KT Rolster!
All winners are done, and thanks to nozarro33 for doing fOrGG's interview!
-Your thoughts on the team's first win this season?
▲ It's very regrettable that we had to lose the last match. I do not think we will fall so easily, since in the last match [against SKT] we only lost once it got to the Ace match. After losing last time I prepared very diligently, and so today we achieved better results.
-You know you have now lost your last 7 Ace matches in a row.
▲ From the start of the off-season till now, I have not forgotten the number 6. [laughs] Now, for the first time in my career I have experienced the "7 game loss streak", [T/N: It's not like Flash has really lost 7 games in a row, but he's dramaticizing his Ace match losses] and so I can only wryly smile. Even if the coach tells me to be calm and play loosely, I cannot just let go. Right now, I am trying very hard, and I will most definitely walk away from this Ace game loss streak. I believe that very soon this [loss streak] shall end soon.
-If the match today had reached Ace, would or would you have not been sent out to play?
▲ We had prepared quite a few people for the Ace match today, so I cannot say with certainty that I would have been sent out; I can only wait for the coach to call my name. Add to that the fact that I have been continually losing, and it's unavoidable [T/N: completely understandable] that he would not trust in me [laughs].
-Thoughts on your match against HiyA?
▲ HiyA-hyung has an aggressive style, so I played very carefully, and indeed he did play very actively. Fortunately, I played in a very loose and relaxed style [T/N: And so I won...?].
-What is your goal for the season?
▲ This season I want to achieve 60 wins. Last season I quickly reached 55 wins, and many people thought that I would break 60, but at the end I didn't perform so well, and so I failed. My teammates comforted me, telling me "if you had broken 60 wins so early on, in the future it would be very hard to break that record." This season there are two rounds of Winner's League, so I definitely think there is a possibility [to achieve 60 wins].
-During the off-season you were really busy. Have you gotten accustomed to the new maps yet?
▲ To tell you the truth I don't even really know the names of the new maps yet. During practice I train really hard, but since the new maps were released very late, I am not yet familiar with them. A few days ago I lost on Icarus, [laughs] and though I prepared very carefully and was very sure of myself, but against the might of BeSt I was powerless [laughs].
-Thoughts on the season's new maps?
▲ It seems that these maps are harder to play on than those of last season. [T/N: Not too sure of this next sentence...] [Last season] T was able to do quite a lot on the maps. Now, with the new season comes the time that the maps need to be tweaked for balance, and so the maps are not that favorable for T. Therefore, we need to adjust accordingly.
-Recently Action has joined KT.
▲ He is a very outstanding individual, and is a player who seems to know of nothing other than Starcraft. Therefore, in the future he can only get stronger. Action joining KT is a very good thing, and I hope with him we can achieve better results.
-Any last words?
▲ Even though everything has been a bit confusing as of late, I still hope that everybody will continue to support us. The players still very much want to show everybody nice matches, and they are practicing very hard to do so. I just want everybody to know this little bit.
-Thoughts on your first win upon donning the KT uniform?
▲ Three days after arriving at the KT dormitories and my win percentage was still the lowest, and this made me very worried. Yesterday seemed to be the start of something better. I believe that after getting one win I should be able to play the rest of the matches much better, and so today's win was very real, and very important.
-Today's match was very dangerous [for you], but you calmly battled through this crisis.
▲ Normally I like playing a tactical-based game, so today my body felt like it was drained [T/N: Clearly you should learn to macro better!]. The unexpected circumstances caused me to blank out for a bit, but I thought that if I dragged the match out, eventually I would be able to force the win. Going into the midgame I was still fine, but I knew about the incoming DT drop and was one step too slow, so that was not very good.
-Have or have you not found your condition yet? [T/N: This seems like a weird question in Chinese...]
▲ It seems like it's been forever since I've played a match, but now I feel like I've pretty much gotten back to my old level [of play].
-Are you confident in your defiler usage vP?
▲ Originally I was very sure, but recently I don't really what to do. It seems like more matches have to be played. After I have faith [practice more] I should be able to play better, but the future is still a bit uncertain.
-It seems you shall always have a chance to step on stage?
▲ [T/N: Not too sure about the first sentence, but I think it says something along the lines of him still having a lot to learn... or having to pay school fees? Stupid Chinese idioms.] With my current strength maintaining my position shall be tough, but there are many matches in the future. I believe I will have good performances.
-How was it adapting to KT, and who on the team do you have the best relationship with?
▲ Everybody is very nice to me... [laughs] Since I used to be teammates with Suny[fOu]-hyung, I have learned a lot from him. Others are very nice to me as well. Violet-hyung and I knew each other from before, so we have a good relationship. There are still some with which my relationships are a bit awkward, and if I elaborate on that it will make it more awkward, so I will keep it secret [laughs].
-Goal of the season?
▲ The team has invested so much in me, so I should reciprocate with some good results. In the future I shall attain these good results, so please look forward to them. Winning 40 matches is also a must-have [laughs].
-Any last words?
