Just a quick Poll on what YOU think is the best replay that u have ever seen...they could entail examples of wicked Micro / Macro / Wild Stratagies / Or just great matchups.
Plz include link to download the rep if possible. Unfortunatly I dont have the link to mine ( i forgot where i got it from ) But ill explain
BoxeR vs Smuft TvP on Valhalla for WCG.
Quick Game but probably the best display of boxers drop micro ive ever seen. He takes about 3-4 tanks and like 4 gols and drops on Smufts Cliff sieging away about 1/3 of smufts probes.. Smuft is able to hold boxer of for a lil while...but not for long boxer brings about 1-2 more tanks up and smuft tries to flank them with his 2 reavers. Boxer see's he's reavers with a glance back with his empty dropship...he picks up his 1 tank in 1 dropship and proceeds to drop/pickup attack etc and waste the reavers with about .5 of a second between each drop. When i first seen this rep my jaw dropped in amazment. Obviously smuft left immediatly after this as he knew he was no match for my god `BoxeR`. Sorry i dont have link but check out WCG replays im sure u will find it.
Please share ur stories and links if possible to the BEST replay in your opinion u have EVER seen!!!
Plz keep this thread free of flaming = thX

hard to say, but the first time i saw a progamer rep was Elky vs Boxer wcg 2001 on Valhalla where elky was toss and boxer used shift click to drop each wave of gols at different spots and times. eneded up killing elky's base. heh
|
The one of Boxer owning Didi on legacy from WCG 2002 was very good: Didi has a huge economical advantage owning more than half of the map, but Boxer manages to harass Didi so long that he runs out of minerals without breaking the terran defense!
|
To be honest the replay that impressed me most was the "use your illusion" replay from sclegacy's pimpest plays. To actually think of doing that in a game is pure genius and is a shining example of how sometimes even bad strategies can be good (you have to be able to do an equally bad looking strategy to beat the agressive start that protoss made in that game). It's only five mins long but the game just made my jaw drop when I watched it as I would not have been able to bring myself to play like terran did. All will become clear when you look it up on http://www.sclegacy.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=146&page=17. Enjoy if you haven't seen it before .
EDIT: Yes that boxer vs Didi replay was amazing. I really liked that game also and it would be in my list of favorites.
|
slayers_boxer v/s TheMarine it was orange vs brown
Terran v/s Terran amazing
|
pimp plays 2002 on sclegacy, I think it has most if not all of the replays you mentioned
|
I liked the sven vs (some toss) where he loses everything but the islands and ends up winning because the protoss morphed all his dts to archons :D I think sven dropped a drone at 12 and made hatches in the corner... but I haven't seen that one in a while actually.. probably not the best I've seen.. but it was cool
|
Bah...ive seen the "pimpest plays" and there are sum great reps but i was looking for reps that would display what i explained above that were maybe less known
|
i just saw nada vs silent control.. vod from ghem tv .. that was awsome

yea but the replay you described was included in pimpest plays 2002 i believe. except it wasn't on valhalla..it was neo jungle story..seeing as there are no cliffs above the mains on valhalla.
|
sVEN vs some toss = sVEN vs GS012 or something -.-v that game was just awesome!
also all games of NTT , like NTT-Garimto (Valhala) , NTT-Smuft (LT) , NTT-Smuft (NNWO) , NTT-IntoTheRain (LT) , well NTT is just sooooooooooo >.<
|
Very Valid Point XG3....and ur right i was mistaken on the map ..( im at work so my brain is foggy ) As i am sumwhat newer to BW i was hoping to get sum insite of u "vets" on reps that would be harder to find or less known that me being sum newb looking on sclegacy at their "pimpest plays" ... anyone can do that... PLZ sum1 come up with sumthing original
XG3

And Links PlZ ppl......LINKS!

