MiniLauncher you have to be careful with. It will install all kinds of programs with the launcher if you aren't paying attention to what you're doing. i was told by someone that MapZine is the fish server but I guess they were wrong. o_o.

the real question is would you tell me if i was right? next guess: convincing fish admins to let you make an english website to open the server up to non-koreans in an unprecedented way

Launch them both, then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Battle.net/Configuration , double click on "Battle.net gateways", there you can see the server addresses. Now get a battle.net gateway editor and either back-up the current server-list or make yourself a custom one with the servers you need. If you play without the launcher you will get dropped when playing against people who use it. BrainClan is considered better server to play on then Fish.

http://pastebin.com/6YLCgZvh <--fish also if you could, also add iccup, i dont know if their registry thing also overwrites the servers, i dont think it does, but it couldn't hurt. I cant find the reg file specifically, just an exe that adds it. it can be downloaded from here: http://www.iccup.com/files/download/5edbde2cb5ba932d8727a9506cefa42f/iCCup_reg_file.html thanks for your help

Before you do ANYTHING: I have discovered that the Fish server will AUTOMATICALLY modify your server list to match theirs. You will lose your list of servers every time you connect to that server, and will have to run this registry file again. I have found no way of fixing this. Sorry. I used the BattleNet Gateway Editor to modify servers and create the .reg file. + Show Spoiler [Reg file plaintext] + + Show Spoiler [Pastebin] + REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Battle.net\Configuration] "Battle.net Gateways"=hex(7):31,30,30,31,00,30,31,00,73,63,2e,74,68,65,61,62,\ 79,73,73,2e,72,75,00,33,00,06,54,68,65,20,41,62,\ 79,73,73,20,28,49,43,43,75,70,29,00,66,69,73,68,\ 2e,66,69,73,68,62,61,74,74,6c,65,2e,6e,65,74,00,\ 2d,39,00,46,69,73,68,20,53,65,72,76,65,72,00,6c,\ 65,6d,6f,6e,2e,62,72,61,69,6e,63,6c,61,6e,2e,63,\ 6f,6d,00,2d,39,00,07,42,04,72,61,69,6e,07,43,04,\ 6c,61,6e,00,6e,69,63,2e,62,72,61,69,6e,63,6c,61,\ 6e,2e,63,6f,6d,00,2d,39,00,07,4d,04,61,70,07,5a,\ 04,69,6e,65,20,53,65,76,65,72,00,75,73,77,65,73,\ 74,2e,62,61,74,74,6c,65,2e,6e,65,74,00,38,00,55,\ 2e,53,2e,20,57,65,73,74,00,75,73,65,61,73,74,2e,\ 62,61,74,74,6c,65,2e,6e,65,74,00,36,00,55,2e,53,\ 2e,20,45,61,73,74,00,61,73,69,61,2e,62,61,74,74,\ 6c,65,2e,6e,65,74,00,2d,39,00,41,73,69,61,00,65,\ 75,72,6f,70,65,2e,62,61,74,74,6c,65,2e,6e,65,74,\ 00,2d,31,00,45,75,72,6f,70,65,00,62,74,65,73,74,\ 2e,66,69,73,68,62,61,74,74,6c,65,2e,6e,65,74,00,\ 2d,39,00,46,69,73,68,20,54,65,73,74,20,53,65,72,\ 76,65,72,00,62,72,61,69,6e,63,6c,61,6e,2e,64,79,\ 6e,64,6e,73,2e,62,69,7a,00,2d,39,00,42,72,61,69,\ 6e,20,54,65,73,74,20,53,65,72,76,65,72,00,66,69,\ 73,68,2e,6d,6f,67,34,32,32,2e,6e,65,74,00,2d,39,\ 00,46,69,73,68,20,53,65,72,76,65,72,20,5b,42,41,\ 43,4b,55,50,5d,00,00 Download link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/387278/allscservers.reg + Show Spoiler [howto] + If you can download the registry file, simply right click on it, and select Merge [default action for double click on most machines], and click YES to the prompt. Roughly 10% of them speak English well enough to communicate. And in my experience, around 1 in 4 love foreigners and try to speak to you. You are allowed to speak in English, just never _NEVER_ NEVER EVER EVER EVER speak English in the ladder channel. One of the admins will just randomly ban you, sometimes even from the server. Which is understandable, as it's a Korean server, but just don't do it. In games + private channels it's fine.

Some semi-pros and a couple of progamers play at Brainclan and ladder there, but the higher marks on ladder on both servers are very, very high. Fish is more of a ladder server, though because you can gain/lose points according to win/loss, whereas on Brainclan you can retain more points due to a lesser ELO/point system. Fish however, is inherently comprised of 13-15 year olds and younger, more immature Koreans. Brainclan is filled with the older generation of BW Koreans who really think of BW as an e-Sport. Perks of Fish: More steady server. Has only been DDoS'd to death once by the Chinese, and it only lasted a week. An average of 50,000 players. You will never run out of games. Extremely balanced ladder point system. Down points of Fish: Hard for foreigners to report the abuse done to them, even with guides, it's a hassle. The server connection outside of Korea can be very bad. 25% of the population hacks (moreso at lower ladder rankings - around the same as iCCup) 7-10% of your opponents dischack when you own them. The above 2 reasons can be related mostly to the fact that you are playing young teenagers. Almost 90% of the players speak little to no English. Perks of BrainClan: Average of 15,000 players. Mature, older players who generally speak good and or communicable English. Very friendly, very laid back. Very good server connection wise. You do not lag on BrainClan as long as you have a good internet connection. Not a lot of hacks - the same launchers, but not a lot of hackers or dischackers. The ability to play with amatuer and semi-progamers once you have established yourself. Down points of BrainClan: 2/3 of the population are in clans that compete in leagues (much like West) and play amongst themselves besides ladder. (Unless of course you friend add them.) DDoS'd by the Chinese at least twice a year, the last one lasted almost 3 months. The perk/down point lists are not complete, but give you a good idea of what you are up against on either server.

Can't get games because of the slow download. well they are available at KeSPA's site for download. Chef has made a collection back then, missing a couple of the newest maps.. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=224789 but that shouldn't be a problem, since many people are still playing on python and Fighting Spirit.. the koreans tend to rename their maps and hence you have to DL most of the times anyways. Best is to find a game where the host is afk or patient, or simply go to Op Teamliquid and play with people there for your 30games. I've only played one ladder game so far, but with a friendly korean, he made the gamename with a korean sign so I asked him to make it in english and he did it, then he let me DL the map, too. Pretty nice ![]()

Thank you. Do you play either btw? I was trying to play on Fish, but weirdly enough the maps dont "load", when i create a game, the DL status doesnt show, players can still join but the DL status doesnt show on them neither and i cant start the game because the map is still distributing. I tried to join another peoples games and the DL status doesnt show either. A nice person, which i dont remember the name no more, gave me a bunch of Python and FS versions from his Download folder, still doesnt work, Ive tried different launchers without success. Posted this here in hope someone would see this and give some help. EDIT: Never mind im an idiot, seems that updating wLauncher cause all the plugins to become disabled, its working now.
