So while i perfectly understand your frustration and i agree you were treated in a unfair way, perhaps it's helps you knwoing you were in a lucky spot to begin with.

![]() Can very much empathize with being usurped, it really is a shame how things transpired so underhandedly... Won't happen. Twitch was popular when international streaming became mainstream and at this point, they are too big to fail (despite several missteps in the past two years). Big crouds attract a lot of streamers and a lot of streamers attract big crouds. Youtube can be the only worthy competitor if they do it right but I doubt it since they have several issues (no livestreaming on Youtube allowed in Germany for example). Local livestreaming services should pander only to the local people, everything else is wasted money. I told that the nico² people but they still tried and obviously failed.

Anyways, if this would've happened 4 years ago, I might've (and probably would've) been excited, now I'm just wondering if they're actually going to be capable of commentating without fucking about more than usual just to cover up the lack of knowledge of the current scene and how the game's played nowadays. Awk well, probably not going to bother watching it, as I predict the commentary to be subpar in terms of knowledge.

Wonderful news people have been asking for for 6 years. Clearly a positive step forward for Brood War. It will surely bring back some viewers who had left long ago. edit: But wow did Wolf seem to not remotely comprehend the importance of what Tasteless was saying during that announcement. He interrupted him to read a sign in the crowd lol.

Okay, thanks for the info. Just thought it might be possible, since the Afreeca GSL is also streamed on twitch.

He interrupted him to read a sign in the crowd lol. Here's how I see it: we have two amazing members of the BW community who have contributed and put time in an otherwise "dead game" (as many call it). Seems to me that strengthening the existing, and die-hard, community of fans was reward in itself. But they get an even bigger reward when they finally got hired on to cast Then suddenly, two other guys, the "big dogs", come calling around. These are two guys who left BW for the "greener pastures" of SC2. On the other hand, it seems to be pretty clear how passionate BD/xkcd are. But the "big dogs" are, well, the "big dogs". So they unceremoniously kick out the guys they originally hired and then bring in the "big dogs" to cast the last few matches? What the hell is that? To me it seems very distasteful (tasteless, even). From a strictly business and/or professional point-of-view, it seems very unsavory. This is regardless of casting quality. I apologize in advance if you think that that is a "ridiculous reaction". Also, I'm not saying it's not a "positive step" for BW. But some people need to take this in stride. Will they stick around? Will they cast these last few matches and then go away again? Will the people who "return" to watch BW stick around, as well? Or are they just following the casters? On the other side, I have no doubt that BD/xkcd are going to stick around.

This isn't about whether or not Tasteless and/or Artosis are "traitors". It's about how they decided to "return" and how the whole thing has been handled.
