I just realized that there ae not only the G5 and G7 whichs shapes are not too good for broodwar but also an G1 with the shape based upon the mx300 and optical sensor of the mx510.
in the vod of boxer vs pusan i saw boxer playing with the G1
anyone has this mouse already? what do u think about it? i am thinking about changing my ktec ktm-6500 to an logitech G1 as the ktec drivers are the greatest crap ive ever seen (newer versions dont even work in english) while the logitec drivers are really good.
I have the logitech G1 and its the best mouse i have ever used. The shape is great, its light. I love it.

Well I have G5, and imo it's pretty good for BW.

oh.. G1? Give photo please. Here or mail areskz@gmail.com
when is this coming to us?
Seems like Logitech hasn't released this in tons of countries, really annoying ;o was released in china like two months ago.
@ areskz: what about the pics i postet? lol ^^
@ BrutalMenace: i have found it in a lot of german online shops (30€ - 45€) so i think it should be available in the US too (if not try ebay, there are tons of it ^^)
just ordered one :D
.. any tips for a good gaming keyboard ? ~ except the SEM-DT35, dunno how to get that one 8[
So that's why I'm not pro, my mouse isn't shaped correctly for BW!
But seriously I have the G5 and I'm kind of eh, I upgraded from a mx500. It certainly tracks smoother, the dpi is noticeable, but it's also missing a few buttons and some of the functions, albeit useless ones like the sensitivity changing buttons don't work
Good time to replace my mx300 with G1.
i have this mouse
changeable definition of 400/800/1200/1600 dpi (it changes colors when u change the definition, woohoo), acceleration up to 15g, teflon pads, 6500fps, the buttons have a special anti-slip-surface which you don't need because of their form, some more fancy stuff. seriously, there are so many "gaming mouses" out now that you can just go to the store and be sure you will find a good one. i love it. =)
the Razer Copperhead is the best RTS mouse, combine that with the eXact mat and YOU HAVE THE ULTIMATE in gaming warefare.

ah and thats the reason why none of the korean progamers uses the razer ? - lol technicaly the razer is the best ive ever seen - but its shape isnt the best for broodwar by far.
!!!This is NOT an "which/my mouse is the best" thread!!! So please post only to the topic!
@chicken: they also released an G15 gaming board - but i think each standard keyboard with the right size of the buttons and a good klick feeling is pretty good for gaming.
yeah i dont like the shape of the copperhead :/ cant imagine comfortable playing with that
hmm anyone knows wether there are english G1 drivers for non asian windows versions? or does each logitech mouse need the same logitech mouseware? dont wanna buy this one only for having the same problems as with my ktec ^^

ARRhhgg! why does this uber mouse has to look like a Vigina! T_T Totoally unfair... That turns me off so bad ~_~

Yes, it does look pretty vaginal to me

the mousped is more important the the mouse itself,if you dont use a good mousepad, expensive mouse like razer,mx518 G1 are useless

I dont really know much about mices etc, but what exactly do the drivers? do they make the mouse work at it's fullest potential DPI wise? or is it just a program which makes it easier to configurate?

only the spelling is similiar and "slida" is not slang. that's the place where you put in your penis!

enough off topic spam i think... @zpux: to get the maximum performance of your mouse you need also good drivers...
seems like a regular HK site. I saw these dotted around HK when i went but i didnt buy one (which i sort of regret) but since i cant play many games its not so bad.
A friend of mine bought 2 in singapore and sold them on ebay, one got triple its original price.
=]
Its available in lots of onlineshops by now (in germany in nearly each good one) - should not be any problem to get one. i already saw one in a shop in my city.
so i got mine today, there really are no drivers :| but it works fine without drivers for me .. maybe theyll release some in the near future
Guys could u direct me to a German online shop or normal shop in Munich where I could get one? I'll be there for the next 2 weeks and would like to buy one. Thx
http://www.mindfactory.de/
dont wanna explain how to order right now =|
but if youre in munich soon itll surely be better to just go to some shop and buy it there :O but im not from munich so i have no idea !

