KT, Lee Young Ho - “I will become the All-Wins King!”
KT Rolster’s ‘Ultimate Weapon’ Lee Young Ho, Flash, his goal for this season was not just the most wins. This league whenever he came out he has won every game showing a perfect 100% win rate, showing his interest of becoming the ‘All-Wins King’. From his game against Team 8 on the 10th, he met his old rival Jaedong but on his 7th game, earned his 7th victory.
Q. Your feelings on meeting Jaedong. A. I am happy but also disappointed as well. I was expecting good match meeting Jaedong and prepared a late game but the game was too short. But our team won so I feel great.
Q. How did you feel when they announced you were matched up against Jaedong. A. Before the game I was only imagining it. I thought it would be the same if I met anyone else, but when I met him I felt my heart beat faster. As expected a match with Jaedong makes me excited. Q. You won on the same timing as in your match with Uh Yoon Soo (n.Die_soO). Is it the same strategy. A. No it is a completely different one. The way the game would have went and the build order is different. Of course the situation may have made it look similar. Zerg players maybe have seen my games seeing me go 5 barracks and using that to cut off the 3rd Zerg expo so often, they seem to not make sunken colonies. In both games I went in the timing where they made their sunkens and the game ended. Honestly for Zerg to block against 5 Barracks they need a lot of drones, but my offbeat timing may have psyched the players out.
Q. This season you are all wins. The fans are curious on who might give you your first loss of the season. A. Many of players are showing great performances. It is not weird for me to lose a game, but to prevent that loss I am doing my best. Q. Your next game is against Woongjin Stars. A team with Strong Zergs. A. Woongjin Zergs are really strong. Recently I wanted to strengthen my TvZ, through my games with Soo and Jaedong I have regained my game sense. I want to meet Zerg again and I want to play a fun game.
Q. The Ace match has been removed. How is this affecting you? A. Now that I prepare for only one game, it became much more comfortable. Honestly, when there was ace matches there were many situations where I prepared for two games. The strain is immense. But now there is no chance for a repeating entry, it is good for me. It gave me some leeway time for rehabilitation for my arm surgery and I can prepare for all three match ups on the map that is given to me. Q. How is your arm? A. I talk with the head coach every few months and every time he says “All the situations are working towards us”. When my arm was hurting and could not digest the load for more games, the individual league did not open and gave me time to rest, and even after my surgery. I still feel pain every now and then, but now that the ace match is gone it reduced my burden. Now I’m on a great streak. Thinking everything is going my way, I can be more positive and prepare with even more effort. Q. Kim Dae Yeob (Stats) and you are being called ‘Double Weapon’ now. What do you think? A. If there was no Stats, our entire team would have suffered. Now our coaching staffs looks at him and judge him as a definite one win card. I may be the ultimate weapon, but Stats doesn’t have his own ‘_____ weapon’ name yet. If you all give him a cool nick, I think we can be the real double weapon.
[Chinless weapon, Plastic Surgery weapon, ok out of ideas] Q. A word to your fans. A. Thank you for cheering for us always. In this season rather than the most wins, I am now aiming for the title of all wins. Although I’m still a person, I may get 1, 2, or 3 losses eventually, but my goal is 100% wins. This season the amount of matches is reduced and without double entries, if I prepare meticulously I think it is possible. I have told during fan meetings that I would aim for all wins, and 100% win rate but it is a first for a public interview. I hope I can make it come true. Q. Anything you would like to say. A. Until the Lunar New Year break, I want my to win all my games and hope our team wins all the matches. I will try my best for us to reach 1st place again.

100% is ezpz for someone like Flash hahaha. I actually believed that this format benefited KT quite a bit (for the long run, of course) since Flash would be relieved and other players would step up.
Reading this made me super excited for the match tonight. Flash is a total baller. He's the only player that can sound modest while saying his goal is to lose 0 games this season.
I fully expect Flash to set some sort of record for winning % this season. The combination of no ace matches and opposing teams' decision to sacrifice a scrub to Flash rather than trying to snipe him means there will be fewer games against elite opposition. No winner's league means fewer wins but also fewer losses since Flash can't be sniped with vT specialists or anti-terran maps. No more MSL and the current lack of OSL means no more preparing for a million things at once and Flash can dedicate all his time towards proleague. Also with Stats having stepped up his game and KT doing pretty well overall there's no added mental burden on Flash to carry the team all by himself like he used to have to do. 100% is pretty unlikely, but if anyone can do it it's Flash. Bisu hit 80% last season so expect Flash to go for 85%.
Lol wow! Aiming for 100% winrate, no less. Thanks for translating The lack of ace matches may be detrimental to his team's results but not to his personal winrate I'm glad that the strain on his arm is reduced.
He's gonna lose sooner or later, but I wouldn't be surprised if he set some sort of record. As he said, with the new format he only has to prepare one map for each match, and since there's no ace match, the vast majority of the time he's gonna be facing random non S-class players. And when you put Flash out on a map he's practiced against anyone who's not TBLS, the chances of winning are pretty high.

I'm curious; have the korean netizens come up with some -weapon nickname for stats already? It'll be cool. Then KT would just need wooki to break out and he can be called project P7GAB, the secret weapon.

hahaha so true!
I'm so glad he's recovering well from his surgery it would be a shame not to be able to watch his games anymore..
You never know what to expect when it comes to the range of strategies he's able to employ.
Flash focusing on one map I wonder if even other members of TBLS have a chance..

This is exactly what I said during the live report thread, and people disagreed vehemently 1. it was a completely different build (1 rack vs 2 racks) 2. it was a psychological thing, not a "Jaedong is making chobo mistakes" thing
The player who beats Flash shall be named The God-Slaying Sword, and the day God falls, this music shall be played on stage, with the God-Slayer epicly emerging from the booth:

Or that all kill block by M18M. Flash destroyed Jangbi, Stork (don't remember the third one) and all kill seemed inevitable.

most people on TL have no idea how zvt actually works or the early game commitment needed to stop 5 rax... "T imba" is all they know
JD basically thought flash was trying to psych him into wasting drones on sunks and jaedong didn't want to give in resulting in his demise
