I think it just takes over certain games that are named a certain way. i e if you host Diplo infinity your game disappears and becomes FruX > youuuuu
It happened multiple times in a row between multiple people, I then hosted "this is diplo" and it worked fine.
This has been happening for over a year now though..and as far as I know r1ch emailed blizzard a fix and they didnt do anything about it

For you simple people ive comprised this to explain how to play ums while this frux shit happening with great results.
To Play user map setting, make game name as desired but change gametype to Top vs bottom. Once your lobby is full rm same game name with password as "1" he reason is frux is just effecting the ums lobby list. Fuck a lobby list just need a name to bring them together. For example for the noobs who read this and go whaa how huh. Ex: you wish to host lobby for sunken d. You would make the game name "Sunken D!!!" select the map but change setting in game creator to Top vs Bottom.
Now your game name is able to be joined. When your lobby is full remake the same game name as before "Sunken D!!" just add a pasword you notify to use in lobby before remake. TaDa You can play with others again. Frux YOU!

As someone who played a lot of UMS and not so much melee (but I did watch starleague!) during 2008-2011 this is really sad. I remember it happening back then but the only for maybe a few hours, the worst one I can remember was for 2 days.

That's not the hack people are talking about. Crash games are just a simply buffer overflow; it would be easy for Blizzard to fix. This game list problem is totally different; any UMS games hosted while the hacker is running his script will not be joinable for long (just a very short time); then it will disappear from the list. You can still play provate games, of course. I guess when you went on to test it, the hacker wasn't running his script anymore.

Well, if that's true, that's fucked. Seems like a good idea to play on ICCup then. Is there some reason people are averse to that? I definitely haven't seen any of these sorts of problems on ICCup.

Hey again, thank you for this trick. I actually created this thread shortly after running into you on east. I tried oblivion as you suggested, but most recently updated Oblivion chaos launcher still didn't fix it for me. I'll try this method out whenever the server is experiencing a meltdown

ive been able to join and play some public UMS games on battlenet. Not sure what the host did to make it playable tho.

The only problem being it doesn't appear in the UMS list of games.
Like I said, it seems only to effect certain names. I hosted a game called "this is diplo" 4 times in a row just fine. Whereas before had tried "Diplo Infi" 4 times in a row to no avail. If you whois the host while they get hacked, it says they are in the game FruX > You 8567u4987. So someone it is changing your game names.

Can't connect to battle.net at all anymore. Hoping that its maintenance and not hackers.

The BW Bnet servers probably haven't seen an update in ages, which is why a single user can shut down everyone. Blizzard is doing something about this, right?

Well...I have a friend who works for the CIA named SiCk.Orifice in US@East...If you talk to him, he will proud to provide you with a IP block code so you can host public games without getting hacked by Illuminatus. However, the problem is Illuminatus is continually changing his IPs so that you have to continually modify your IP block settings.
a message to Illuminatus: You have to accept the fact that there are still around a million people playing starcraft:broodwar. Starcraft: Brood War is still alive in our hearts and we want it back. We will go through extreme measures to restore battlenet. in BW and i will assure you that you will get hacked eventually
