Good for SC2 community, but I fear it implies a faster decline of BW pro scene. I can't be against it since we'll have to face it one day. But imo, for the sake of BW, I'll be happier without a SC2 proleague.

No it's not. It is subjective, given the choice i'd much rather watch sc2 then brood war. But I respect someone who thinks otherwise.

It's pretty subjective, he's kinda right. I had as much fun watching SC2 on OGN as I did BW.
|
It may be subjective, but if you were to make a case for either to be more entertaining, BW would have far more points.

I'm not going to lie. You're the first person that I've seen that's ever posted something like that.
Respect.

Great news. A KeSPA ran SC2 league under Blizzard's watch could achieve stuff far bigger than what we've seen so far in e-sports.

MVP is like "shit, this could be the last time I ever earn any money. Better make sure I smash Blizzcon and the GSL final"

I think he means that he believes it's probable that BW pros will switch and that they'll oust MVP from his SC2 dominance.

Im sorry but with flash's dedication and brilliance i dont think he'll take months before catching up with sc2 elite. i wont blame him if he makes the switch over the weekend to make some extra dough
i mean cmon. comparing boxer, nada, july's results to the current top dogs in bw? effort was the only one with any worth and guess where he's headed now? just saying
For people saying blizzard's intentions are not really kill bw, just two questions: how much money can blizzard make from bw now? = 0 how much money can blizzard make from marketing the hip new rts game which changed the tv landscape in a whole country culture using bw? = priceless come on.

Awesome news!!! Can't wait to watch BW and SC2 side by side!

Dedication means putting countless hours in, it's not something that helps can quickly switch over and his brillance is because he knows the games in and outs better then pretty much everyone else an advantage which would be removed if he switched over.
Flash as an amazing amount of potential but to say he could switch over and just start immediatly dominating is wishful thinking. It takes time and effort to become the best, it isn't an inate thing.

how is it wrong? is there an objective measure of how entertaining something is to different people?

After all some of the top Korean bw sponsors such as Samsung are already sponsoring international sc2 events... Makes no sense. Not going to happen. No good reasoning/evidence to back it. Korea is still heavy on BW. Sponsors won't force them to switch. So, a week seems enough for you to learn everything about mechanics, the whole metagame of every match up, on every map, and be the best in the world at that..? You should stop jerking off at our SCBW gods and acknowledge that it will takes a _little_ more time than that to any top SCBW player to be able to "crush" a Mvp or a Nestea. Did I say a week? No, I said it sounded about right. I apologize if you took me literally, but okay, let's say a week. We're talking about Flash here. This is the guy who said he would win an OSL in a year. No one believed him, and he did it against some of the best players at the time (including Stork in the finals) at age 15. Now, given that everyone acknowledges that SC2 is an infinitely easier game to grasp, and BW mechanics can easily translate into SC2 mechanics, I have no doubt that it shouldn't take very long. So okay. Maybe not a week. As the above poster stated, maybe a month. Let's also remember that Flash thinks about SC more than he actually plays it. This guy plays like he has map hacks on. Edit: Also, my thoughts on MVP and Nestea: once a baddie always a baddie. I don't think Flash will have problems after he gets used to it. i don't think mvp in bw was 'bad.' he made his share of mistakes but he was not a dumb player. maybe his ultra turtley play obscured his skills.

Excuse me, but Flash is the most talented RTS player to ever exist in any game. He got his progaming license at his first attempt, after a month of training. That is absolutely INSANE. He won his first OSL after a year since he had become a progamer. In 2010 he made it to nearly all the finals and carried his team to the PL finals. He won the WCG 2010 and saved a man's life in his spare time.
Let's see if any player can top that.

To ETisME: Flash isn't known for his mechanics, but his strategy. He definitely does not have weak mechanics at all though.

And Flash can play practically any playstyle he wishes to. He's one of the most aggressive players, while having the best defence in BW. He's also the best at mindgames. It often looks as if he was maphacking, e.g. scans an Arbiter right as it's about to head to his base to make a Recall or scouts two different proxies in the same game.
