Hwaseung OZ & Personal Stories/Quotes by HiyA! (Translations by Clefairyjones, Nalho & supernovamaniac) + Show Spoiler +
Our team was sort of like a military atmosphere, we didn't know the names of our trainees. We only knew the A-teamers and B-teamers.
A long time ago there was a player on our team who fell down the stairs and got injured and we were really worried about him and called 119.Then the ambulance came and recognized our team and asked for signatures instead of helping him.
I was relieved that Jaedong was on our team. He's damn good. It's probably the same with Bisu, and Flash. There's nothing to say about Jaedong except He's not funny.
Ruby is good looking and tall.I'do be gay for RuBy.Everytime i thinks of ruby,i thinks of how the world is unfair.
Jaedong's hands are fucking fast, zergs in general are super fast.
TossGirl is the same in real life as on the screen.TossGirl is pretty but she's short.
We lived in Sorae village while in Hwaseung.A lot of celebrities live there. We once went drinking and met Kim Jae Dong (A Korean comedian). He recognized us and paid for our drinks.
You're not allowed to copy Flash,It only works because he's Flash.
The starcraft scene isn't dying, they'll probably just move over to SC2.
"Our team used to have a trainee and he seemed like he was working really hard. But something funny was he woke up earlier than the rest of the team at SC2. We expected him to be practicing after waking up that early, but he just takes a shower.
On Hwaseung we used to get no vacations.Samsung KHAN gets at least one break a week. They have so many rest days that they would end up practicing on break days.
I wanted to go to Samsung KHAN.
When forGG gets angry he used to go to the toilet.(LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL)
The thing that sucks about living in a dorm is that you can't masturbate. It's really uncomfortable.(ROFLROFLROFLROFL)
I don't know how others deal with it, but they'll probably masturbate somehow.(HAHAHAHA)
I know about the prices at Kangnam massage parlors, but I heard if you go once, you get too accustomed to it.Ah but lets not talk about this stuff. It's dirty to be honest.Bee likes this sort of stuff though, tune into his stream later today. He'll introduce you to the world of gays.I'm talking honestly here, but I think Bee likes guys.I think Bee doesn't care whether it's male or female. As long as it has a hole.
Jaedong,I've lived with him for 5 years, but I know nothing about him. We're unacquainted, don't ask me anything about him.
I don't know Fantasy,i think he's just really nice.
My personality is really good,i never swear.Im a saint. But he swears in every sentence. But when you live with guys especially for 6 years, swearing becomes routine.
Yeah I'll probably play SC2.Since the Starcraft scene will probably shift soon
So I'm preparing early.I've never met a progamer with a bad personality.Sky is probably my closest friend.
Jaedong is a fan of Lee Yeon Hee. There was that online game a few years back where you date her, and Jaedong was playing it and giggling to himself. That was really cute I thought.
Don't talk about Park Sang Hyun (a guy from myStarleague). That guy is trash. If you're going to do something bad you should try not to get caught. He did something that would obviously get caught. I'll tell you guys later. [Someone in chat says "He sold pro replays didn't he"] Wow you know already. I didn't know that rumor got out to the public.
Bucheon has a lot of pretty girls, but there are bad rumours about that area.
I was looking for a one room apartment in Bucheon but it's fucking expensive.
When I look at trainees I think it would be really sad. They're not even treated like people.
I heard Flash gets 300 million won salary, that's probably the highest
Coaches don't like us playing against amateurs, ecause we gain nothing from it.
PerfectMan's personality is a bit odd,fOrGG's personality isn't good. He's weird.Everyone on our team besides me has fucked up personalities.I'm the only good person on our team, thats it.
Why are you asking about my first time. What will you do with that information? How would I have sex in the dorm? That doesn't make sense.Bee likes holes.(HAHAHAHAHA)
The quality of the questions has dropped severely,Why are you asking about when I had sex.(People asking about how TossGirl is in bed(LOL)
Our team doesn't let us get close to fans, you get cut straight away.
I don't care whether Jaedong has a big cock or not. I don't care about guy's cocks.(LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL)
Fantasy and Seo Yeon Ji are dating.I've never seen it but I heard it's true.I don't even know,I just heard it from you guys so it must be true.(STAR GIRL? FanTaSy what a baller)
I haven't saved much money.
How would I know whether Yellow was a massage parlor addict. I'm not his manager.
TvT is fucking boring when it's played between progamers,But if you play with amateurs it's pretty fun.Between pros it always ends up in a split map situation
Yesterday with the 8th KeSPA team.I met with Jaedong, Killer, and the ex-Hwaseung guys. They said they weren't allowed to stream. But they could play against me on my stream and I could broadcast it.But I probably wouldn't want to stream myself getting owned by them.
"I heard Woongjin and SK are the hardest teams,Hwaseung was hard a long time ago, but not recently."It feels like Woongjin is always playing.
I might end up living with Bee,im not joking, but you have to be careful around Bee.
Ah these guys are overestimating Magikarp's brain.I can't understand these things in one go.
I once saw Park Sang Hyung talking to his friend on a chatting program, and he had sent a message to his friend saying "Fuck Bisu is so good".,and he said Magikarp hyung has gone to Hong Kong.
The funny thing about PerfectMan is that he has no boundaries. It's funny if he could stay within the boundaries, but he always manages to go over it.So we have to manage him.
I don't know when I'll be rooming with Bee.It might be in about a month. Now that I think about it .I'll be spending Christmas night with Bee.
I'm aligning my teeth for corrective jaw surgery.I actually got braces in preparation for it.There are three progamers who have had corrective jaw surgery.Corrective Jaw surgery is 18,000 dollars. There are different kinds of corrective jaw surgery. Some of them for protruding chins and other kinds.I want to fix my mouth opening,my mouth is always open so I'm a mouth breather.