for anyone else: www.alternate.de - i think they send at least to the whole EU
i am going to get one on monday

Well I had some Logitech basic mouse and right click died there G5 has different kind of buttons here tho.

using a mouse without thumb buttons for back/forward is out of the question for me

I think hes talking about how the plastic inside that pushes the button on the microchip wears out. The click gets 'mooshy' or worn out and you have to click harder to push the button. Thats not just with logitech mice its with all mice. Its because the mouse is made of regular plastic and the button on the microchip is made of some harder plastic or hard rubber type shit so it indents.
PS- I just got my 10 dollar rebate check for my mx310 and it was ripped in half. wtf?

i have RaZeR Diamonback its ownage its sooo smooth VERY GOOD gaming mouse!

lol its really funny - anytime u start an thread about a specific mouse topic there are coming all the people to tell you how great their own mouse is...

If it had survived like 5 mroe weeks i could have gotten G1 ; [

when does the G1 come out in the US? my mx300 is on its last legs ive had it for ages =]

this question was answered about 3 times in this thread. IT IS ALREADY - just search in online shops or ebay.
Anyone use the Logitech Dual Optical (or Optical Wheelmouse)? its the same shape and a tonne cheaper than the G1 for me since I have to ship it in, is it worth getting the dual optical?
On November 15 2005 05:20 pHobiA wrote: this question was answered about 3 times in this thread. IT IS ALREADY - just search in online shops or ebay.
Ive seached ebay AND united states based online stores. It is NOT availtable. My only option would be to spend a lot of money and buy it from europe which im not going to do. My question was when is it going to be released in the US
phobia maybe ur using ebay.co.uk? cuz its not on ebay dot com and i couldn't find any US retailer with it either.
shipping from a civilized country to the us can't be _that_ expensive. ;p prolly like 20$.

im using the mx310 and its ok
better than a crappy HP wheel mouse cost me around 100 bucks with a logitech elite keyboard (which i am regretting to get)

Thx m8, got mine now. It's a really good one. Litec seems to have a nice selection of logitech mice.
yep left button on my MX300 died to. :/ so im waiting for G1
Someone enlighten me: what is a good BW mouse? What makes this mouse the ONE? I am battling with a 2 button freebie-Dell mouse (even without a scroll wheel)? Are there any buttons that are supported by BW other than left and right click? Or do you program the buttons like middle button = Alt-key, right side button = Ctrl-key?!?
MX310!! That's what I use...
Question - Keyboards.. what's a good one? I find my keyboard a pain the ass to use.

same problem with me - mouseware for mx510 doesnt work, the standard mouseware doesnt work (on ps2 they work but that sux 4 me), windows drivers dont work... By now there are no special drivers for G1 available but i think Logitech will offer some soon.

What's the main difference between the G1 and G5?
the g5 has a laser sensor, while g1 is optical. Another difference is shape and weight. G5 is a mx500 class mouse and the g1 is a mx300 class mouse.
+ G1 = 80g, G5 with removing all extra weights = 114g

wow are u a fucking retard? its not on ebay, waht did u type in homo?