oh that reminds me of [GG99]Slayer vs some terran. they mined the map and it came down to slayer winning with like 8 hydras left ;o
|
[NC]...YellOw vs Pro.NT_Sonjjang ZvP on lost temple.
Micro intensive game with both sides running out of minerals, game ends with no clear winner.
Probably the best display of micro I've ever seen.
|
Since replays were released, I've collected up about 100 of the best replays I've ever seen (100 out of like 2 yrs of rep watching...). There are far too many to list but are all mad gosu~
Top 5 ------
Best Macro Rep = Garimto vs a Gamei Zerg player (Yellow?). Zerg goes complete sauron vs Garimto careful unit selection
Best Micro Rep = Boxer vs Chunsang(spelling) (The Orange vs Brown game)
Best Comeback = Boxer vs DIDI (Char, WCG) or Sven vs GS012
Best Overall reap = Arang vs Maynard (nothing particuarly special about it, but I think its the most 'complete' game I've seen)
Funniest = Sven vs Chobo (Probe+Z>Zerg)
I havn't watched any reps for a long time, and I'm sure I've forgotten lots, but nevermind
|
There were a tonn of replays id call gosu but the only one that takes #1 slot is mctfb v some terran(boxer? intotherain?, many sources say different names) @ lt. maybie it was the first rep that impressed me or something but simply put, it felt like watching The Matrix for the first time. Ill upload the rep to wgt and post link later.
|
There was a replay of Reach vs Gyuntae on Lost temple that was the most exciting one I ever saw... Right down to the wire, fighting over the very last resource.
|
boxer vs [df]zergboy.... awesome T v Z
|
the Reach vs Gyuntae is one of my fav rep
|
One of my old favorites was Kimwanchul vs IntoTheRainbOw on Lt gamei. Some of the best storming and storm dodging ive seen, not to mention the nearly flawless mass unit control they both showed.

reps that will be the last to be forgotten by me:
boxer(9) chun(3) Temple-of course
NTT(9) Gar (3) Valhalla-macro? wasn't it like 6 expos within 15 minutes?
NTT(12) McNasty(6) Temple -think it was game #3. NTT MM's early and reaver just barely saves Nasty, and then game goes back and forth, and down to the wire with mins, a great game~
Essay_kr(6) s00v`(12) Temple -short kbk rep where both terran and toss build rax/gateways in middle and then attack each other...had an ingenious finish, made me clap
NTT as toss(9) Smuft(6) Temple -shows NTT's stubborness to the T - great game
those are the first 5 that come to my head and hrmm I see 3 of em were NTT =\ Im sure there are tons of great boxer reps that could come to my mind....but I think most of the things that make me oooh and ahh when I watch boxer is the tactics he creates in game that outsmart his opponent....far from a bad thing but its just the best overall reps for me is generally where its a damm good fight from both sides throughout the entiree game...and in SC, just seems like NTT has gotten into the best fights

These games are already in the PP list thought i'd give them a mention
heh that use your illusion replay was pretty funny. Terran at 9 Protoss at 6. You gotta think this was setup or protoss hacked. But still it was funny as hell to watch.
What basically happened was Toss sent his first probe to terrans main build pylons and gates, while Terran lifted off and floated down to 6. He then proceeded to wall protoss out of his own base then finish the toss off with his scv's funny as hell
Also that terran vs zerg on temple where the last drone had to survive to get enough gas for a scourage to kill the terran wrath. That was a nice game towards the end
|
Boxer VS Chungsung (7 BC lockdown) Nada VS Yaburi (Kills 3 lurks/5 lings with 3 rines/2 medics) Ares[Speed] VS IntoTheRain (Amazing pvz) Reach VS Gyuntae (Like no1important said, amazing show down) Boxer VS didi (Observer blind.... Boxer still lost though =/)

boxer vs didi in wcg is pretty amazing rep :o

Was Sven vs GS012. For those who don't know, and im surprised some of the americans dont, GS012's more "famous" aka was SexDrone. Him and Maynard were best back in the days (well at least U.S i believe) and Sexdrone had so good toss. But anyway, that game was kinda misleading. Sexdrone honestly thought he had the game won and was stuffing around. Who honestly sacrifices 24 dark temps to make Dark Archons. This is what he tells me anyway (maybe he was making up an excuse, who knows? I doubt it tho). Still was a really gg and showed how easily a toss can smack down a mass ultra//cracks. Sven's ramp blocking on his drop too is also really art. Watch the rep!! :7