Jaedong looks the same on screen as in real life.Killer is 167cm,Backho once went on a TV show with me,he was 165.7cm back then and the show was about a doctor who said doing something could make you grow 2~3cm.So Backho tried really hard with the exercises, and they measured him.he was 165.7cm,so they edited it out.
Anyone who wants to see that picture should do it in their own time.I couldn't bring myself to click it.Oh looking good(Jaedong Picture),he's so good looking.
After you're 22 years old you go to Seoul Cyber University. We don't actually go to school we study online. The reason we go there is because we need to delay our military enlistments, also i went to Seoul cyber university.
I'll probably play SC2.I'll stream for about a month then deal with a few things, then play SC2 morning day night
When I lived in the dorm we weren't allowed to play off-race.Personally I think it's alright to tell you guys this sort of stuff on stream.
To be honest any people who want to be progamers should just give up now.If you practice Starcraft 1 you're just wasting your time. You should start Starcraft 2.Since Starcraft 1 isn't patched anymore it's the same. But Starcraft 2 isn't complete yet.But Starcraft 2 isn't complete yet.
Jaedong wasn't afraid of anyone. The hardest Protosses for him were Bisu and Jangbi. The team that's good for practicing differs for everyone.RuBy is unemployed like me,so i can contact with him whenever.
I got a mouse.I got it from a second hand online store. The person selling the mouse knew me,so he gave me another one.
I don't masturbate.
When would I get the time to watch porn. How would I masturbate in the dorm
I told you guys yesterday but I know of massage parlors, but I didn't go because it was too expensive.
Hwaseung was the best team at soccer.Jaedong is alright at soccer but he's not good.Alone and Killer are really good,im not sure how good anytime is.
I heard Jaedong and Flash are friends.Out of the other teams I'm friends with all the 1989 players.Im not friend with Bisu."Bisu is born in 1989 too but I'm not friends with him.
I don't care about my salary, but I wouldn't reveal someone else's salary.I earned 18000 a year at first, hen I got 100k for 2 year.If I total the money I've earned so far it would be just short of 200k.I did a bit well for a progamer.
I once got an iPad for a group nomination. But I sold it lol.Because I had no use for it.
The amount you get from individual leagues differs depending on the team.Hwaseung didn't take any money.
Jaedong isnt cheap. He earns a lot so he spends a lot to.
I'm going to the military at the end of next year at the earliest. If I go late I'll probably go really late.
If I scream like 1a2a3a[fOu] I'll get kicked out.I'm going to keep streaming.I'm looking around to move out of here.
Bee earned the same amount I learn in one month in two years of progaming.Bee lives a hard life.
As long as they're not Jaedong level,i'm pretty confident against Zerg players.Jaedong's macro, control and decision making is different to others.
Bee loses against my Protoss.Do I need to turn on that replay again?Out of the 11 within our team, Bee was maybe around 10th?
I don't know NesTea very well.
I want to go to Ace, but I told you I'm getting corrective jaw surgery.I'll have a brace around my jaw.Yes I'm getting corrective jaw surgery.I don't really play games around this time.
There's not many people to play against and it's no fun at this time." told you guys, I'm going to live with Bee but we haven't found a place.
Flash and Bisu is the hardest out of Taekbangleessang.
Who did you respect the most as a progamer?hmm.Boxer because I wanted to become a progamer thanks to him.Nada is really good of course, but I think iloveoov had a lot more imposing presence during his time.
Who differs the most from practice games and official matches?hmm. I don't really know, but maybe Stork? He's actually really good.
Who do you feel is insurmountable?hmm. This is definitely Flash.
The match fixers are trash, but i don't really want to say anything bad to those people now that time has passed. They were trash back then, but they've reflected on their actions now.So it doesn't really matter anymore.I knew of the match fixing around half a year before it got out to the public.I actually got an offer to fix a match,if I lose I'd get $5000 the next day."But that guy wasn't involved in the Starcraft scene it was just a normal person. That was during our rest period.I learned of the match fixing through my friend. It was the first time my friend heard of it to,someone approached CJ.But that person told the coach and they went to the police.I'm not sure whether that rumour is true,The gamers that didn't get caught match fixing.I know of two,the two that I know of both retired. Our team kids were good.It wasn't fOrGG,he was good. But the two that I know of, I'm not really sure, whether it's true. But the rumours say they were involved,if this gets public shit will hit the fan.I remember Justin got caught but he escaped a jail term.Money really lets you get away with anything,Justin was actually the head of the match fixing. But his family is rich apparently.I don't really know the details though to be honest. You don't really know who was really involved in the match fixing.Only the culprits themselves would know.Out of the people who were involved in the match fixing scandal.I wasn't friends with any of them.I don't talk with any match fixers.savior was trash when he was a progamer. He is reflected on his actions now so I think it doesn't really matter what he does now. It's not like him streaming affects progamers.
Everyone, Bee only went out to proleague once, don't be mean to him.
Great looks the same as he does in this game, he is good looking.
Coach Han was a kickbox champion. If you get hit,you die.
No Coach Han and iloveoov didn't fight at all.iloveoov had a rumour during his amateur days that he was really bad manner. So they just had a slight altercation. Not really an altercation just a provocation.
You should be careful you could be added to my death note.(Death note is the title of his blacklist notepad file, people he bans from chat)
