Well, BW is about to get a huge amount of exposure to foreign viewers, I know I'll be watching it for the first time with any seriousness, and yes I'm interested to see how it goes, and to learn a bit more about these players as they start playing SC2 as well.

How do we watch it though? it's going to be on youtube right but with no english commentary?

That seems like a pretty big failing at the start, they really need to strike while the iron is hot and they have time to sort this out surely? (if OGN LoL is anything to go by).

Who knows, maybe this is a second start for BW in the foreign community.

All RTS is not alike, and SC2 is a different animal. You're not gonna see any SC1 pros suddenly curb stomp current SC2 pros. That said, I'm looking forward to Anaheim very much ^.^

err, yeah I think you will. flash got to masters or grandmasters without even knowing what the units actually did. give them a couple days/weeks and it'll be a roflstomp imo.

Can we somehow reduce the shitstorm from sc2-only fans that will be like: "and this is the players that supposed to destroy everybody? But they don't even play at the level of <your favorite sc2 pro>." ?

I'm excited to see how it turns out. Only thing that worries me is that the article suggests they'll be using ladder versions of SC2 maps. This is really really bad. The map pool they've got isn't too awful, but Antiga, Entombed really need to be X-spawns otherwise its not great. Also, Daybreak should be in as a 5th or instead of Entombed. Probably the best Sc2 map at the moment in terms of good games and balance.

Cool to hear how much Flash is enjoying SC2, also how honest he is about catching up to the current GOM crowd.

lots of people have different takes on what's happening (understandably)
we're planning to watch this thing live in june
and no matter how good/shitty it turns out... i know we'll be screaming like crazy when the players come to their booth!

In Bisu defense - so do anybody, he just kinda doing it too often.
The thing is - while bw pros will be forced to train in both games, they hardly will have chance to do really well in new game, so majority of fans could be just disappointed and leave.

All cool, all cool, but what about the maps? Very small map pool for SC2, I like it, but why Entombed ? Did Blizzard give them some kind of GM stats or something to chose it over Daybreak? If I remember correctly Daybreak is crazy balanced, am I wrong?

I'm sorry to impact your porcelain belief that your childhood hero will come and cleanse the heathens of StarCraft II, but you're wrong. He's said it himself. Also, he didn't get to masters without knowing what the units did, it's blindingly obvious what a marine is or what a siege tank is. All it takes to get to masters is proper mechanics anyway. GM league is HARD, and I don't think you realize what a jump it is to go from masters to the GSL, even korean masters.

The elephant in the room is an inflatable one. Soon the BW pros will put a needle to it, and transition succesfully - but not crushingly - into SC2.

unfortunately the quality of games will deteriorate, and it saddens me that people's exposure to bw is going to be seeing the worst brood war in my time watching (at least a lot of the odt was poor; been watching since 2008).

good games will still pop up, and maybe I'm a bit skeptical, but the odt really ruined my optimism.
