Tasteless was a major reason for me finding bw and its community outrageously cool when I first got into it. Tasteless playing broodwar brings back a lot of joyous memories.

He was mostly listening to Portugal. the Man for the 3 hours I watched, other than a one game interlude of zany electronic stuff that sounded like cats fist-fighting racoons.
Also, this stream was a blast to watch. It was pretty easy to tell he was having a lot of fun. His analysis was quite informative too, the times that he did it.
I'm guessing he is going to cast the up coming GOMTV Classic. That will be great. Tasteless casting BW has always been quite good though.

This really isn't lying in my opinion, since it's clearly just a hype thing or whatever. As for the "best game ever" thing, Tasteless and Artosis have, for the longest time since SC2 came out, been using the term "Starcraft" to say things like "Starcraft is like a sport in Korea" or "Starcraft is the hardest game ever" and with that viewed both BW and SC2 as one big thing (or at least presented it as one), maybe in order to pass over some of BW's legitimacy onto SC2. Yeah sadly not even Koreans were good enough to master the beast that is AOE 1. It's a game ahead of its time, but I'm sure it'll be appreciated by whatever replaces/upgrades the human races.

yeah and its this over top hyping that i didn't like. I mean ofc i want a caster to be passionate about the game, but i dislike it when its faked. And yeah Tastosis kept referring to "Starcraft" as one entity. No differentiation made. To me, this is very annoying, because it implies BW is something from the past, part of a legacy and not an esport that is played in the present. But i did consider your point and agree that calling this behavior lying is to harsh. It's hyperbole hyping which appears, at least to me, dishonest.

To be honest this is the way it happens in my head. I played BW alot, probably will always "prefer" it. But definitely watched and played the shit out of SC2 and still do when I have time. But to me they are both Starcraft. I just really hate how this is even an issue in general (and in this thread, I know...I'm not helping). I think of us all as 1 big "Starcraft" community and it makes me sad that alot of people don't feel that way.

you know, i respect if thats your feeling towards the games, and i agree it would be nice it is was perceived it general that way. However, for me for a number of reasons, i don't feel that way and i draw a clear distinction between sc2 and BW. Let's just say there is a reason i left Sc2 for good.