We went to a workshop. When we go to a workshop we drink a LOT of alcohol. But that day we drank a bit.We had a rivalry going between two zergs out of our trainees. One of them was drunk, the two were really friends, but the drunk one started swearing at them.
Sacsri, Bee,Wooki and I were talking. There was a bit of a gay joke, but Bee then said how much do I pay for one night to Sacsri.
I saw Hyunyoung and Ahn Sun Young at Jo Jung Woong coach's wedding,Hyunyoung was really pretty.I told you guys out of the celebrities I've seen,Goo Hye Sun was the prettiest.I saw Goo Hye Sun from up close.I didn't get to see Hyunyoung up close.I only saw her while we were taking photos with the couple
I don't know about Starcraft 1's future, but peoples have said that Starcraft 1 would die for the entire 10 years. So I don't really know.
When savior was at his peak,i was doing the dishes,So I don't know him.
As I play SC2,I think I'll stream as well.I won't stream SC2,only SC1 because im bad at SC2.I'm not joining a SC2 team.So I'm going to practice SC2 and join KeSPA's side.I'm not a pro,i'm a teamless pro.I have no intention of taking it.No that doesn't mean I didn't go in.I just couldn't get a team. But ever since high school until I am 23 now,i've never gotten to play or do what I wanted to do without being able to do anything.
I don't know whether Jaedong has a girlfriend or not, this is not really my business.
SC2's race balance is disabled right now.The thing that isn't balanced is that.SC1 wasn't balanced at the start either,so sc2 is same. This is incomplete, but as time passes this will work out.
Firebathero was like that in ceremonies in real life, but he's actually quiet.
that's the backshot valkyrie shot but you have to click on the nearby area not the actual unit you need to practice that you'll get it down in 5 minutes the reason why you do this is to avoid scourges but on fs there's no time to get out those valks or use them efficiently for that matter that's your decision if valk fails mean bio but its better to go mech after you fail bio there's a different version you can start off bio and go right into late mech or get the center with bio and then move into mech but getting center is better or more standard
sk? is that 2 starport? don't do that
its bad you can win only if you're much better these days you have to go 5 barracks because zergs are used to 4 barracks the difference between broadcastted match and regular practice is that on TV if you go enbay first then 5 barracks mutalisks never come to your base the zerg needs to do something with the bio force zergs try to eat up the force in the middle so that's why terran adapted and don't build too much turrets nowadays they tech fast because terran knows that zerg won't come and in fact, since its televised match
ah 4 fact i didn't think too well i didn't know that the son of bitch would squeeze out units while defending
'bitch'
ongamenet commentator...
i can't do that cause i have braces (teeth T_T) im not going into a team (WHAT?) commentators get a LOT of money they get like 200k?
good commentators get 200k
per year
but its different match by match
i know a commentator, not stating his name
he does 2 proleague per week he gets about $5000 per month
money earned cause you win a match
that's inceptive
it ranges from 100 to 1000 dollars
difference of teams
'how much did you get?' SECRET~~~~~~~~
ace?
you only earn $40 per month
you don't ask ace about money at all
you shouldn't talk about money with ace
ruby?
not sure
need to see him
i should see him tomorrow backho? military
he tried to return to team
after doing well in ace
but he can't return now
going to ace is good?
is it comfortable?
dunno i haven't been there yet
my inceptive was
2000 dollars per 25 wins
$200 per win
but you have to win
and your team has to win
i had 27 wins?
29 wins?
couldn't reach .5 ratio
after 2nd round
i was 2-12
but i brought it up to 27-29
back then
jangbi and i basically gave out wins
(aka king of loss)
HiyA said on his Afreeca stream that he thinks he might switch to Starcraft 2 soon. Key word being "might".
On November 06 2011 02:02 Sawamura wrote: Does these mean hiya won't be coming back as a progamer ?
i think it just means he wont be going back to Oz
Well, Oz doesn't exist anymore. I didn't completely understand how the new team was chosen, but Sea and Baby were basically chosen over Hiya I guess.
The top 2 players of each race in the KeSPA rankings on the disbanded team were selected to be put on the team. Idk how the other players were selected.
An Oz T player going to KT MagicNs after he underperformed for a season? Unconceivable! It's better than not getting signed for HiyA tho, love his crazy plays
Great stream yo, it's not often that I can see a progamer streaming, nevermind one that I like
Hiya should sign with SKT1 :D that would be funny, but hard to imagine. Hope he doesn't sign with KT, KT is strong enough and have good Ts already (including the best T) or with Khan, this would be great.
If Hiya doesn't get a team I'll be shocked. He's not the best by any means, but he's certainly one of the better players formerly on OZ, and he's always a WL beast.
On November 06 2011 05:31 Archers_bane wrote: Is the music playing in the background music hiya is listening to while playing? Or is it from the restream?
Omg watching a BW pro from FPview is just so sick. I like to watch amateur Iccup A- and so on caliber VODs and then just don't compare to how crisp the pros are.
Hiya to KHAN, his playstyle is very similar to Reality's and Hiya's aggression will also help to stabilize the Storm that will take its TurN so that it will not choose strategically the timing to go rampant. I hope that KHAN can solely rely on their Protoss/Terran to march itself into PL final vs Dream Team!
But.....consider the past history of Samsung, he is probably going to end up on a team that actually cares about their result in Brood War.....like the KTs!
BW pros are the best RTS players in the world. Watching that stream is simply amazing. The amount of training he's gone through and his amazing decision making is pushing the limits of what is possible in the game. A+++ stream
I guess KT wanted to get a few more Ts so as to spare flash from getting overly tired out from TvT macrofests and also to preserve his healed wrist condition
Someone should tell him about team liquid and how to set up his stream to pop up on the side bar. He could get a bit of money for his streaming troubles I think.

