OH MY GOD WHEN!?! Thursday, Jan 24 8:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) The betting will begin after SRT group D finishes to be more precise.
What tournaments will be covered? At this time we have decided to focus on two of the many great tournaments running, Teamliquid Legacy Starleague and Sonic Leagues starting with the 12th SOSPA Ranking Tournament
What does winning the 25th inaugural Starcraft Brood War Liquibet mean? This is the first foreign based season of Liquibet and the 25th anniversary. Carrying this title will glorify you forever!

Oh crap, you're making a valid point, I'm going t fail so bad at the foreigner votes D:
just bet on zergs, there are so many you can't lose
More zergs means more zergs that are going to lose as well as more zergs that are going to win.. Every single player could be Zerg, and your "argument" would still be nonsensical.
If you're gonna make a racist joke, at least make a funny joke. Hell, if you're gonna make any joke at all, make it funny.

This is why power rank is going to be nice down the line. I know that's up in the air too and it probably can't exist till after the first TLS, but it will be awesome to have after that.

When new LBs are added you should be able to see them in the top left of your screen, where you log out/check PMs etc. Just click the yellow numbers (currently it's 0/0, that'll change).

Trust me, that's not enough. These players aren't known to be very consistent, like Sea cruising through SRT11 and losing out in the group stages of SRT12, or HiyA going 0-2 in SRT11 and 2-1 in SRT12.
Do you have Misc. selected under SC2 in the TL options on the top left? I just tried it out and if it's not checked Liquibet doesn't show up. Hope that fixes it.
Anyways, I'm going with Movie, Hero, Sky, and Hiya.
BW Liquibet! I remember for one season, I consistently bet using the P > T > Z > P formula (and bet on Flash to win everything), and ended up doing better than I ever did with analysis or planning and such. Good times!
missed the first 2 bets, but that's just as well since I would have placed my bet wrong, at least in the beast vs Sky match...
For the other two I took: Movie and by.hero. I went with my gut on Movie, even though Shuttle might have the better PvP of the two. I haven't heard of Perry, so I pretty had to go with hero for that match.
Hope BW Liquibet keeps going now that there are so many BW tournaments going on

Yeah a lot off people picked Sky me included. I know not to auto pick him now.
Also, I think it's awesome hot_bid and iNcontrol are in first and second place lol.
Tabulated (with the help of GeckoXP) in order for obtaining points on a qualifier. (who is most likely to get points based on previous attemtps: So per attempt on qualifier, maximum points received)
leave your team in the thread: Same rules as regular 5 players (1captain for tie-break, if multiple tie break we'll roll a die or something O,o) 30 points total, and you need 3 players on your anti team to add to 13points.
This will only last the remaining two qualifiers. Points gained for your team will be: 1win = 5pts | 2wins = 11 pts | 3wins = 21 pts | 4wins = 41 pts | 5wins = 65pts | 6wins = 90 pts | 7wins = 115pts (this is the winner of the tour to put into perspective)

Yeah, it's a tossup between you SP and Napoleon, and apart from trutacz it's really hard to guess who will advance.
I think draw will win his 2 games unless it's a big upset...i'm more concerned about that last spot between SP and Nap, but picked Nap in the end. Hope I'm right
Liquibet for gambit cup is so amazing! It's strange that the new season of GC has no carry over from last season to the grand finals, but I guess that's good news for teams like iFU who are adding new players and will have an equal chance now.

Dangit, why does the final have to be worth 8 pts. So scary....I really want to vote for Michael, because I think he will pull of some amazing play, but Sziky is just so good. What to pick, what to pick..

Only missed 1 pick in GC, and that was the first round with whoever NW played...not picking against that team again (unless it 's sas, but I still might pick NW).
I went with NW...if they can take nation wars, they can take GC they should add in a liquibet for Sziky vs Sea and Michael vs Sea and just void whichever one isn't applicable

I also picked LRM, big mistake. The tough CW this week to pick is iFU/LRM and FR/iWL not really sure how that will turn out. LancerX still yet to win a game, eventually it :must: happen. Eon where is AlfiO when you need him?

Same, GC has been very generous. There is still time to catch up on points. SSL major bets will kick in soon. And season 25 is going to run through another TLS tournament too.

Knowing LRM had a weak lineup is cheating Fell behind one point again
LRMs costing me everything... I voted for NW against them, and for them again FR... For group stage for SSL, do we just have to guess correctly one of the advancing players, or do we get a point for each player we guess correctly to advance?