▲ eSTRO's players have now gone their separate ways, and they adapt well and practice hard. A lot of players are still active on a team, and I hope that I will be able to see them often in the arena.
-Thoughts on you first win this season?
▲ I played Bisu on this same map during the first match, and I prepared a lot but ended up losing. So I was determined to quickly get a win. Luckily I managed to achieve it in the next game. so I'm quite happy.
-It felt like you tried to force the win during midgame
▲ It wasn't like that. Killer had both of the island expos, so he probably anticipated I would try drop plays, hence I decided not to go for dships, Instead I decided to give up the island expos, but make sure I would prevent him from expanding anywhere else. So even though I might have looked disadvantaged at a point, everything went according to plan.
-You got sent out more after the Bo7 format change
▲ We have strong Terrans on this team, but since I'm a individual league winner, I get to play more often. I had the chance to play this season, but I need to have good results to continue to be sent out. Since the format is Bo7, I have to try hard to be sent out. To be honest my results last season weren't very good. I will improve this season.
-Any goals this season?
▲I don't have any specific "acheive how many win" goal, but a 70% winrate is my goal. But goals are flexible, if I do poorly maybe it'll be 20 wins goal. (Laughs)
-Any last words?
▲ Thanks to all the fans that came here to cheer for us. and today I was kinda angry because I lost the last game, so I was a bit rude to one of the interns. I'm always like this, so I hope he can understand and don't be angry at me. (Laughs)
-Thoughts on winning two games in a row?
▲ Hi everybody, it's been a long time since I've done this sort of interview now, and I'm not sure how everybody's been doing for a while. Originally, after winning my game [against Canata] in the last match I really wanted to give an interview, but unfortunately we lost, so I'm really happy that I can make up for last time today [laughs].
-First tell us about why you took off your glasses. [T/N: Er, did Violet get eye surgery or something?]
▲ It was to honor the fans, but to undergo surgery to get rid of these glasses is something that I never want to go through again [laughs].
-Thoughts on today's match?
▲ Today my condition wasn't so good. When the matches are played during the day I normally do not eat breakfast, but in today's match I was sent out at the end, so while waiting I ate some purple laver. Unfortunately, this made me drowsy and I couldn't focus. I need to reflect on this for a bit [laughs].
-How did you expect that your opponent was going to attack by dropping?
▲ No matter what else, it was certain that he was going to try to harass, so at the very least I wanted to defend against vultures [T/N: Haha 'lightning carts'] and dropshops. My luck was very good, and my opponent did in fact come to drop, and investigating my opponent's buildings allowed me to take the upper hand.
-Do you think you've taken your PvT up a notch?
▲ I still think [PvT] is very hard to play. If you use Flash as the standard that a Protoss has to go against [PvT] is very difficult indeed, though to be honest even using any other Terran as a benchmark still means PvT is hard. I think Central Plains and Benzene aer relatively good for Protoss, but we can't just rely on the maps for winning. No matter how tough [imbalanced] the map is one must be strong, and so I played played on Icarus.
-This is your team's first win with you as captain [T/N: Wait a minute Violet is captain for KT what?]
▲ In times past I was actually very obstinate and stubborn, but now that I am the captain I must be a role model to the other hyungs. Therefore, I am going to work hard on this aspect.
-Very soon older team member [Oops]Reach will soon be discharged from military service.
▲ Once this heroic [T/N: lol reachhhhhhhhhhhh] hyung is back I will listen carefully to what he has to teach me, and this hero is also very much looking forward to what I can teach him. And not only just me, he also wants to learn from Stats and Tempest as well; his passion for Starcraft is immeasurable. However, if his words turn out just to be a joke, what can I teach others? I just want to help him.
-What are your goals for the season?
▲ I want to get 60 wins. I know Flash has also set this goal of 60 wins, and if one wants to be a good player he should strive to emulate the best player. It will be very difficult for me to achieve this goal, and I do not yet know how hard I will have to work if I want to reach 60 wins. My goal is very ambitious, and I do not want to let myself down, so I will work very hard.
-So then what is the goal for KT's Protoss line as a whole?
▲ 120 wins then [laughs]. If we can attain this goal it will truly distinguish us from everybody else.
-Recently Action has joined KT. He's adapting well, yes?
▲ When we were both amateurs, Action and I played Starcraft together, so there is not a feeling of distance between us. However, the other players are not mean, and they treat him as one of their own. Even though he might not have adapted immediately, but very soon he will be acclimated.
-Any last words? [T/N: Jeez Violet had a ton of questions...]
▲ I want to thank the KT company for providing us such a nice environment for us to continue playing Starcraft. Also, I want to thank the coaching staff for giving me the chance to play. Thanks to free-hyung and Jangbi-hyung for practicing with me, and to the hyungs in the Air Force as well. This is a new beginning, and KT shall play to take the championship again, so I hope everybody will continue to support us. Last season we were able to take the gold, and the most important reason for being able to do so was because of your [the fans'] support, and so I hope you will continue to support us to spur us on!