he'd be making more on afreeca
Pardon my ignorance but he cant link to his stream in the side bar ala everyone else? Is Afreeca like Twitch or LiveStream?

afreeca is a korean stream service that is very tedious for foreigners to use, tedious as in you have to have a really good proxy or be in korea.

he'd be making more on afreeca
plus if he actually signs with a proteam he won't be allowed to stream anyway
On November 06 2011 21:02 PoP wrote: Anyone know who's [Neox]..? Hiya had a couple TvPs with him and he seems really really good, prolly a pro or at least practice partner I guess.
On November 06 2011 23:30 GTR wrote: are there vods of him playing sc2? (don't bash me)
Because bashing a moderator sounds like a good idea.
That was really cute. It's feels like if Sauron comes into the Shire and asks a couple of small hobbit children some question in a dark, scary and intimidating voice, and then somehow feels the need to add ''Don't bash me'' as though there's any chance in hell they could beat him up. XD
On November 06 2011 21:02 PoP wrote: Anyone know who's [Neox]..? Hiya had a couple TvPs with him and he seems really really good, prolly a pro or at least practice partner I guess.
[Neox] is just the clan tag; if the id was [neox] it self it might be the clan master.
It has players like Scan (huh), Savior, Luxury, 1a2a3a etc.

Thanks for the heads-up, gonna tune in right away. He's also talking on stream, some korean stuff ^^

Yeah Neox is the clan tag. The ID's actually "..", guess you thought it was punctuation
Lol he defended that zealot cheese so well, he didn't even need a good simcity, just excellent marine/scv control to win that game, it's so fun to watch a pro gamer play games in fpvod, and you can learn so much from it!
Clefairy is in the stream chat translating what Hiya's saying (<3), and he told a pretty funny story. "A long time ago there was a player on our team who fell down the stairs and got injured and we were really worried about him and called 911. Then the ambulance came and recognized our team and asked for signatures instead of helping him". XD

wasn't that forgg? I remember a news article from like 2008 where he fell down the stairs and hurt his hand and couldnt play in the all-stars match that year.
"Our team was sort of like a military atmosphere, we didn't know the names of our trainees. We only knew the A-teamers and B-teamers."

