Keeping fingers crossed we get a nice showing for such an ambitious auditorium!
Maybe a little too much TvZ for my taste....nah who am I kidding TvZ is epic, especially with these different characters coming at it.
Nada v Yellow I fear will be super one-sided...unless Yellow really has some serious surprises for us, but Nada has been active on snipe here and there and was generally stronger regardless.

It is too long. It should be
Bronze: BO3 Legend: BO1 Final: BO5 or BO7
|
The finals games especially should be great. Killer and Hiya both showed in the semifinals that they were a step beyond their opponents.
I agree with others that Bo5 format would be better for the finals.
I think Bo5 is a better format for BW series than Bo7, in general. There's always a trade-off in series length. Shorter series are more tense, more random, and more favourable to preparation and strategic plays (aka cheeses). Longer series are less tense, more skill-based, and more favourable to core skills and standard strategies.
I like the trade-off of a Bo5 the best. It's short enough that every game feels important, unlike a Bo7, where the first and second games often don't feel super exciting. Yet it's not too random. Because each game is important, it's worth preparing strategic plays, but unlike a Bo3, you can't win the series off a couple of cheeses.

Haven't watched BW recently, but will definitely tune in for the finals - that's one sweet OZ final match.
Agree with the 3rd place match being BO3, you gotta save the momentum for the finals game.

Finals always have to be BO7, always!

Except that Starleague finals have always historically been Bo5. I will say I personally like Bo7 however.

SSL finals have always traditionally been Bo7, there will no be point in talking about it.
If anything, probably bronze becomes Bo3 and Legends becomes Bo1

If you average every single game out to 30 minutes long including the breaks in between matches, then it comes out to 7.5 hours worth of BW.

Awesome! Wouldn't have minded PvT bronze match to accompany the best match-up possible for the finals, but you can't have everything in life :D

And 13 games? Way too much, Sonic being a bit too eager. Should do the bronze games on another day.

so negative
consider it the risk you have to take to gain the great reward of being able to gloat to SC2 fans for months

So dumb to hold it then...Sonic has to know that overlapping with GSL is only a bad thing.

i am stoked for this, and happy that the game series are so long. Personally i dont care that it is on the same day as the GSL finals, that will mostly hurt physical turnout but i have more than one monitor, and a laptop as well as my desktop... Point being im not going to be missing anything because they are on the same day. If anything ill just get a serious lack of sleep.
Will be interesting to see the actual turn-out at each event over in korea.

I have to choose between this or GSL final? They can't be serious.
