I guess I was either dreaming or just reading dailygame articles without translating.
it's been out there officially and unofficially that they've been talking to Blizzard about what to do about SC II for a while

Just like how Kespa runs a whole bunch of leagues/competitions for other games. People need to actually read the OP before jumping to conclusions. I'm just going to make a few comments before this thread becomes totally unreadable in a few hours time... This is not something unexpected, given the trend in recent years of Kespa dabbling in every game that might have an audience in Korea. Thank god you're here to back me up!

Thats a great news! Maybe we see a few hints from this announcement at Blizzcon...
OK its a dream but hey

Yes. I have a feeling the current korean SC2 teams are about to be sacrificed at the altar, though.

It would be interesting if they kept the BW portion and had a SC2 portion. Kind of make a hybrid league where it alternates. BW match, SC2 match, BW match and so on. I am doubtful about that, but until they confirm it and hammer out the details I'll save my opinion for then.

Wow, never got to know the BW scene, but if it really is as big as everyone is saying this is huge! Really looking forward to it!

Well, Go has been running fine since thousands of year :p I for one think for esport to be recognised mainstream, it can't be changing games every year or two.
The longevity of BW is already exceptional, would the sequel be considered "changing game" in my mind ? I'm not sure yet... We shall see.

I'm curious, how much does Kespa notice foreign e-sports? because iit's obviously bigger outside Korea but will Kespa recognize that?

This would be awesome, but i wonder what it will mean for the GSL

This was bound to happen one way or another... When I had a visit to CJ Entus, one of the things that I brought up was SC2 (especially since they had SC2 poster inside their house).
They said: Eventually we're going to dip into the scene. We don't know when or how, but I see KeSPA expanding the scene into SC2 in the near future, especially with the KeSPA-Blizzard BW deal which settles most of the problems between the two organizations. Probably going to be an expansion of the team where we carry both BW/SC2 team.

That's how some of the current SF PL pro-teams were formed, by taking over existing clan/non-sponsored teams.

Unlikely because IT IS KOREAN E SPORTS ASSOCIATION.
edit: i fixed that before seeing ryo post , but thanks anyway

Uh.....well.....um.....this.......yeah.
I really hope this goes through, as I could see it being a nice contrast to the GSTL, where we get the GSTL format there, and Proleague format here.

i just hope that proleague and GSL can coexist, i love them both for different reasons, and seeing this news on milkis' twitter was jaw dropping. Hopefully everything can be worked out.

Wouldnt really make sense as they are still differend games. As decent news this is for sc2 status in korea it will most likely hurt the foreign korean relationship
