For some reason, when downloading the torrent files, firefox (and perhaps other browsers) mangles the data in the binary torrent file, or truncates its a few bits short, causing the corrupt torrent problem. This can also happen with download accelator programs. This can be tested by downloading the torrent in browser that works, and doing a bit by bit comparison to a downloaded firefox torrent. An example on my computer (using Azurues as bittorrent client, firefox as 1st bad downloader, firefox using DownloadThemAll as 2nd bad downloader and internet explorer as good download is as follows) OSL..SinHan-1..Ro24..Week-3.2..Group.F (latest file) Internet Explorer File download.php : 14292 bytes Firefox File : download.php : 14277 bytes For this bittorrent file, they are exact, except my firefox file is truncated. Firefox File Download them all : download.php 14277 bytes and File Difference starting @ byte 643. In googling for azurues errors of the type, it comes up quite a bit in various forums, but no one seems sure of what causes it. What's weird is that some people have problems with firefox, some with opera, and some with internet explorer. One (unlikely) possibility is the service providers are purposely mangling bittorrent files (they are identified as part of the http get request). Here's a summary of the response message that is sent for the firefox file. Note that the file is listed at the proper length, but the file isn't really that size. HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Sat, 06 May 2006 09:19:42 GMT Server: Apache/2.0.51 (Fedora) X-Powered-By: PHP/4.3.10 Pragma: public Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=Week_3.2_-_Midas_vs_IriS.avi.torrent Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary Content-Length: 14292 Content-Encoding: gzip Connection: close Content-Type: application/x-bittorrent

If possible, you might try to download the file using another browser, and see if you can load that into azureus.

Thus the problem seems to be in firefox, possibly with the default download actions not passing the proper length/file to the default application? One possible workaround would be to add another option to the teamliquid tracker page for each torrent, with the same torrent file to be sent, but change the content-type from 'application/x-bittorrent' to 'application/none'. I think this would bypass firefox default download action. Then you could load those torrent files into your bittorrent client.

Its not just firefox though, i have tried three browsers now: Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer - they dont work for some reason. The torrent that you email me, which i saved using firefox was fine. I say this without much knowledge of how tracker software works, but to me it seems like something wrong with the tracker. I have used various browsers... Also I have tried the "open torrent from url" in utorrent and i cant actually get a direct link for the torrent. So if there was a link something like blah/blah/someplayervssomeplayer.torrent i could try that in utorrent..