"When I look at trainees I think it would be really sad. They're not even treated like people."
HiyA was drunk after hanging out with Jaedong and the KeSPA team so he was a little chattier than he probably should be lol. Some of the translations are probably wrong as well because he talks really fast and he's kind of hard to understand. And about Fantasy and Star Girl, I couldn't tell from the tone but I think he was being sarcastic in response to viewer questions.
"I think Bee doesn't care whether it's male or female. As long as it has a hole"
"Jaedong is a fan of Lee Yeon Hee. There was that online game a few years back where you date her, and Jaedong was playing it and giggling to himself. That was really cute I thought"

On November 07 2011 08:41 NationInArms wrote: Fantasy is dating Seo Yeon Ji?
What Hiya really said was that he saw comments on fomos that indicated Fantasy dating Seo Yeon Ji (and I guess people agreeing), so that's what he thinks/believes(?) (and what everyone says). Someone wrote "Hiya is spreading rumors about Fantasy and Seo Yeon Ji" and Hiya responded, "No, fomos is spreading the rumors, not me"
So no, I don't think it was a confirmation of any sort. Fantasy would be baller if he is dating her though

Not the caster, just some guy who was in myStarleague.

Did he play any tvz's at all? I wanna check out the vods of the stuff i missed but it seems like he was just playing vs P the whole time.
I think all I've seen is TvP and TvT, but I haven't been watching all the time. He did show us a replay of him beating JD though. XD He was probably really proud of that one.
Actually, I remember a TvZ where he crushed his opponent, so he played at least one.
The starcraft scene isn't dying, they'll probably just move over to SC2.. Yeah I'll probably play SC2.Since the Starcraft scene will probably shift soon
On November 07 2011 14:22 BLinD-RawR wrote: I want to say that if he stopped streaming then its probably good news.
It could mean that he got into a team.
huh? Did he stop streaming? Where did you hear that? :o
But if he would stop, then i agree. But yesterday he sounded like he doesn't have any team yet, since he talked about his future being a Afreeca BJ and playing SC2. Hope not though.
The starcraft scene isn't dying, they'll probably just move over to SC2.. Yeah I'll probably play SC2.Since the Starcraft scene will probably shift soon
yeah thanks for the translations! really cool stuff because in every interview ever all you get to here is *i hope im doing well, my opponent is very strong, our team works hard to play good*, all this generic stuff. This is just so much more interesting because HiyA doesn't have a PR manager any more :D
I doubt there's a good perspective in BW for him honestly... three teams disbanded and he wasn't so lucky to get picked up by another team :/ I always liked him and got angry when he disappointed us again and again only to wreck a super duper protoss like its the easiest thing in the world from time to time.
So if he switches, he'll have to work hard but i think he will totally wreck anyone in a few months. And there is much money in SC2 and even more i the future i think.
Also HiyA: Your stream made my heart ache because i couldn't watch much BW in the last weeks and this was just another reminder
Hiya is freaking hilarious but i think he would be a little obnoxious to hang around with... still, his personality here is pretty much the same as you see it on screen.
Lol, the quality of the questions were seriously declining at the very end! If he wants to live in Buncheon and switch to starcraft 2, he should ask Tasteless (he was living there, right?).

Don't you see? It's all part of his masterplan to actually join Super Junior. He's auditioning.

Switched browsers, restarted browsers, nothing.
This only happens to this stream =´[
It's the same for me. Justin or twitch or whoever is hosting this now just keeps on dropping the ball. Time and time again.
Man, what a game that was... I cant believe how he lost most of his army in the mid push, comes right back with 3 tanks and a bunch of vultures to take out 1 exp full of probes and then pick off another batch of probes with vulture, putting him in such a good position.
Off the games i've watched so far in TvP even when he's behind his vulture play brings him right back by killing probes, mine fields that make a few tanks 5x harder to deal with.

I don't know, but spotlighting it might be a cool idea ? I mean, this is the best bw player that has ever streamed, and it probably won't last long. Dunno what tl policy is though.
What's going on, after like 30s I get a "Check out the CanadaCup live HERE" and the stream never resumes even when I cross away the ad. Adblock is disabled

Unless I misunderstood the chat, the streamer changed some setting so you can watch on twitch rather than justin http://www.twitch.tv/museun As far as I remember twitch has no regional limits (but may still have regional lag and such). Dunno if people already tried the twitch link, but if you are just refreshing on justin.tv try if going to the twitch version fixes it.