I'm in Taiwan, and I saw the G1 mouse in a store, and i bought it - it was 1000 NT, which translates to 33$ US, which I think is a pretty good price, although the G1 is the low model of the G-series of Logitech mice.
I will plug it in now and let you guys know a review maybe sometime soon in the future!
It looks identical to the mx300, except for the color and coating of the mouse, but it seems the "feet" of the mouse is slightly different (different material or something).
YO. Is there a mouse driver for this mouse? Without the logitech driver (where I can increase the speed beyond the windows capabilities GREATLY), this mouse is a piece of shit for me. Right now it feels ok, but seeing how I have to move the mouse 3 inches just to get it to move 3 inches on the screen, I need to find a driver for this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I sended mail to logitechs support , and it went like this :
> Description of Problem: Where im supposed to get new mouseware for > g1 since old mousewares dont recognize my mouse which leads to very > sucky windows mouse control interface which has negative > acceleration and sucky sens's : ( plz tell
Reply : HI G1 mouse is designed as a powerful but yet simplicity in mind. User will now enjoy a lightweight and durable 5.8 megapixel (powerful) mouse but without the hassle of installing driver (simple). Speed (but not acceleration) can still be adjusted with the mouse properties in control panel. User can consider MX510, MX518, G5 and G7 which provide different levels of customization if that is a requirement.
So, i got rid of that negative acceleration with some registry fixes... But yet i cant find that
"my sensitivity" which i had with mx510 + mouseware : (
This is fucking unbelievable, no mouseware compatibility for their mouse?
Wow, the G1 hasn't come out in the US yet but I was planning on getting it when it did. Sucks, that it doesn't have a driver.
i dont mind that theres no driver. ive used an mx300 for years and never installed a driver i just use the windows properties.
Normal logitech mouseware drivers don't work? I never noticed that their drivers were mouse-specific.
Just looked it up on Logitech site, seems you guys are right. However, since the G1 uses (I think) the MX510 sensor, you could try the MX510 drivers, or the drivers for whatever mouse the G1 uses the sensor from.

To me as long as the mouse has good weight and shape (mx300/g1) the drivers dont matter because who in reality notices if its 20000000dpi or 500000dpi. I sure dont. I used to play sc on a ball mouse.
On November 22 2005 21:23 cava wrote: To me as long as the mouse has good weight and shape (mx300/g1) the drivers dont matter because who in reality notices if its 20000000dpi or 500000dpi. I sure dont. I used to play sc on a ball mouse.
For me at least it has nothing to do with DPI, it has to do with the fact that the Windows max mouse setting is WAY too slow for me. I play on Mouseware max acceleration, max speed, therefore using the Windows drivers is like a snail for me. Without Mouseware support, I may look to returning this mouse soon, or if I can't, maybe will just give it to a family member as a gift.
I am sorely disappointed, but hopefully when they release the mouse in the United States they realize that if they want to have the "G-Gaming series" mice, they better have some pretty fucking unique drivers for them.

Yup, that thing is sexy period.
ok I got it -- just DO NOT install any mouse drivers and the mouse will be alright.. if you isntalled logitech drivers you wont be able to change windows sensitivity
Its one of the feature of the mouse.. it has no driver whatsoever and its just really "plug and play"
On November 11 2005 12:09 doLife wrote: i hope they will release the drivers for g1 soon
they dont releasy drivers to that mouse. they said in a email to me that they have made the mouse so, it doesnt need any mouseware. i think they just wanted to keep the mouse simple and more gamable =))
so it has all u need in the mouse allready, just adjust the speed in controlpanel. btw. i love my mouse, its sexy and good to play with.
I bought the mouse some days ago an its great!!!!!
i cant change the speed with standard win drivers - same with mouseware :/
I dunno I uninstalled every mouse drivers I had (razers/mouseware) and I can change sensitivity!
Yeah, Windows has it's own "driver" built in, allowing you to use a mouse without extra drivers. However, the Logitech drivers let you set the speed much higher than the Windows driver allows, which is exalted's beef with the mouse.
G1 > G5 right? Will it suit every1? I've got big hands keke! Also another thing, which mouse pad would you recommend for a G1 mouse?
func 1030!
And some1 mentioned something about mx510 drivers for g1 , wont work tried = (.
G1 = mx300 with better sensor. G5 = MX500/510 with laser sensor. If you have big hands you might prefer the G5, I have big hands and the MX300/G1 design is too small. Try 'em out if you can. You should be able to find an MX500/510/518 at a local store, they all have the same shape as G5. G1 might be harder to find to test.
I have a Steelpad QcK+ mousepad for my MX510 and it's very nice. Extremely large, but quite nice. Almost any quality cloth surface will be good though.
I just bought a logitech g1 aswell, sorta pissed there's no drivers, since I swear to god there's dumb acceleration in the windows drivers and I have absolutely NO idea how to turn it the fuck off. Does anyone know how to? I should've just kept my mx300 TT
