It's been suggested to create an official skype channel group to facility the meeting of the players since many ppl are afk in channel.

Why not? Give a try and see if it helps to find allies and opponents to play.

How do you join this, the link in the link just says to open it in the browser. skype: is not a protocol my browser recognizes though, I don't have any Skype Browser addons, is there a way to be added to the group manually?

I don't think you can join a group just by knowing the name. The link didn't worked for me from a browser, but it worked by pasting it on skype in a random chat, and then by clicking on it.

if your using Firefox you can do it as long as you specify what the link will open

Or iccup.face if you are the "MASTER/CREATOR" you have to type in

/set options +JOINING_ENABLED

but the first worked just fine.

Why did you change the group?

This new group you have to accept everyone?