Huge thanks to yosul for streaming and the translators (SNM and clefairy) for making the stream viewable.
Also its always just so impressive to watch a pro BW player. Just the little things like how fast they can go through their base and build units/add supply depots/go upgrades makes me appreciate just how much practice it takes to get that good.

that's the backshot valkyrie shot but you have to click on the nearby area not the actual unit you need to practice that you'll get it down in 5 minutes the reason why you do this is to avoid scourges but on fs there's no time to get out those valks or use them efficiently for that matter that's your decision if valk fails mean bio but its better to go mech after you fail bio there's a different version you can start off bio and go right into late mech or get the center with bio and then move into mech but getting center is better or more standard
sk? is that 2 starport? don't do that
its bad you can win only if you're much better these days you have to go 5 barracks because zergs are used to 4 barracks the difference between broadcastted match and regular practice is that on TV if you go enbay first then 5 barracks mutalisks never come to your base the zerg needs to do something with the bio force zergs try to eat up the force in the middle so that's why terran adapted and don't build too much turrets nowadays they tech fast because terran knows that zerg won't come and in fact, since its televised match
ah 4 fact i didn't think too well i didn't know that the son of bitch would squeeze out units while defending

Love how the commentator's all like "why is HiyA being so dumb with building marines? He's not doing anything." And then "Well, I guess if he kills all of the interceptors, violet won't be able to produce more."
Hilarious translations!!!! Really do hope Khan gets the funds to pick him up. If not, huge loss to BW... Huge gain for sc2. Sad to see players not being picked up when they so clearly deserve it.. And the team wants them.. C'MON CORPS! SPONSOR BW!!!
He's so fast, makes sc2 streamers look sluggish. Perfect mouse control and precision, virtually no spam except for lots of right clicking but tbh, everyone does that.

Yeap really fast. But you don't have to compare just HiyA and sc2 players to make the later look slow. You are gonna be faster in BW than SC2 just because of the mechanics. And the 4:3 aspect ratio and small picture makes you look alot faster too since you have to scroll thru the map more meanwhile in SC2 you have this huge fucking field of view. I for one feel really slow when I'm playing sc2 at least because of this.
I also wonder how fast he is in sc2 if he had played it that much yet. I can't really see him getting out the 400 apm there tbh. Unless he would spam a shitton that is.

omg how dare he not believe it we must show him!
First, that was a TLer himself that sent him that. We wanted him to be aware that he had 2x viewers watching the re-stream than he had on Afreeca itself.
I agree this must be fixed. I think the plan is to get ahold of him next he streams, but if someone posted a Korean message to him we could copy/paste it and hit his twitter to let him know what's up.
So how many views does he get on Afreeca 200 viewers while he gets 400 on tl? I am kind of surprised its that low considering (as far as I know) progamers in bw never streamed o_o. I would watch that shit all day if they did back then especially if jaedong could (I know hiya said they couldn't T_T).
savior was getting like, well over 3k on afreeca. not sure that hiya was only getting 200. what afreeca does is split at a certain number and create a new copy of the stream, so numbers you saw on yosuls stream could just be one of those. also consider that hiya was playing at like, 3am KST

WOAH that game was intense. Why did hiya build literally NO turrets in the main? even accounting for spawn positions, isn't it still a good idea to have at least a few turrets there?

Lol, Scan's in way over his head imo. He's good, no doubt, but he's not on the same level. I remember Luxury crushing him.
Why???? Why did I have to go to school TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Holy fuck he's so good, not so much with offraces haha.
Seriously no matter how much I try, I can never macro perfectly past a certain point in time in each M/U, earlier if you count the small macro tricks such as maynarding each worker perfectly.
I've been playing too much SC2 lately, and the fucking sheer raw speed of BW progamers still amazes me. No MBS/automine/limited ctrl groups makes any RTS really fucking difficult.

I know right? I failed the test of faith I was watching when we were trying to get him to check the link and he kept ignoring sephy. Then I left to do something else. Thinking it wasn't happening and he was just in chatroom. I check the thread later and apparently awesomeness transpired. Still happy though! :D

Kespa has shown interest in sc2 lately yea. That might very well be the case. Hiya has indicated that BW will not live for much longer too, I'd agree but not willingly :/
On November 09 2011 10:54 kakaman wrote: What does his comment about joining Kespa's side for SC2 mean? An SC2 league within Kespa is starting up?
in the chat today, he was saying he thinks there may be like kespa tournaments where non-kespa sanctioned sc2 progamers can't play. He would expect gsl to let kespa players in, but only kespa players could play kespa tourneys. At least I think that was the reasoning (I rely on the translations of others--thanks clefairy-- so don't really trust me). He also said people have said bw would die for the past 10 years, so he "doesn't know what to think" about longetivity of the scene. He wants a year break to relax before military, since he hasn't any time to himself since end of high school until now (23 korean; 22 western).
There was something about how he would have continued playing, but only offers was 1/3 his old salary or along those lines. So he says he isn't looking for a team now, and wouldn't play sc2 for a team either. He is having a year off and wants to enter military late.

