That is actually something that worries me. Is STX really the only team that could potentially afford him in addition to their own players (now that Kal is off to ACE)? I know KT and SKT are already paying Flash and Bisu hefty salaries and might not be able to pay JD as well, but is it impossible for, say, Khan or Stars to acquire him? Does anyone know how much the other players on their teams are being paid?
KHAN could probably afford him, and they really need more zerg players too. stars or CJ might be able to afford him, but both of those teams already have a pair of good zerg players each (hydra/effort, zero/soulkey). KHAN/STX are probably the best place for JD to go out of the existing teams, assuming he doesn't sign with some new team that may or may not form. a new team is probably the most desirable place for him to go to maintain balance in proleague lol.

Khan is really cheap, though. They're probably gonna settle for Roro, Shine, or killer. Conversely, they might just grab a rookie and develop him, like they did with Grape. STX has Hero, Modesty, and Calm... a bit underwhelming, but they've all appeared a decent number of times in proleague games, so I'm not sure STX would grab Jaedong. Hence, I'm inclined to believe that Jaedong would be on the new team-- what better PR than Jaedong? He's practically the poster boy for Lecaf/Hwaseung.
I have a feeling Stars are gonna shoot for Sea or Baby, and maybe Jaehoon or bridge. Flying didn't pan out and Guemchi is pretty bad now. I was surprised that Kal went to ACE before Free. Would be nice if Sea and Light can be teammates again.

as mentioned before, jaedong wants fans and fame. does he necessarily want more money? either way, his paycheck is going to be cut drastically due to... not having a team. his salary is forced. jaedong is the kind of person that sticks to his team no matter what. he's been in jaedong oz for how many years? so its hard to say if he's inclined to move to another team or do something else.

Errr I'm not sure you know how much jaedong makes. I know in 2010 (according to liquidpedia) he made 234,797 US dollars. Thats more then any sc2 player has made and who knows what he made in 09, etc. thats more then anyone has made in sc2 I believe so far.

I don't agree at all. I follow a lot of streams and read quite a lot on TL, and every single time someone makes a comment about BW (from a SC2 perspective), they are trying to belittle the game. "The graphics sucks" "When will Flash switch over?" "I didn't know they still played that game?" These are standard insults.
Even if you say something more subtle, like "I want Jaedong to switch to SC2", then you're still insulting the BW fans. We don't react just because someone mentions SC2. We react because they mention it in a loaded way. Now you could discuss whether we react too strongly or not, but that's another discussion. I've never ever seen anyone flaming a SC2 fan, without the SC2 fan being provokative at first.

it's sort of sad that of the 3 teams disbanding, jaehoon is the best protoss lol. wookie has potential I guess but he hasnt proven any sort of consistency yet (since he is so new). he could be just a fluke like so many rookies before him (remember when classic had a huge winning streak?).

for one because SC2 doesn't seem to have nicely paid contracts
and secondly, because there's one huge SC2 tournament and a shitload of small foreign tournaments. it's just not worth it financially.
if he wouldn't get picked up by a team, he might switch over. but think he'd even go for his military service before thinking about it, and that only if he doesn's find a worthy new home.
i wouldn't hol my breath to see any S-class player anytime soon.

The biggest con to switching to SC2 would be the fact that SC2 HAS NO MUTA MICRO. T______T I mean, Jaedong without his Mutas? I can't imagine him keeping an interest in SC2 after he realizes that.

On the SC2 money subject. Some teams have salary, it's nowhere near the 200k+ he makes in broodwar but its a livable start and I'm sure alot of teams would be more than willing to give him a normal salary.
Anyway my point wasn't the above, in SC2 you can make 80k~ a month from winning GSL, Means jaedong would need to win 3 out of 12 GSLs a year to make equal or more than he does now.
If what everyone thinks about a real BW player switching to SC2 would rip the scene up is true then this would be no problem at all for him, he would probably even be able to take home more like 6-7 GSLs in a year. That's well more than doubling his salary if we're being optimistic.
Then theres MLG, Blizzcon, Dreamhack, IEM, Assembly etc for global fame and smaller price pool.
The money is there if you're talented.
