Ok today's an off day so I though I'd treat you all with an interview of Nada. FiFo arranged an hour long fan Q&A session with him recently and here are some of the highlights...
Q: How does it feel to be in both major leagues again? A: I don't know what to say, it's been so long since I've participated in an individual league. It feels good to be able show my games to my mother and my fans, who have been waiting a long time.
Q: Who do you think will be your biggest challenge (rival)? A: Well.. let's see, there are a lot of rookies this season - they've been doing well during my absence from the major leagues and I want to test their play myself. So.. I guess everyone.
Q: What do you do in your free time? A: Well I used to go watch movies, go out drinking and travel a lot with my friends. Recently, though, I just like quiet places. I'd like to go find some nice mountains with fresh air.
Q: What do you think of your nick name "Sea Otter"? A: I'm used to it now.. it's even considered a natural treasure.
Q: Do you have any jinxes? A: Things don't go to well if I happen to wake up really early in the morning, or when I get something unexpected on my schedule on the day of my games. Last Dual Tournament I had an unexpected event (he doesn't say what) scheduled which messed up my gaming rhythm.
Q: A lot of the oldschool gamers are having a slump. What do you think about that? A: Well saying that the oldschool gamers are having a slump is correct, but I think saying that the new rookies are getting better would be a better assessment. There's virtually no skill difference now, and everybody, old and new, has to practice hard if they want to win.
Q: Before televised matches you play zerg to warm up.. is there any particular reason why? A: No, not really. I just like getting mutas and picking off workers. It's fun.
Q: Oov has always picked you as his rival, what do you think about that, and what do you think are the differences in your play? A: I've always had great respect for Oov's play, I think I'm a little lacking to be called his rival. Oov has a better overall feel(vision) for the game - that's something I would like to learn.
Q: Anytime you wanted to quit progaming? A: When I was with KTF. My gaming record was good, but I was the youngest on the team and had difficulty adjusting. I even went home a couple times.
Q: You always seem to meet Nal_Ra at important stages. A: Well we're just playing because we both got through the qualifiers.. I don't think he's particularly worried that I'm in his group either. I just wish that we can both make through to the next round.
Q: When did you really feel that you were famous? A: A friend and I went to a restaurant and ordered enough for the 2 of us. The owner asked me for an autograph and gave us enough for 3 - I though I was going to burst!
Q: Why did you pick Terran? A: Heh.. terran are humans! They fight to protect the planet don't they? I saw the movie Starship troopers and I though they were a lot like the Terran. Made me feel better heh.
Q: How is your weight increase program going? How much do you weigh now? A: Actually I stopped for a bit since I'm training for the upcoming individual leagues. I managed to get my weight up to 63kg [damn he's light] but I lost another 2. I've grown 2 cms now, I'm 180cm tall ^^. [So basically he's 180 and 61 kgs.. damn. Actually I have a friend who's 188 and 65 so.. scary skinny people]
Q: How's your skin? A: I actually used the cosmetics that was on the news, the one where they illegally put in a bunch of mercury. Side effects are huge right now unfortunately.. I'm going to a dermatologist to try and fix it and things seem to be getting better. [Note- this was on the news a while back actually, some asshole cosmetics company put in a whole lot of mercury into their products, way more than allowed, which gave users clearer skin or something.. for a little bit then the side-effects broke out.. ugly!]
Q: What do you think about posts like "I love you nada!" on message boards? A: A little embarassing actually. [ahh he's shy]
Q: I went to get my hair done at a shop in 노량진and the owner said you go there too, is it true? A: Yep, I always go there to get hair cuts.
Q: You have a car don't you? Have you ever been caught speeding or parking illegally? A: I got a ticket parking outside the Pantech house just today. I get caught speeding a lot.. I have confidence in my control (micro) so I used to speed up even when I see a camera. I decided not to let my pride get the bestof me and slow down from now on^^.
Q: What about the rumors about you changing teams? A: I won't switch teams ^^. I've said once a while ago that I would leave to find happiness, and I found it.. and found sadness as well (I guess he's talking about his father's death). I get this feeling sometimes that I want to leave to do something important, but this isn't the time. I guess that's somethign to think about once I've accomplished something here. I have big dreams and I hope all of you do too, somedays those dreams will come true. Also.. the golden mous is mine!! [the ID of the fan that asked this question was "Catch the golden mouse"]

isnt is so anoying how korea is like the one country that speaks absolutely NO english, and every single sc player wishes they could speak korean. I think god is fucking with our minds.

Hey this is the best interview i read for years. I find it's a lot more interesting to read private /personnal and funny questions than all those others clone interviews .Good job eassare and thanks (i have always been a nada fan). And btw what happened to his father ? When and how did he die?

His father was killed by a drunk driver. Something to do with an illegal turn the drunk driver made
Also, I'm gonna ask this in this thread at the risk of getting flamed, but does anyone know if NaDa on Europe is the real Nada?
I played a 2v2 against him and some other guy and got absolutely raped and I consider myself to be a decent player. I tried to save rep but there was an "error closing handle" or something like that. He picked terran and he's 19-1 on Europe.
Any chance I had the pleasure of getting raped by THE NaDa?
I would've suspected min hack b/c his macro was so sick and the rep was corrupted but I was scanning him a lot and no sign of the little comsat blowing up thing, so I thought maybe he used something to corrupt the reps b/c he didn't want his reps getting out? Also, he build in a very organized way like NaDa. *shrug* I'm sure it's imposter but who knows...

I'm 100% sure it wasn't him. These guys don't play on bnet ^_^ and if they did it wouldn't be on Europe, and if it was they wouldnt be able to use their nicks because they're all taken, and if they did, well they just don't :-)

They are fan questions, not an official interview. The how much do you weigh question is relevant because he announced that he was going to try to buff up because he was so skinny. I think it was an effort to pick up the players' physically because they spent so much of their time sitting and playing. The skin question is also a decent question, because the mercury in cosmetics thing was a big deal. I'm not talking about a couple of pimples on the forehead.. some of the sample pics they had on the news regarding side effects were really ugly. I guess news that nada had also used to same stuff got out and the fans were curious as to what his condition was. Remember these guys get televised often, so they need to take care of their skin/hair and appearance in general. People like Boxer, Yellow, Reach.. and I guess nada to some extent also get by on their looks.. and marketing the gamers is important.
I've always liked the guy, not a nerd but not a cocky asshole either. He's just a nice guy and an incredible player who really brought a revolution in the game.

They were follow-up questions to previous interviews/things that had happened - ie I remember nada saying he wanted to workout and add some weight/bulk and he had been having problems with his skin because of the mercury-containing skincare lotion mentioned.
