Did you know that in 2002, CompUSA held a bunch of eSports tournaments that included two Starcraft: Broodwars events? You didn't? Well, if you might be curious about learning about those events and the players in it, the video is:

Doing these as an experiment to see if there is a way to document these events in an interesting way. Volume 1 took a different style approach and followed one of the first eSports events ever broadcasted on television in North America: The Winter X Gamers Challenge. Thanks!

You should do KBK. Abusing win trading became more important than playing the actual game back then.

To clarify for others, SCU got 2nd as Whear was at his peak gosu at this time. But 2nd place for $2,500 is indeed still winning.

KBK might be part of a future compilation episode at some point but was a relatively minor event in esports history by itself. Considering I'm likely to cut back to doing an episode a month after the PGL episode since interest in these topics does seem limited, that would likely be years away from the content I have in my head to cover.

So unless someone saved / archived those very well done programer interviews from that site known as brassknuckles.net, they are gone and the others I've found just pale in comparison. ><)
