s been immensely helpful in clarifying things I was trying to learn from liquipedia.

It is very difficult to explain.

One thing for sure.

A game that suits Korean tastes may or may not be all games.

For example

StarCraft 1 was successful, but Warcraft and StarCraft 2 were shunned.

The League of Legend succeeded, but Dota was turned away.

Fortnite is world famous, but not very famous in Korea. (even though there was a big ad)

The overwatch succeeded, but the counterstrike was turned away.

In Korea, however, a game similar to counterstrike called Sudden Attack is very popular and many people are playing.

However, there have always been successful cases of games that were ignored.

Warcraft is "Moon" Jang Jae-ho.

StarCraft 2 is many gamers such as "Maru" , "Soo" , "Dary" , "TY".

tekken is "knee," etc.

And Dota2 is "MVP Phoenix" Team and Counterstrike's "MVP Project" team.

In many fields, Korean players are proving their competitive edge enough.

I think

Games to suit Korean taste

I think most games have a little luck.

When the League of Legend became famous in Korea,

It was when StarCraft 1 was losing its popularity.

Overwatch has also become another option for gamers who have been playing both the League of Legend and Starcraft.

Yes, they are most likely old fans.

Because when Korea's StarCraft professional league system was activated. They are 14 to 18 years old when they saw the professional league the hardest.

They are probably forming an age group in their mid to late 20s by now.

umm...
I must say. No matter what Web site you go to in Korea, it will be hard for anyone to get a replay of a progamer.

The reason is that they are very sensitive to replay.
(Strategic exposure or consideration for the other party, etc.)

Also, Ygosu is no longer a friendly site.

There are still many good people. There are a lot of bad StarCraft 1 fans compared to the past. I don't think you'll be much of a help to get into the site.

In fact, there are quite a few of the gamers and fans who don't use Ygosu.
