If what everyone thinks about a real BW player switching to SC2 would rip the scene up is true then this would be no problem at all for him, he would probably even be able to take home more like 6-7 GSLs in a year. That's well more than doubling his salary if we're being optimistic.
Then theres MLG, Blizzcon, Dreamhack, IEM, Assembly etc for global fame and smaller price pool.

The money is there if you're talented.

When he wrote that I bet he thought 'if the whole world is going to and watching one competition, surely the prize is going to be huge and prestigious!' but as it turns out there is just a million tiny tourneys, a lot of not very stable teams, and just nothing that everyone is watching. If SC2 lives on and consolidates and gets bigger I can see JD switching, but if SC2 stays the same or pitters out obviously he's not coming to save it. So yeah... using this interview is a pretty weak argument. Get something more recent if you want to bring it up, cause I hear when jaedong was 5 years old he wanted to be a fireman and that probably isn't going to happen either.

So, when SC2 grows up, he'll switch. It hasn't reached BW prestige and so he won't switch (yet).

- I will definitely change to StarCraft II as I feel that StarCraft 2 is having a higher status then StarCraft: Broodwar. We will see more international tournaments in SC2 compared to StarCraft: Broodwar and this will make the change natural for me. I want to build my reputation abroad and reach out to the international audience but when I decide to change game I can not say, it can be today, it can be tomorrow it can be in a couple of years.