It was actually a 1/3 cut, so he'd be getting 2/3 of his former salary. He'd probably be outraged if they only offered him 1/3.

Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like he has no idea what he wants to do, since he said he would play SC2 all day long yesterday.
Also, a 1/3 reduction in salary seems like a slap in the face, especially since everyone except Jaedong got a raise.
Looks like he's almost certainly gonna retire then. It surprises me that 2/3 of his original salary was enough to make him not want a team again, but I'm guessing he was already unhappy with his old salary and maybe he doesn't enjoy the life of a progamer.
He said that he wouldn't accept any offers from teams because he wanted a break to do the stuff he wanted after so many years just training since he never did get any time for himself. So he's going to get corrective jaw surgery early next year, continue streaming (he's getting a webcam next month too), move into an apartment with Bee as his roommate and try to go to the military as late as he can. He says he's certain that he's playing Starcraft 2 because it's something he wants to do. He thinks that SC2 teams and KeSPA live in two different worlds, so he doesn't want to join any SC2 teams and instead wants to stay in KeSPA.

His salary was $100k for 2 year.
$50k for 1 year.
2/3 would be $70k for 2 year?
$35k for 1 year?
definitely not good enough for HiyA.
To be honest,he has better chance for making more money in Starcraft 2.
tbh if he just keeps streaming for a year tht would be even more awesome, at least for me personally. You just can't see this level of play anywhere else since pros aren't allowed to stream. I guess his fans might be more upset. edit: nvm im confused now. Does he wanna play or sc2 or not?

I know, but the general consensus of the Sc2 community seems to be that JD, Flash, Bisu, and other S class players are destined to dominate if they switch, but that average BW players won't have an advantage.

He did talk about starting at 12:30 GMT (+00:00) yesterday so maybe he will come online around that time on some days. Usually he mostly talks gossip and does Q&A (with Korean chat) in the last couple of hours of his streaming sessions (and some strategy mixed in, but not a lot).

Not really.
It depends on results, really. For the Koreans, most of them do make quite a bit less than $35k -- $35k would be a godsend for a lot of them, I feel -- but a few of the top, top players are individually sponsored, and I imagine those sums are decently respectable.
So he's really, really sure that Kespa wants to allow their players to play SC2? All we've heard are rumours, it could still be the same situation as before where Kespa will call people up to get them to stop mid tournament.

Maybe because he only recently started playing SC2, and others have had over a year of practice. But I have no doubts that once HOTS comes out and strategies reset, HiyA will be among the top.
Guyssss, him saying SC2 is hard is probably just him trying to be polite and avoiding serious/insensitive response. Also saying the inverse of that would make him seem blasphemous and arrogant. It's really just typical polite korean talk.

"I'm not sure whether that rumour is true,The gamers that didn't get caught match fixing.I know of two,the two that I know of both retired."
That's a pretty big statement by Hiya. The non-practice partner players who have retired since the scandal, other than ForGG are: Firefist, Frozen, Hogil, July, Kwanro, MVP, Nada, Boxer, Puma and Iron. Did I miss anyone?
I highly doubt Nada or Boxer would be involved in something like this, and I don't think Iron(MC) played often enough that he would get the offer. It's probably someone on Hite, CJ, KT or STX, since these teams already had match-fixers. So, Firefist on KT, Frozen or July on STX, Hogil or Puma on Hite or Kwanro on CJ. I think the players who switched to SC2 are less likely to be involved, so Firefist, Frozen, Kwanro and Hogil sounds like the main suspects. If you look at Kwanro it makes sense. He fell in ranking after that event. Hogil also left the scene at a weird time, when he was just starting to put out good results, maybe the guilt caught up with him. But then this could just be a rumour.

No point in speculating. He didn't say A teamers. The list of retirees in the past year or so is much longer than that. And it's not Kwanro because SKT made Kwanro sign a clause that requires him to return to T1 if he comes out of retirement.
Edit: When he posted his retirement message on his cyworld, Kwanro also made it very clear it's not because of match-fixing that he retired.

Nah. Hogil retired because one day he woke up and realized that it was his destiny to give up his spot in the OSL to Jangbi, so that he could save the world BW with his awe inspiring victory.

hiya so gud tho
I dunno.. Hiya IS known for being one of the highest APM players on the scene, isnt he? Like 420+average apm
Nope, about 330 average over the coarse of a 20-30 min game. He sticks around 400 in the first 8-10 minutes.

