you mean disgustingly good right? Hes one of the best if not the best TvZers of all time.

I won't deny that his TvZ was very good. One of the best? Maybe. The best? Definitely not. What I meant was that his style was very painful to watch for a zerg player like me. It was disgustingly exploitative. There was no beauty to it like in Fantasy's or Hwasin's TvZ for example.

I would argue that his fundamentals far exceeds that of FanTaSy's, and his failings in the match-up was more to do with his failings as a player, rather than his limitations in that specific match-up. Flash rated him very highly for his pure fundamentals, and just watching dismantle lesser players with his monstrous mechanics was a sight to behold. Hwasin was a very linear player who exceeded in timing attacks, and his ability to pull off huge wins off his battling capability, but had no where near the amount of late game management and multitasking ability of Light's. Just in terms ability in this one specific match-up, I would rank Light above both Hwasin and FanTaSy to be honest.

That's not what I was talking about. Again, I don't deny that his TvZ was very strong. But I didn't like to watch it. It made me feel sick to my stomach. In contrast, watching Fantasy for his innovative/interesting play and Hwasin for his elegant micro was much more satisfying and beautiful to watch as a zerg. Light just exploited what zerg was weakest at and stomped down the road. Sure that's smart but I thought we were talking about _observing_.
Reducing Hwasin to timing pushes is also not fair. He had really good M&M control which brought a lot of force to his continuous pushes.

I am a bw fanatic, but it kinda feels this way to me still. Look at the crowd at the last finals: 25-26yo guys on average, plus a total lack of fangirls. Sponsors, tournaments and active ex-pros are awesome, but the key for survival is young followers, of which there are very few. I'm enjoying it while it lasts, but can't help feeling like it's the late autumn for our game. The shit Sonic got his company into and the impending leave of Bisu don't help too. What we need is Flash and Jaedong destroying the Fish server once again.

ps: does anyone know if these 2 tournaments include the next VNSL, or are they a bonus? Is the next VNSL supposed to happen?

I totally agree.
In my opinion there is one major condition to make BW big again in Korea:
Kespa-teams have to revive (small) BW-rosters that can and do support young/new players.
If thats established they may grow until BW is back in its former glory. Sadly the graphics makes it really unappealing to Dota-, LoL- and SC2.players. Maybe they should change to Starbow in 2-3 years .

As far as I remember Fantasy was known for going mech-only TvZ, because he would lose left and right with his bio control. Nothing appealing in this. Only at the end of pro-BW he started relying more on his bio-based builds. Also as a zerg player I can't agree with you :/ Light's TvZs were most anticipated for me (well, after Flash v JD, and any other T v JD)

Sonic had some plans back in 2015 but now we can pretty much assume that those plans went to the trash can.

If Sonic manages to recover in 2017, we might have SSL and NSL played concurrently on OGN/Afreeca.

His credibility is gone, I don't see the sponsors taking a chance.

Maps without pathing issues are for scrubs. That's where the real multi-tasking challenge lies. All hail to Neo Medusa and siblings.

Actually whats interesting to note is that after Light's 0-3 loss to Kwanro, Light became the tvz monster that we know him as today. Before the series Light had a decent tvz but it was nothing really special then he just went on a insane 13 tvz win streak which included Kwanro after.

Just to clarify, I think by "today", you mean 2011 and yonder.

Not sure if Light will (ever) return to form, but in 2016, but his TvZ is far from dominant and he struggles against even high level amateurs. Not sure if it's the lack of crisp bio control or slow mech switch, but alas, in his current form, his TvP is more effective than his TvZ.

These days, Mind, Sea, PianO, Last, HiyA, and several others are far stronger at TvZ
