I don't think some people here understand it's pretty much a national sport in South Korea lol. The issue is that money came first to MBC, and they found more money in broadcasting lame music than SC. ![]()

The seeding from previous seasons was fairer in terms of how many games you could avoid (OSL semifinalists end up in the Ro16, where you just need to win 2 series to get seeded again!) You have a true group selection. And survivor-style brackets are much better than the round robin system OSL often uses. In any case, if I haven't misread the situation, all depends on the government agency that decides if MBC can make the change, and perhaps they've already approved it? The new guy in charge of MBC wants the change and I doubt anybody else can stop him.

Sounds like dying to me! ![]()

Now SK is wealthier and the economy is growing, people are looking at video games with less approval imo. It doesn't matter if the xx demographic watches it, it's a tidal wave of change in thinking and social opinion. That more than anything will hurt the scene. I think this is the most plausible explanation. Just like what commentator Um said, no one is really to blame. The head of MBC wouldn't be switching the channel if Koreans still clamored for BW. I wonder, which is better, a slow death or a quick one? Though BW will never truly die. We may lose our mecca though.