Going to have some really good CWs this weekend :D couldn't decide for a while who to pick. NW could pull an upset against sas, FR/SJ seems really close and iWL vs iFU can have some decent games as well.
I still blame beast for wrecking my lb in that bj ranking tourney.
always voted against him, then voted for him when he lost the finals vs movie. Kid cost me 15 points (though pretty much everyone voted against him for by.hero and sky, which were 5 point and 3 points respectively)
64% point 79% vote, but I expect that to go down more since I don't watch clan wars
really beast is the reason for everyone's mismatch

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CANT DECIDE!!! for some reason I am getting a feeling that FR is going to beat NW, and I don't know why... maybe it's because BSL is over and I don't see the polish guys online as frequently.
I'm more concerned about LRM vs sas. On the one hand, LRM managed to drop 2 sets to Fox. On the other hand, if they bring a lineup like TechnicS, dOTY, Semih, Bakuryu, Kolll, and get favourable matchups against sas players (Game is quite good at predicting lineups), I can see easily see LRM pulling off a win.
lol no clue how this works but somehow I pulled away again... Also Terrorterran jumped a lot over the past 2 weeks if anyone else noticed.
edit: btw how do we pick between Tyson and HiyA? Tyson is so random, he will lose vs some 1200 guy on fish because his micro was god awful and then go on to beat sea 3 times in a row...

I did the same thing but I figured 1 extra week wont change much, the people who practice will practice and the people who dont will not practice.
I was on the fence about SJ vs LRM because of LRM's flaky lineup but went with them anyway since I thought they could rally the troops for this one last week to try and make the playoffs. If there's a week break, I can see it being much harder for them to bring people next week so I would have voted SJ instead.

im having a hard time with this T_T killer is my favourite player in the SSL (on par with sea i guess but hes out ;_;) but hes up agaisnt ssak (who has some really awesome tvz lategame) but killer in the last ssl played heavy mid-games with a ton of lurker ling. Which might be ssak's weakest point, but its pretty hard to completely kill a terran if they turtle up, and than it heads into a lategame where its ssak's game(if he isnt too far behind) and yeah im sure killer has a much better lategame than the other zergs ssak has faced but memories of that jaedong flash game keeps poping up with like a million tanks on FS and jaedong runs like 8-10 ultras in to get obliterated.
AND then theres hiya and hero, if u asked me before this ssl who was going to win i would say hiya, hero just seemed to luck his way through with some cheese, however his recent games have been really good and i cant say hiya is solidest player to take him down. omg so hard... sayle was right, why did sonic have to randomize the bracket hiya vs ssak and killer vs hero would have been fine or hiya vs killer and ssak vs hero either way ssak and killer would probably be in the finals.
and if does go to the finals: killer and hero (lol i think its going to be a stomp like the last one, killers zvz seems immaculate, especially making excellent decisions when behind to exploit every error his opponent makes, wanna win while u have a lead vs killer? u better play perfect through the rest of the game than O_O)

Maybe the way Movie played in Ro8 compared to the way Sea played his. That was a tough call though.
While the stats are convincing sometimes you can just tell when a player is going to win.
Have I told you guys the story about when coach Park sent out Bisu in the ace match of proleague finals back in 2012. He was considering sending Fantasy. Knowing all well it was a protoss favored map KT would send Flash no matter what. But then he looked in Bisu's eyes. He said he saw something in that moment. Either Bisu was destined to go into that booth or he was about to throw up from all the nervousness and pressure. Low and behold, Bisu was destined to win. The game starts and he goes in there with some proxy aggression that Flash overcomes putting Bisu in a tough spot. Well Bisu, despite his record vs terran, despite his record vs Flash, despite all you haters out there, the gorgeous, the courageous, the bestestest, Bisu won the ace match to take the victory for SKT.
Let's be honest, mOvie is the best afreeca streamer atm. He probably should have won Sea. I have to go with Sea in the finals now as he wrecked Killer last time and killer isn't looking so active.
ah shit sea down 2-1 I think I lost my liquibet lead because of sea, 1) he beat movie when he shouldn't have 2) he's losing to killer when he wrecked him last time. 2 for 2 sea... you really letting me down

well its 2-2 now sea played so amazingly on FS damn it just when i thought i was so close to getting first...T_T now behind at least 4 points omg...sigh

I bet soon as the bet was available, even the other matches that I may or may not know. I always vote before I know the result because there's no point in cheating, my only competitor is myself.

