No. Blizzard said nothing about this. Either they play SC2, HoTS or Broodwar showmatches. Or then they just have fun.

I'm pretty sure they are gonna be chained by dollars and all to play SC2 ..

And we'll have another blizzard rage fest coming from our side.

But thats just what I think will happen. Think about it;

- SC2 = New Game
- HotS = Expansion
- Away from KeSPA
- In Blizzard territory

And I don't believe that KeSPA and Blizz are at peace now. I think it's just a cease-fire but then again, if koreans continue to prefer BW over SC2 then I there will never be an SC2 scene nor there are anything to worry about Bisu and Co. playing SC2 @ blizzcon, because it's just illogical to switch when you are ahead.

Edit: Remembering Effort .. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Blizzard would be out of touch because Brood war is much more popular than SC2 in Korea, is aired on prime time TV, and is watched by people who don't play the game. Contrast that with SC2, which is watched almost exclusively by its players, broadcast over a hodge-podge of different internet streams, and has gained no acceptance outside of gamer culture.

Ok, IMHO, TL should redeem itself and get AT LEAST one of the four to Ultimate Barcraft. A BW legend in a community gathering? PRICELESS I SAY!

Wow just wow. The level of ignorance is amazing. Its like anyone who enjoys both games, cant go into a thread of bw-relevant topics anymore. SC2 people dont give a fuck if you are fan of both, because they are the majority and they mostly leave you be, but bw die-hards just seem to use every opportunity to discredit sc2.

SC2 is only watched by SC2 players?
I played SC2 in the beta and after release and in the last few month never touched it again. Still i enjoyed most of the recent tournaments. This point of your argument is false!

SC2 tournaments are mostly streamed through 1 or 2 companies (twitch, own3d), who have a really strong focus on esports coverage. Just because you cant handle the fact, that streams might be more important in the future than real tv, does not mean it is not true. The chinese dota2 stream for iem cologne alone had over 1 million viewers. So yeah SC2 numbers are lower, but your point about streamed events beeing something negative is pointless, to say the least.

Sure there are less crazy fangirls, but why the fuck do you need those anyways? Let them watch their twilight movies and go to their justin bieber concerts.

SC2 found no acceptance outside the game culture? BARCRAFT!!!

This is too easy mate. While you hate on everything that has to do with SC2, i will go on ahead and enjoy bw as long as it will be played by the pro-teams in korea. At the same time i will enjoy every SC2 tournament, that tries to improve their service over time and brings me entertainment. With new possibilites of watching 2 games on the same screen, beeing able to chose one audio channel for my prefered game.

On a sidenote:
You do realize that bw is struggling in korea, dont you? It has nothing to do with sc2. It only reflects the interest of the koreans for bw. There are less and less viewers and there are less and less sponsors. So no blizzard would not be out of touch with the world if they tried to use the most popular figures of bw in korea, to promote their new game. It would be disgusting to say the least, but it would be a very good marketing strategy.

Why would they care? Blizzard gets nothing back from Brood War at this point. Star Craft 2 can still make them money. Trying to encourage the top of the pyramid to switch makes good business sense.

why the fuck would blizzard invite them to play sc2? lol

There will be brood war show matches, and I'm sure they'll be invited to play some sc2 on side pcs just as people did at previous blizzcons. They may even try to stream some of those matches and cast it, but that's different than "Okay now it's time for the Bisu vs Jaedong sc2 showmatch on the grand stage". They're not going to be invited to play sc2, and if they do have a showmatch it would come up incidentally.

And they'll play some of the sc2 for fun and probably watch some of the sc2 tourney/gsl finals as part of the audience. And some interview will happen where jaedong says he could switch to sc2 if the time is right and people will cite it/mistranslate it as an example of jaedong/bisu/fantasy/jangbang switching to sc2 in 2012. And jangbi or bisu will say how they think warp-in mechanics is interesting and someone will make a thread about whether or not they would be the best harassment sc2 protoss ever when they make the switch, and that thread will have a flame war, etc etc.

Unlikely. If there is something Kespa/their teams don't not wan't them to do they will be informed before departure and, of course, they will follow those rules diligently. It's part of their job.

No need for this OMG KESPA IS SOO EHVUL!!! scaremongering.

You were exposed to pro SC2 by being an SC2 player you did not just become a fan through watching matches. There are a lot of people like that in Korea

We are not talking about the future we are talking about now, streams do not give you mainstream coverage. Streams are pretty much exclusively used by people in Internet and gaming communities, compare this to the OSL finals where you can see people who wouldn't be caught dead on a stream or SC2 lan event.

Sure there are less crazy fangirls, but why the fuck do you need those anyways? Let them watch their twilight movies and go to their justin bieber concerts.

The fact that their are crazy fangirls proves that Broodwar has moved beyond the nerd demographic in Korea. It has gained a degree of mainstream acceptance. something that SC2 lacks. Brood War has moved out of its natural demographic.

SC2 found no acceptance outside the game culture? BARCRAFT!!!

Take a look at who attends barcrafts, those people are do not come from anywhere but gamer culture.

Broodwar is not struggling by it self, Esports as a whole are struggling. This is terrible for SC2 as well, because of if the flagship esports franchise cannot survive what chance does an unpopular niche product.

Can't wait to see Bisu playing as protoss in SC2. He alone will bring half million people to watch SC2 in Korea and then Huk will have salary with 7 digits, because companies like Apple and Facebook will start to sponsor ESPORTS.
Good night sour prince. You won't be missed!
