So they do another finals in China? but this time PL. I hope there's a massive turn out of people, that would be awesome.
Wonder how the Koreans feel about this.

Dang it. Won't be able to go watch arrrgggghhh.

I wonder if the Finals will have more people this time? Last time they hosted the OSL there it seemed like there weren't that many people because it was badly advertised and the like.

Exactly what I logged in to post, except you posted it when I was logging in.

Especially for fans of the team seeded into first (cough T1), who never get to see a playoff match in person.

For all the investment the sponsor companies put into the teams, sometimes they make decisions that really endanger its future.

Why do they keep holding finals in China?

Because China is the hottest country in the world, Koreans are flocking to China for tourism in droves, and more specifically because China has the most gamers per capita of any other nation.

If they book another venue that only holds a tiny amount of people like the OSL finals it will be a disaster.
I'm going to sleep, let me get some of that carpet.

I don't know if you know more than me due to understanding Korean, but what kind of money could be worth hurting fan enthusiasm for the entire scene?

The entire scene provides a relatively low cost channel to promote all sorts of consumer goods and services to the Korean fanbase: phone service, gadgets, online games, airlines, clothing, beverages, and more - and many of the ads are linked to the team sponsors themselves. Making moves to damage the fans' enthusiasm could kill off their golden goose.

I can understand them trying to develop an audience elsewhere...but with the damn PL finals? The culmination of an entire year's worth of games? You've got professional leagues all over the world holding exhibition games abroad, but not their damn finals. I'd be insulted if I was a Korean fan.

I'm practically angry, sitting here and reading this news.

They're basically shitting on the people that regularly show up to proleague finals by doing this. These locals and even some from far away support the league for the whole season, only to be refused a proper live finals event? Seriously, what the fuck?

Will there be enough fans there to make it as epic as the PL final is supposed to be?
