Page 23. If I see any more BW vs SC2 debate from that point on you will get banned.

It's good news that KESPA is looking for new owners. It's unrealistic for all 3 teams to survive, but the thought of one team being picked up isn't far-fetched. In that case, it will probably be OZ. I'm guessing Jaedong would add a lot of name value to your brand. It's also possible that KESPA would offer a 2 for 1 deal. If someone picked up OZ and MBC, they would definately be a contender.

It does makes sense to me. When sAviOr was winning, he had a great personality that goes with the dominance. When Flash was doing the same thing, his persona didn't really fit into his dominance. So maybe the viewers didn't really like that and therefore having less love for the scene.

Korean netizens were talking about this too though. They were saying that OGN's ratings started to fall from the 2009-2010 season onwards. But of course that probably had more to do with the match-fixing scandal and the Blizzard conflict.

I'm not as pessimistic as everyone here. This might end up well with stronger teams and more intense tournaments. I mean the PL was very hard to follow if you didnt dedicate at least 3 hours per day to watch the whole thing. And if you add the OSL and MSL games it was near impossible.
When i see the crowd for the recent PL finals and STX cup finals it's amazing, BW isnt dead at all.
The korean professional BW communities need to group together, to make changes to stay strong and that's what they're doing imo.

This is a bit confusing... So on one hand, it's pretty much confirmed that Oz is going to disband, but on the other hand KeSPA is looking for sponsors for this team?

So what will happen? If KeSPA finds sponsors then Oz will not disband, will it? Very confusing shit.

How is it confusing? when a sponsor pulls out, KeSPA tries to find another company to sponsor the team, in which case the team can stay together. If not, the team disbands, and then KeSPA works to get the players drafted into existing teams.
I'm going to sleep, let me get some of that carpet.

When i see the 6 months PL winner is determined by a single bo7, yes it needs to be corrected. With less but stronger teams we could have a better PL format with more exciting events.
And maybe new sponsors will come to rescue one or two teams, we dont know anything yet.

When they say "disband", it means Hwaseung is pulling sponsorship, so no more Hwaseung Oz. But if a new sponsor can be found (eg. Hyundai), you may have Hyundai Oz or whatever else Hyundai wants to name their team.

Samsung has the money, they just don't want to spend it. I'd rather see a new sponsor step in... but if it doesn't happen, having my favorite zerg on my favorite team would be some consolation.

In fact Oz disbanding is predictable.

Hwaseung is the brand that suffers the most among all sponsors. Instead of calling the team "Hwaseung Oz", fans call it "Jaedong Oz", so the name "Hwaseung" is completely replaced by "Jaedong". Although for other one-man teams, fans keep the brand name (KT Flash, SKT Bisu, Samsung Stork...). So they cannot promote their brand -> quit esport.

So are these the options: Pick up another broodwar team, retire or go pro in another game?