That's a pretty big statement by Hiya. The non-practice partner players who have retired since the scandal, other than ForGG are: Firefist, Frozen, Hogil, July, Kwanro, MVP, Nada, Boxer, Puma and Iron. Did I miss anyone?

kwanro, hogil and frozen but if they were match fixing why weren't they pull down with all the other match fixers ?
Kwanro/Hogil both had decent results when theyquit. IIRC ForGG wasn't doing too awfully either, just not really living up to his past successes. Speculation is really pointless, in fact if it was someone like Nada/July/Boxer I'd rather not know.
This is like bnet attack every time I turn in. The star is just destroying the chumps he manages to match against. I am so happy HiyA is streaming.
EDIT: So much thanks to everyone translating and everything else. It's so easy to watch and hear a Korean progamer, and I have the collective badassery of TL to thank. This is the best thread on TL at the moment.

Yeah he said yesterday forgg was good and not one of the two guys.
Hiya's heavy factory play in tvp is just so beautiful to watch, shit! Dt's and fast arbiters? Np, take quick third and kill without vessels or even starport tech.

Why would a B teamer be offered to match fix? They don't even play regularly and they are expected to lose anyway. I'm positive that the ppl Hiya was thinking about was among those players I mentioned. That doesn't mean it's true though. Anyway, I think Kwanro just looks more suspicious by mentioning that he didn't quit because of the match-fixing.

Hiya went rax -> CC, 3->4 rax with rine + bat + medic push Savior got greedy and expo first and then when the initial hiya army comes, he had 2 sunkens, 1 creep in making, 1 block hatchery in making but failed to see the army so he cancelled the creep and hatchery.
Hiya initial army rolls thru Savior's expo, kills expo hatch... Savior came back a little with muta but lost a lot of mutas due to mis-micro
Hiya snipes Savior's third and just streamrolls Savior in the end with mnm....

Oh noooo why did I miss this?! Savior vs Hiya must have been some awesome stream to watch today....
Hiya is a total baller, his stream is pure gold, sure hope I thinks again about what to do in life and tries to go for a bw team still. If not, if he really wants to give sc2 a try at least the scene will gain an awesome personality and a talented player.

Maybe, maybe not. You couldn't really tell from just two games he played against one Terran. And anyway, trash is far too strong - you and I are trash compared to all of them.

The TL staff just took the decision to ban any Savior stream on TL. You have the possibility, as Manifesto7 stated on the now closed savior on afreeca thread, to give your opinion about it on the website feedback forum here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=285551 Stay courteous and maybe they'll change their mind.
As much as I love and hate sAviOr, I have to say he is just utterly ridiculously brilliant once he knows the opponent's habits and flaws and make effective use of his mere 200-240 APM.
I'm impartial to sAviOr stream ban; to ban other streams for playing sAviOr however, repeatedly or not, is unjust and I hope admins withdraw that part of the policy.

Man, it's sad to hear that people know Zergman as Hyuk's older brother. He was such a cool zerg. It sucks that Samsung didn't value him enough.
Did Hiya find a team yet?
No he didn't. According to Yosul/museun, he is not planning on taking any offers unless they pay enough, so far nothing. Also Hiya apparently said he will go to a surgery and army if he doesn't get a decent offer or he will move to SC2 if Kespa expands.

LOL he just said: "You know why I don't do reactions [for receiving donations] like 1a2a3a? I'm thinking of playing SC2 professionally and if you scream like 1a2a3a no team will accept you"
Hold on, why are you offline then? Wasn't it only when re-streaming Savior or is this just personal choice? I appreciate your streaming, but i think it's ridiculous to go offline when someone is playing Savior.
It was a rule in the thread. It has currently been temporarily been revoked pending more discussion. But it was a rule, i was following it. plain and simple ^_^

Ah, so it's a rule. I thought it was only when re-streaming savior's stream. My bad, carry on. Thanks for the stream nevertheless.

Didn't he retire from starcraft due to his fathers death? Or have I just read something totally different and mixed it up with this?

His father did die but I think his retirement from BW had more to do with him not being picked up by a new team.

So I take it he's seriously considering SC2. Alright. Sad to see him leave BW though.

No he is not, he has left esports. And his father's death was a large factor in his decision, it appears that things from his personal life affected his professional life a lot.
HiyA is the most western personality of all progamers (along with Hyun), he would easily be the most fun to hang out with in real life. I want to be your friend, hiya -_-
Hiya will film an episode of the Sungchun show tomorrow (23rd Nov) at 5.30pm KST at the Loox Hero Center, Mullae-dong. Fans are allowed to attend the recording live. This episode will air on 2nd December.
