It simulates a lan type connection, but obviously w/o lan capacity, so it runs into problems. Someone in the old hamachi threads explained this in much more concrete terms | ||

like if you're hosting a game and are on 3 hamachi servers, all 3 servers can see you, but the players arent all on the same network, so if people from different networks join, it will lag horribly also, hamachi is very laggy with alot of players because it requires a shitload more of packets to be sent/received, because it doesnt all go through the host. | ||

Google "starcraft port forwarding" or do not play games with other people. I hate people like you, because 90% of lag on b.net in games I play is because of this. | ||

Portforwarding only affects whether you can make, rarely how much lag in games that you join. And not everyone can forward their ports, especially if they live in a environment like a college dorm. Also its their right to play BW with whoever they like, regardless of whether they feel like screwing w/ their network settings. | ||