Exactly.
sign 5 points behind...but i guess it wasnt as worse when i was 8 points behind theres still time to catch up!!! (i think...)
Why did you pick sea in semis but not in finals?? strange :D Thought you would've picked Sea and Julia to catch me today.
picked sea out of love in the semis, but i really did think killer would take it idk why i didnt pick julia it was just kinda random for that pick. flipped a coin didnt work out lol
I'm just waiting for him to slip up xD. Imagine if Draw got to the finals and had to face Sziky and lost the 1st place due to voting for himself or better yet thinking that he would lose and voting on Sziky and actually winning it!
Does anybody know how long a season lasts on average?
When this edition of SRT and the current season of TLS 2 come to a close would be an ideal time to start a new season imo and dRaW causing all sorts of drama, Shock710 and Epoxide right on his tail it would has a lot of potential for a climactic end to this season of liquibet.. A lot more than one would expect from the liquibet at least :D

So I had this dream where the final liquibet was like 50 points and someone beat dRaW by like 28 points and there were two people tied for the victory and both of them got trophy icons.

Considering that the last TLS break was about a month long. You should consider finish this season, right after this SRT is finished. I don't think you'll be getting another clear cut for another season without SRT/SSL or TLS being mid-season.

aaaaa I really hope Shock screws up~~~~~~
The longer it goes on the higher the chance that even more people will overtake you.
Does 2nd and 3rd place also get a trophy (Silver and Bronze) and the winner gold because I've only seen users with silver trophies thus far.

Well that's a little conservative considering that there are hundreds of liquibetters. 2nd and 3rd place should get something to imo.

No I just preffer matrix schemes to the lottery.
Well that doesn't make nearly as much sense as I thought it would w/e
With all this commotion I have extended the LB1 25th season 3 more years. And also I decided there may not be a winner at all. I am however accepting bribes at my PayPal account.
T_T scared...went with sea, ssak (i guess that means tvt finals if im right) which also sucks...cause than im even more conflicted on who to vote on. T_T oh god, top 5 is so damn close, and the finals are 8 points any one can win T_T just gonna hope liquid`<3 sea will get me through (but isnt ssak's TvT pretty damn good..;_;)
But even so, what's the reason for having it so long? It's gotten kind of stale with the same three people at the top since forever. I for one would much prefer shorter seasons maybe 3-6 months depending on the number of games.

Stop making polls please for when to close LB season 25. LB is traditionally over a long period of time and the decision for the length of LB has already been decided internally by staff. . I'm sorry some of you may have lost the fun but there is still plenty if high pooint bets left to change the tides.
Just went to standard picks, i dont think these ones are too hard to predict, F and E i think are the weird ones, especially with super cheesy Hi in it, hes the cheesy one right? or was it hint lol i remember it being something "hi" XD

I don't really agree. I think group B and G are the tricky ones.

i kinda agree with you, in the sense we dont really know half the players in those groups B and G(ofc we know best, but u know not how in shape is he), but in E F we've seen them knock out some good players with random cheese, its so dangerous in there sea ;_; get out!!! + Show Spoiler +

Actually you're wrong. Traditionally it has remain valid if only one player changed because otherwise we'd be a lot less bets in since SRTs are always changing players in the group stages. So it would be more hypocritical to do it the right way lol. And in fact I've been screwed over in all but one of those bets where a player has changed. LB has no mercy, not even for its maker.

well it still seems the better thing to do to me, to just zero bets out that changed. We have less points then? I'm sorry to come here to whine again, but the groups were switched in SRT and still gave points??? that's not cool, I had only voted on the one that was supposed to be played. The dates on liquibet were NOT correct, even 15 minutes before the games started. I always wait until last minute to vote, to account for possible changes in the groups.
I know I'm probably in a minority here, but is it possible to cancel the points for group C? For the record, I was planning to vote Movie/Brave.

Pretty much lessoned learned the hard way. The votes were available for a while, so next time don't delay. We can't afford to 0 every bet Sonic changes. SEASON 25 is cutthroat and shows no mercy. + Show Spoiler +

Okay, yeah I'll keep it in mind. Fortunately, it was only a single point lost this time, though I have three guys breathing in my neck one point behind now.. Well at least my 17 vote streak is still alive, I hope I can make it beyond my current best at 20.
Anyway thanks for running this, despite my complaints I do think you're doing a good job and I imagine it can't be easy with all the randomness that is Sonic tournament organization.
Is the current voting streak thing wrong? i mean i just lost the movie brave bet, but it still says i have a current 18 correct streak, which doesnt make sense because i also have the the Aug 22 Sky mong vote wrong as well (betted with sky and beast)

Group votes are counted two times. One for each player that advances. The vote is considered correct if you only get 1/2 points.

so torn on killer vs sea, and hero vs mong -_- also hard heros so good in zvp, but this is zvt. Mong seemed to kinda disappear before this srt and most his wins are in tvt and tvp :/ hows hes tvz looking T_T so hard to call, but probably gonna go with hero on this one, that game vs movie in his fpv was so good
