Bleh... this game was 35 minutes and almost 700 lines! Took me a good 3 days to time the monster... Also, my timing was a bit sloppy, as I'm primarily just a translator (I have little experience with timing). I hope you'll all still enjoy this (it was one of my favorite games of last year).

Instructions:
1) Download VOD and softsubs.
2) Put both files in same directory.
3) Rename both files so that they have the SAME name (EXCEPT for the file extensions, leave those alone!).
In Winamp, Media Player Classic, BS Player, Zoom Player, etc the subs should show up without you having to do ANYTHING.
In WMP9, go to Now Showing Tools->Captions. You might have to turn WMP9 off and back on to get it to work. For further reference, look at my Nal_rA vs iloveoov softsub post!

Heh.
They commentate mostly for the masses... lots of people watch Starcraft matches when they don't even play that much. Although I must admit, that was a pretty dumb thing to say. The three stooges... one's known for overreacting, one's known for being Captain Obvious, and one's really really quiet. At least, IIRC.

I meant that I was impressed. I can't remember the last time I saw anything but shallow thinking displayed on TV (I rarely watch debates, but then most people don't either). Most people would just go "Wow, such a high winning ratio! Surely it must mean he has an advantage!" without ever stopping to think about the details.

Grr... I have both files in same directory, both named same thing except for extensions. For WMP the show captions if available is checked, doesnt work there, and doesnt work with winamp at all. >_<!

The other one didn't need two, I just put up alternate file formats. You could've played using only one. I guess I might as well put up the SSA file as well, although that one doesn't look very good due to the fact that there is no font setting in it.

Next (if you plan to), do... one of those XellOs vs YellOw finals games. Those were pretty as far as I remember (xellOs poppin lurks with no detection using meds, so sexy, guillotine I think), and I wanna see more of those two, especially yellOw >_< Or the more or less recent Boxer vs YellOw on Jim Raynors Memory (here), that was one SEXY game.

hahahahahaha I love the intensity of the announcers. Comments weren't as insightful as the more recent Nal_rA vs iloveoov game, but they were more emotional and psychological. I've watched this game three times, the third with subtitles, and the subtitles really add to the feel of the game.

I loved the subtitles even tho it took quite a few tries to get it right T_T;
winamp or wmp9 didnt work, so I used windows media player classic which did work perfectly

Finally got it to work. Had to configure a whole bunch of stuff even though it worked by doing just your instructions for oov vs Nal_rA. It was great, keep up the good work!

Dude, seriously, these things rock like nothing else.
I hope you have the stamina, Gundam, to keep churning these babies out. Maybe someone will join you.
BTW, how long does it take you to do one of these? Also, if you are taking requests (), I'm sure the Boxer/Garimto NFZ game would be good, but I'd like to hear/read one of the classics from an OGN Final. I think the drama there would be even more intense. I'm thinking Boxer/Yellow from the Coca-Cola OSL (2000?), either of the Boxer/Garimto Incubus games from their SKY (2001?) final or Boxer/Reach NFZ Game 4 from the 2002 SKY. Especially that last one...I love the part when the announcers just start laughing when Reach is storming Boxer's troops to hell and back. I've always wondered what they were saying. That one would be my first choice.
Maybe a good poll is in order to help you decide.

Help me! It doesn't work but the Nal_ra oov one worked for me. I'm sure I have everything setup perfectly... Same name, same directory, same thing I did for nal ra oov, "subtitles on" windows media player 9... tried restarting, tried redownloading, tried renaming. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!! BTW i'm willing to use media player classic if someone tells me how to turn on subtitles for that one.

I ended up downloading BOTH of those extra files found in the first post and it STILL didn't work. I went in and copied the name of the VOD and pasted that onto the name of the two extra files (ssa and ssi or whatever), and even though they didn't look any different, it worked after that.
I know that's nontechnical, but that's what I did and then it mystically worked for me. Oh, and I used WMP 9.0.

I changed the name of the subtitle file and the VOD to Boxer vs Joyo (keeping the .ssa for the subtitle file) and then it worked. Before I did that it wasn't working...
EDIT: And I used WMP9.

Hmmm.. It wasnt working for me, but I renamed everything to boxer.(ext) and it seemed to work, try that everyone that it's not working for! Hopefully it will play with subtitles after that!

haha - just noticed this thread, downloaded the .smi file (already had the .asf vid), and it works perfectly - brilliant!
If anyone's on Mac OS X, just go to versiontracker.com and get hold of MPlayer, drag at the same time the .asf and .smi files onto the main window of the player , and click play. Should work fine