Theres no rep of this, but TheMarine vs Hot486 in game-q 2 was probably the best zvt game I've ever seen played. Unfortunately it was in 1.07 so only the vod is available, if that even still is.
There have been a lot of pretty good pvt games, but probly none I would really call outstanding because it's just a boring matchup by nature.
The best pvp game is obviously Grrr's amazing comeback on Valhalla on King of Kings 1 I think it was, where the opponent goes early 2 gate carriers and wipes out Grrr's main and expansions several times without being able to finish him, until finally Grrrr comes back and rapes him.
The orange vs brown tvt is probably the best ever tvt played, everyone knows that one well, but I also liked the NTT game where he got way way ahead with mass expansions, then lost them all, then finally came back and defeated a huge infantry army with battlecruisers. The name of his opponent is on the tip of my tongue but I can't think of it now damnit.
There have been many good pvz games. IntoTheRain and Garimto are in most of them. One pvz I really liked was Asmodey's game as 11 toss vs a pro zerg who I also cannot remember damnit on Incubus where it ended up as top of the map vs bottom of the map, with Asmo finally winning using mass reavers with arbiters during some Starleague. Arang had a very similar game only he was bottom of the map vs a top of the map zerg that was also very good.
TheMarine's final kbk games vs Slayer were both excellent as well.

I think you are talking about NTT vs [DaK]Joyo (or smt like that) which indeed was a very nice replay (NTT went non-drop gol rush almost winning but then he went for his expo round the clock thingy and gave Joyo enough room to get into the game. NTT had main 3,6,9 nat 3,6,9 and near the end he lost all except his 6 main and nat where he build like 6 or 7 starports and goes mass wraiths (and later battlecruisers). That was indeed a very good replay. My favorite replay though is NTT vs Jamers T6vP3 where NTT goes MMF against P dt rush. NTT blocks dt's with his MMF till he can comsat em and totally DESTROYS Jamers probeline with 2 or 3 firebats (omg that was total ownage) that was my favorite replay with excellent display of micro and decision making (he didnt even comsat his Templar archives before it was complete)
will try and find the link when i get home from work

yesssssss , NTT made a complete fool out of Jamers in that game -.- you forgot to mention , that while he droped Jamers' main , he also stimpacked some m-ms from his own base and attacked Jamers' expand. the nexus of course died before jamers even saw it it was awesome what an excelent player he was T_T too bad he doesn't play anymore

Errrmmmmm, I assume by original you mean a replay that you haven't seen before? If so that isn't the conventional dictionary definition of original but never mind... possibly you could have said you were looking for less well known replays in your initial post?

Asmo vs Dreame @ WGTour is what you mean I think.

Sonjjang vs Yellow... PvsZ (find it in sclegacy.com)
Nal_Ra vs Vivian... PvsP (find it in www.wgtour.com)
Slayer Boxer vs Zodiac... TvsT (find it in www.sclegacy.com)
Elky vs Chojja... TvsZ (find it in www.wgtour.com)
All in LT except for elky's one in Neo Bifrost.

Was the nuke-raping-ownage of NaDa against an over-expanding and poor-looking Garimto on lt already mentioned? Many ppl confuse the terran with TerranTeacher in that game but it is definitely NaDa. Another great game is Yellow vs Nal_Rock 12-3 on lt when Yellow shows such incredible ling control that even Boxer or Chojja would have been impressed by its perfection...bad thing is that Rock survives and owns him afterwoods. One funny thing is the StarLeague game of NaDa when he rapes all of Reach's peons with just one drop on neo fz.

ntt vs smuft new no way out.. elky owning terranteacher pvt

but my all time favourite is clearly one game, which was the most amazing art game i have ever seen
[ReD]NaDa vs Han.G)ClouD

on topic of this.....
may i post reps that compete with these that no one noticed?
soon
after WDT (my current very low cpu time is spent on it=[)

Chunsang vs Boxer TvT
[DaK]DDong vs [GsP]Gyuntae on LT. Gyuntae blocks ddong in with sunkens and lurkers but ddong is able to get quite a bit of expansions. Then he uses reaver+templar drops to totally eliminate Gyuntaes huge armies.
Sven vs IntoTheRain on Indian Lament
Xellos[YG] vs DF-ZergBoy
I probably forget a lot of good replays but these are the ones that stand up in my mind right now.
|
IntoTheRain vs YellOW:Rain(orange) vs YellOw(White) Boxer vs YellOw: Boxer vs YellOw: Boxer(teal) vs YellOw(White) GG best replayz ever seen so far for me duhhh....
|
LimTerran (T) vs Spunky)_vC.6 (P) First Pro-Gaming Replay ever to be released to the public. LimTerran = Boxer Patch = 1.08 ^_^
|
funniest replay ever: BratTsunami vs [GG8]sVEN@aBs infested terran drop enough said
most entertaining to watch: USA-Tsunami vs POL-Majtek mass ling fight in beginning, dark swarm on top of enemy sunkens...
best replay ever: TIE: that one rep where in pvp the guy wins with 2 probes and the other was KIROFF vs that protoss guy where the guy builds gateways in his base and kiroff flies to protoss base, walls zlots out, and kills with scvs.
|
Arang vs Tsunami series is also rather amazing....Tsunami has by far the worst zerg macro I've ever seen, yet the best micro with hive units.
|
imagine how good he'd be now...he did that stuff in year 2000 down
|
and yes, tsus macro isnt that great, which is why i didnt vote any of his games as best rep ever...i just think its funny how he humiliates people with zerg high tech
|
United States12235 Posts
But didn't he quit a couple of years ago? =/
|
Tsunami doesn't even reach 200 supply in that rep. He only reaches it once and he just is so incredible with micro.
Someone post how Tsunami drops Infested Terrans. :D

the one with TvZ on LT where every mineral mined, came down to zerg player hatching scourge to take down T's final two wraiths that were destroying it's base. T floated buildings over the hatching eggs hoping the scourge would explode, but didn't. Z laying down dark swarm over the mineral path of its last 2 drones to get enough min for the scourge. scourge caught the wraiths

I agree with the guy who mentioned that garimto vs some gosu zerg replay where yellow was obsing. Protoss was basically massively outresourced but won with amazing kill ratio.
|
Niza vs Kwakka ZvsP the most increadible rep i had ever seen. The micro of the zerg was superb!
|
u guys forgot Grrrr...!!!!!! the match vs da.boat or something like that...he goes incredibly fast carriers and win....man dont forget all the other games..his pvz is just amazing...his storm use is crazyyyyyyyy....dont forget his shuttle+reaver micro...sorry no links cuz all his games ownzzzzzzz

I think of a replay where Boxer played with some hasu player/// boxer (9) player(toss) (6) (LT) he closed his base and built turrets not letting opponent to see what he was doing. Then he built science facility with covert ops... Nuclear silo... missle... science vessel with EMP shockwave and a ghost with cloak... a few midcs and a wraith to destroy observers... this ends with a dropship dropping a ghost and medics to the opponents base. Boxer uses EMP on opponents Nexus and then a "Nuclear Launch detected" line flashes on the screen... gg... trully funny demo. Real fun was in watching things protoss did when he saw a dropsip aproaching his base... it was all standart... he moved an observer to see ghost. This observer was quickly destroyed by boxers wraith... and the tosses dragons and zealots were just useless. Toss could do nothing...

i think the one where boxer had burrowed lings in grrs base i think or was it some random protoss player
any ways that one was good and blackman holy crap his macro is amazing. almost never see him with more than 200 minerals.
|
that brown vs orange TvT...got me into starcraft :D

hard one to call but i still like one particular KPGA game on Plains to Hill that was PvT the terran and toss killed each other off and ended up switching bases with each other! can't remember who played >.< (toss won through)

The replay where boxer locksdown his opponent's battlecruisers using 8 ghosts (hotkeyed 1-8) then finishing them off with only a handful of wraiths.

1 game i liked a lot Grrrr vs ZergLee on blade storm gosubattles
|
boxer versus reach .. the one where garimto made arbiter and brought all the zealots to boxer's base..too bad he lost at the end..
|
pppp(P) vs some (z) i think infinity on ngi, the best execution of sair/reaver in the history of starcraft. the replay is on this site

reach vs boxer @ LT where boxer tried to blind all reach's obs to kill reach's carriers but i think that was a pimpest play :S
